Cowboy Bebop, for the Xth time ;-)
Death Note, same as above.
Kurozuka, short anime (12 episode's), fast stylised action, great story
Shikabane Hime Aka and Kuro (season 1 and 2), just started it but the impressions are good.

Gundam 0079: The 8th MS Team
Gensomaden Saiyuki
Spiral

That is my personal favorite list, without the classics of Trigun, Witch Hunter Robin, and Cowboy Bebop. I suggest you invest in all of them.

sorry to be rude. but your opinion convinced me to register and say this... spiral was a waste of my money. i'd rather watch reruns and saiyuki was cool when i was 12? and i hate old school gundam. cowboy bebop is a legend anime. surprisingly full metal alchemist is a very good series. and no one can miss out on gto!

My favorite is Crayon Shin Chan, the Japanese version, not that crap that they made for Adult Swim that everyone seems to love.
well, cowboy bebop, code geass, death note, and full metal alchemist were on there and they definately do not suck.

Watch Baccano. Immortal mafia gangsters, and a pretty random pair of thieves, do i need to say more?

Rurouni Kenshin is Highlander in Meiji-era Japan, not that there's anything wrong about that.

Anyway, I recommend Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Oh, and 08th MS Team.

I thought the second arc of Death Note was complete garbage, for reasons which I can't really get into here (too many spoilers). It's the whole "Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker" thing, where the awesome antagonist/villain becomes a completely different person for no good (in my opinion) reason. The first story arc is solid gold, however.

Okay skip everything else and go watch the Kenshin OVAs. Generally considered the best piece of anime ever produced.
I'd agree, but I think they have a much bigger impact after having seen the series (apart from the awful final arc). Although seeing Kenshin become what he is in the final OVA is quite jarring after getting used to the character of the series.

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is a really creepy yet awesome series.

Michiko to Hatchin is pretty sweet as well

Bokurano is another one of my favorites

I don't think you understand. I was saying that I don't like the ADULT SWIM VERSION of Shin Chan. I only like the Japanese language version. I never said that any of the cartoons that you mentioned were on crap. And the rule applies for them as well, I don't like dubbed anime.

Ok, so I have desperately wanted to watch a good anime but I've been out of the loop and I have no idea what animes are on the scene now that are good. I love adult-oriented stuff (no kiddy crap), and my fav animes include Fullmetal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Serial Experiments Lain, and the Hellsing OVAs. Any help guys?

Oh, and on the same topic, I heard about a site that streams every anime show for free? Is this a myth?

This has been done too many times.

Welcome to the NHK. Best anime ever.
Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv51zeP03L4&feature=PlayList&p=B8A3FC995513A41B&index=0&playnext=1

For the second question: veoh.com and youtube.com stream most animes.
Thats how I lost my innocence.
umm a good anime? you said no kiddy crap. I would say naruto(shippuden), bleach and one piece but I don't know if you consider them kiddy. I know they are not the most intense series out there but there still really goo..........You want adult? Heres adult. Suzuka. Bokura no.( its kids, but very mature anime) Gundam 00( both seasons) its not really adult but its definatly not for 12 year olds.

*Rade travels to her Anime folder*

Hellsing: Always good to watch, although I'm not sure how much of it there is. I've got the anime, and then the anime that follows the manga.

Deathnote: Haven't watched this yet, but from what I hear, it's a bit of win.

Full Metal Alchemist: This is a fantastic anime, but the movie is a bit iffy.

Witchblade: Great comic, and from what I've seen from the anime, it's a good one too.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: This is honestly the most bizarre series I've ever watched. I liked it, but it's an acquired taste.

Last Exile: Steampunk anime based around an air race. Very good :)

That's Rades pick =]
