Sheesh, didn't anyone actually read the OP? It's not who your favorite bands are. It's not "list as many metallish bands you can think of so complete strangers may or may not think you're cool" Whatever. Here are my suggestions, I loved this music until I grew out of it, now I almost despise it.

The Vandals
The Dwarves
Bouncing Souls(they kinda sold out in the 2000s)
You should enjoy these, and they should be a progression towards "harder" stuff.

Also, there's this great Canadian band. they've broken up, but their music still rocks: The Headstones

When you're ready to expand your horizons, I suggest Rush. Seriously, one of the greatest bands of all time, no exaggeration.

I third this!
I have a Beatles poster too, plus every single song of theirs.
Plus, I have to say that this is officially the greatest music video ever.

Here are a list of bands I listen to, in my opinion these guys are all awesome:

And So I Watch You From Afar (Check out 'Set Guitars To Kill' and 'Don't Waste Time Doing Things You Hate')
Followed By Ghosts (Check out 'Clear Blue Sky')
Long Distance Calling (Try 'The Nearing Grave' or 'Sundown Highway')
Múm ('Sing Along' or 'Prophecies & Reversed Memories')
Mar ('A Celebration' or 'Icarus', you might have trouble finding this band on youtube)

I could go on and on since there are so many great bands I know that don't get nearly enough credit.

Also Reel Big Fish are awesome.

Choking Victim and Leftover Crack since you like ska and Flogging Molly, they do a nice punk and ska mix. Sambomaster because they are just awesome.

My favorite bands are Swans, maudlin of the Well, and Boris. But they might be to out there to recommend to average citizenry. Give Swans White Light from The Mouth of Infinity a try if you want to try to get into them, it's how I was introduced. Bath is maudlin of the Well's most accessible album. Pink for Boris.

Get the LED OUT!!!

Aside from Led Zeppelin, some of my favorites are Bob Dylan, AC/DC, The Beastie Boys, The Rolling Stones, or Iron Maiden.

*INSERT MY FAVORITE BAND HERE*

Everyone is doing just that, kinda pointless. I would attempt to provide a good list of artists who have proven to be superb, but they will only be drowned in every other post.

Daft Punk or Chicane. One is Dance Techno the other is Trance Techno. Both great.

And Flogging Molly: Irish rock

This. It's what almost every topic of this sort degenerates into. If I was the OP I probably wouldn't feel very motivated to search through all these half-hearted recommendations to find the ones people actually put some thought into.

And in case that sounded familiar to you at all, here's why:
Yep. From Billy & Mandy.

And what is probably their most popular song:

The title pretty much sums it up. Some of my favorite bands are Flogging Molly, Arctic Monkeys, Anamanaguchi, The Hoosiers,Jonathon Coulton, and Reel Big Fish, so stuff along those lines would be cool. So escapists, what do you recommend?

EDIT: Thanks for the recommendations so far guys, but I'm also not against broadening my horizons. So just your favorite bands, or just some obscure stuff would be awesome.
Voltaire MY FAV BAND!

Bah, ninja'd.

So I'll just post a few of my favorite songs from him:

You know, it's hard to just post those 3. I said I wanted to list my "favorites" then I realized I like all of them.
Damn man, you have great taste!
