I don't. Read an American comic, like iron man, or the watchmen. The art is better and the stories aren't all about only robots, sex, or ninja's.
...I think if you did your research you'd find there's more to Anime than bad art, sex and ninjas.

Like retardation. ;)

I would suggest against death note if you like consistency.. Something death note frankly lacks.

Cowboy Bebop. Do it.
it's true, Cowboy Bebop is such a good, yet unknown, anime, one of the best in it's class.
Cowboy Bebop is really good, but if you think it's unknown then look around. Almost everyone that's heard about anime has heard about Cowboy Bebop.

If you really want something that's good and Unknown, then try Welcome to the NHK.

Definetly Death Note, no kiddie crap, great plot and characters, and only 35 eps. so it dosent overstay it's welcome. This is a VERY good site to watch Death Note
http://watchdeathnotenow.com/category/death-note-episodes
However, it streams the videos from Megavideo, so unless you are a member, you can only watch 72 minutes of videos, and then you have to wait about an hour for it to reset.

Monster
Gundam 0079: The 8th MS Team
Gensomaden Saiyuki
Spiral

That is my personal favorite list, without the classics of Trigun, Witch Hunter Robin, and Cowboy Bebop. I suggest you invest in all of them.

And I know I'm going to get stoned, but try Bleach. Just skip few fillers...
BLEACH HAS NO FILLER! Except when they're switching between the Aiden Arc and the Bount Arc...those stuffed animals are f**king annoying.

You want to talk about filler, watch Naruto. (muttering to self)I mean, a little filler to get to the end of a season is one thing, but have a little restraint.

No I'm not a rabid Bleach fanboy. Nor do I hate Naruto. I just like the series(pl.) and hate it when someone points out non-existent issues in those series(pl.).

Anyway, my recommendations are Soul Eater and Chrome Shelled Regios. I watch all my anime at anime media. Subtitles ftw!!

Gah! Now I have to go watch Soul Eater again! Only downside is Excalibur...

Last Exile: Has giant airships with lots of guns, flying hippie-van-wingless-biplanes, the Silvana, unfortunately gets quite weird at the end, but verry good up till then.

Wrong. Bount Arc and Sousuke Amagai Arc were all fillers. So was Soccer Game (ep. 204 and 205) and few other episodes.

They were made so that the manga writer has time to continue the plot. And to make sure anime doesn't catch up with the manga...

God Damn Me!

I forgot about Last Exile. Great graphics, story, characters and pretty cool air battles.

I would recommend Afro Samurai. Extremely violent and it has one of my all time favorite anime villains.
You already like the Hellsing OVA's...hmmm...Yu Yu Hakusho?

...Okay, then. Apparently someone doesn't know a lot about manga and anime.

And the reason why I don't read American comics is because the majority of them are about superheroes. I'd like to read something a little more...you know...creative.

Most? You mean there's comics that aren't about super heroes in tights? Well, newspaper comics aside, but we just call those 'funnies'.

Anyway, personally, I liked Spiral, Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann, GaoGaiGar (OVA especially) , Super Robot Wars Original Generation: Divine Wars, Death Note, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Stellvia of the Universe. I think there were others I watched but I can't remember them so they couldn't have been that good.

Really? How does Misato fit in with the idea lack of juvenile silliness in the series then?

My recommendation for a mature anime that absoultely never takes advantage of the average otakus nudity fixation? Elfen Lied.

*hacks up arbitrary list and recommended sites*

I'm not a supporter of fansbubs since it doesn't support the creator/industry. I cannot recommend this site enough, especially in their always bargain bargain bins. You can even just buy the first disc if you want, and if you don't like it, give it away and don't get the rest. And you're out as little as $3.00. Not a big cry.

*bows down to....*

RIGHT STUF INC. (yes, it's spelled with one "F")

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/

As for my fave series/current interests:
Neon Genesis Evangelion (oldie, but mindfuckery goodie)
FLCL, aka Furi Kurki, aka Fooly Cooly aka WIN! Probably my all time favorite series evar
Elfen Lied
Azumanga Daioh (yes, it's cute, and fairly kid-friendly, but it's got enough cultural references and great characters to more than make up for its lack of tits and blood)
Record of Lodoss Wars (older series, but pretty music and great DnD type high fantasy storytelling)
Excel Saga (keep going with it, last episode is a riot!)
Cowboy Bebop (what else can be said..it's Cowboy freakin Bebop, jeez)
Death Note (mmm...Death note. I'm getting vol 9 today)
Petshop of Horrors (manga's better, but series is worth a short OAV check out if you just want a taste)
Kinos Journey (started watching this one..it's slow, but good. Like hot chunky soup on a cold day type good, not like chocolate covered Johnny Depp at your front door good)
Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate (anime vampires = awesome always..well, except maybe for the series Nightwalker, Midnight Detective, but it's so awful my friend and I had a good time making fun of it, so I guess that's still win)
Tekkonkinkreet (great little under appreciated movie gem. I borrowed my copy from the library and liked it alot)

Also, check out
http://animenfo.com/

For reviews, search anime by title, distributor, genre, etc. etc. Some reviews are better written than others, but it's still a good site for browsing.
