I feel quite proud, being the first an all.

I have always been "exposed" to more mature things, except anything sexual. So I guess I never succumb to the atmosphere or shock of the films.
Me too, hell, the first film I ever watched was Terminator 2.
Child's play, imagine that film at about 7 years old, not so much as a nightmare.

Edit, I might have been a tad older than that.

Have you ever seen Cube? If you haven't I would strongly recommend it.
It's not a regular horror per-say, it's more like the first SAW movie.
It has all the psychological horror parts, minus the terrible attempt at a story.
You actually get very little information on the story, as you only know what the characters know, but because of that I found myself curled up in ball yelling at the characters on the screen, and making new hypothesises about what was going on every 5 minutes.

True, but Terminator 2 was age 2. The atomic bomb sequence in all its glory.

I saw the Exorcist when I was 5, and Alien when I was 12. I still found Alien ridiculously scary.
I didn't have a great attention span that young so I could never dream of watching a film that young.

Black Christmas though may not be as good as I remember, since I got to see it at a special 25th anniversary screening and the crowd was pretty pumped.
It's better than you remember, and it's pretty much the first film to ever use the 1st person angle of the killer. That alone makes it a little interesting to watch.

I vote Black Christmas, just for the love of god don't ruin it by watching the sequel, or the remake or whatever the shit that came out recently was.

Also, like mentioned by many others earlier, The Orphanage, and all the Japanese stuff, it's really sketchy.

(by the way, the original Black Christmas was from about 1972 or something)

Take the advice of most before me and watch some good ol' Evil Dead 2. I myself am quite new to the horror scene, but I've had a fair bit of help from the wise old horror guru they call James Rolf.

I had quite good attention span till I started eating lots of sugar.

I could certainly watch a 2 hour movie, anyway. I didn't understand most of it, but it was pretty powerful images. The Terminators at the start, walking in the ruins, that sticks with me to this very day.
Moving images and 'splosions keep you interested, were as I was making a mess.

IT and the Shining were some pretty good ones. Watch IT if only for Pennywise(just heads up though, the ending sucks).

Yes, I never moved around much as a child, so you could just plonk me in front of a screen for hours.

Sort of the reason I play videogames.
I only play games 'cos theres nothing else better to do, don't want to learn an instrument, can't draw or write and I hate sports.

Now I am the most patient person I know, weird how things work out.

I'm glad to hear that. I was thinking my bias towards movies filmed in places near where I grew up and live(Ginger Snaps and Black Christmas were both filmed in the GTA), as well as seeing movies with the right audience, might have made me see the movie in a more favorable light.

Maybe I should see about setting up a "Christmas in April" screening for my friends.

More movies I remembered: White Zombie (from 1932), Suspira, Dead Alive and The Shining.

Oh, and I also feel that I should recommend The Loved Ones. Because Power Tools have never been as much fun as they were in that movie. Which you should watch. Repeatedly.
