I've noticed that if I give people money they like it, but when I rob them they object. What a strange double standard!

Mixing 4:3 and 16:9 in the same video for no apparent reason makes the video editor in me scream "NO, NO, NO, NOOOOO...!"

Yes as robbing people and giving them money is exactly the same as saying if you like or don't like a video. No really this is the best analogy I have ever heard, no really I mean who would have thought robbing people is exactly the same as saying you don't like a video? Also I fin people tend to be suspicious if you just walk up to them and offer them something for free, they tend to think something is up.

While this is not repetitive in terms of certain words being repeated over and over, the melody is repetitive with very little variation and to me not the most enjoyable melody to begin with.

While your spelling is terrible, I do see your point. RMM is not that great compared to there will be brawl, unforgotten realms and zero punctuation - or even unskippable and stolen pixels.

You see that's the thing about analogies, they're not exactly the same as what you originally said. Otherwise they'd be quotes.

Nicely done once again. I just wonder how you are planning to keep up with the variety of these first, eh, 5(?) songs. ;)

I sincerely hope that is sarcasm. Most real artists don't get upset when you criticize their work, my friend who just recorded an album asks everyone what they liked or didn't like about it. People should be able to take negative criticism, and I don't think anything said in here was over the top mean. I mean no one directly insulted her, they were just criticising her work, and I don't think the job of critic would exist unless we were also allowed to be critical of people's works.

If I write a song and you tell me it seemed repetitive and like my other songs it might move me to rework it and grow as an artist. If you rob me, I'll be poorer. I'd much rather the first one please... oh and stop making up horrible analogies Escapists, I feel like that's almost your thing.

Well ya know I don't care what anyone thinks. To me this one did it's job like all the ones before, it sounds pleasant to my ears and it puts a smile on my face and I enjoy smiling. So thank you Rebecca, I look forward to your next one and getting another little smile in my day.

Oh dear. Ok I'll make it more obvious since the point has apparently eluded you.

A double standard is when you have two identical inputs and different outputs. It is not when you have two different inputs and get different outputs. Sample: I say different things to people, they react differently. This is not a double standard. Hence the analogy was an analogy because it showed a situation where it was more obvious that the actions were in fact different despite the superficial similarity of currency exchange. It was also, slightly more cruelly, a pisstake of the lack of emotional intelligence on display.

Your point did not elude me, my point however, went so far over your head you'd need a telescope to find it.

I never said it was a double standard, what I did say was that your analogy is horribly flawed. No one ever wants to be robbed, its not a helpful process by any means. Negative feedback can breed growth for the better, and is often SOUGHT by people. You don't walk up to shady men asking to get mugged do you? But if you were an artist you might ask people what they didn't like about your work to give you insight to improve.

I hope that was a little more clear to you, but I get this weird feeling you're just arguing for the sake of arguing (trolling).

So my statement still stands about Escapists and our knack for horrible analogies that don't even apply. Seriously you guys, don't quit your day job.

I didn't like this one as much, too whimsical and airy fairy, maybe I just like my music rockier.

I still don't like it either.

Personally, while I realise out 'n' out slagging-off isn't constructive, I think having negative feedback is important. If we didn't speak up, it'd be assumed that we liked it. If it transpired that most people didn't like this series, I'd hope The Escapist staff would pull it in favour of trying a different contribution.

As an artist, I'm sure she has potential... but her style and subject matter are so juxtaposed it's painful!!

Reading isn't your friend, is it?

Edit: Actually no, you're a bit of a lost case. You need a full time teacher.

Now you're not even making a point, you're just outright flaming. Why are you even here? I'm a little embarrassed for getting trolled so easily but seriously, I don't understand you at all.
