The idea of real lightsaber is awesome but the reality is just plain scary. Fantasy and reality should be kept separated.

The idea of releasing extremely dangerous weapon that can cause permanent damage in one use (without the user even meaning to 'cause any damage) for almost anybody to get is just plain stupid and scary.

EDIT: since somebody has to say it: the future is here... and its fucking stupid
The future isn't scary or stupid but the people living in that future are scary AND stupid.

So it can destroy planes, ignite skin/plastic/wood, and cause cancer...

BUT it's a fucking lightsaber, DO WANT.

this sounds incredibly dangerous o_O seriously, what could a person honestly use such a device for, let alone safely???
i think this should be banned from the general public, so I can feel safe that i won't get a hole burned through my chest by some little starwars nerd playing around...

But the real question is: "How does the laser know when to stop at yea high?"

It's only going to be so long before some fanboy tries to use it to solve problems. This is like begging for a school shooting, except worse, a school burning. What kind of idiot would make one of those and not expect someone to use it on someone?

Lightsabers can cut through stuff, not just set stuff on fire.
I love how this is the fault you found in the product, and I must agree. I want my lightsaber to be able to cut through blast doors.

On a serious note, that thing must be far too crazy to be legal.

Distribution of this item to the general public as well as possession of one without a special weapons permit or industrial-grade license needs to be made punishable with prison time. People who say they want this as a Star Wars toy or any other ridiculous reason should get an immediate reality check... this thing is not a toy. The existence of this thing is bad enough already, but the low price is the cyanide icing on the cake.
I am fucking scared by this news, let me make that perfectly clear. Instant and permanent loss of eyesight. Infliction of high-grade burns. Highly likely formation of cancerous tissue.
People, wake the fuck up. This is anything but awesome. This is terrible, and I am severely frightened at the prospect of the things that could happen if this item were to fall into the hands of irresponsible dickwads or, God forbid, a person with truly murderous intent.
EXACTLY! There is not ONE good reason any person in the general public should EVER use this item! its just fucking dangerous..

.. I'm now scared of walking down a street and being randomly and permanently blinded. If the website knows how dangerous they are, and that they can cause such damage to people, why the hell would you sell them?

Wait, this sounds awfully familiar.. Guns and America anyone?

What kind of lame Lightsabre only has a 1.5mm wide "blade"?

I can envisage this company getting into a lot of bother for marketing industrial lasers as melee weapons...

Is it just me, or does this seem more like a blaster rifle than a light sabre?
