I wish I could say Monsters vs Aliens so instead I'll agree with the Evangelion rebuilds or maybe the Cowboy Bebop movie

Princess Mononoke is Miyazaki's best film in my opinion so it should be here.
Princess Mononoke is an awesome film, but personally I prefer Grave of the Fireflies. I reckon that's Miyazaki's best film.

Actually, just watch every Studio GHibli film, they're all awesome, even the ones that are okay are still pretty awesome XD

I can't believe no one else listed this. It's a masterfully crafted film with beautiful art and a story that uses only 12 MINUTES of dialogue in the entire movie.
Not to mention the cute factor.

well, I know a truly good (3D) animated movie, which I think was tv only, but I dont remember the name, and I really want to know it =P

it was a steampunk styled movie, set in some planet (a future earth I believe), where people lives in the skies on a huge blimp, and they fight sky pirates and stuff, and the armies were separated in two, flyers and plane pilots, and there was some sort of monster in the lower air streams

some sort of WaterWorld, but in the sky, they used to air it on Nickelodeon a while ago (as in, 6 years or so) and since then I really wanted to see it again, yeah, that good it is

It's Disney, that's why no one mentioned it.

The Belleville Rendezvouz is very good, if a little French.

Howl's Moving Castle is... Weird, but not in a bad way.

The Resident Evil Animated movie wasn't all that bad.

People are obviously going to say Advent Children, because Final Fantasy.

I've never seen Spirited Away, but I hear it's very good.

well, seeing as how everyone seems to be listing anime movies, I'm gonna be different and say South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut. Seriously, if you have ever liked South Park, to any degree, you will love this movie.

I haven't really seen many animated movies, but Spirited Away is a damn good movie. Probably one of my favorite movies of all time.

I recommend Batman: Under the Red Hood. The dialogue isn't the best... although, that is probably mainly an attempt to make the film more accessible to those unfamiliar with the comics, so it's with pure intentions... it still tells a good story, even better than the comic, IMHO. It's almost definitely the best in the DC Universe animated films. Speaking of, I also reccommend Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, but not nearly as much as B:UtRH

What else... The Iron Giant is very good.

Edit: CRAP CRAP I WAS TOO SLOW.

Everything by hayao miyazaki is awesome, but have gotn mentions (didn't see someone mention porco roso and the cat return yet though..)
i'dd also have to agree on "the fantastic mr. fox" beeing an awesome movie.

now to mention something not mentioned yet:
The sky crawlers.
Sword of the stanger.

both pretty good movies in my opinion. ^^

oh and also: Lupin III vs Conan. pretty cool crossover movie since i'm a fan off both series.
also Lupin III: castle of cagliostro should also be watched.. ^^ (haya miyazaki was involved in castle of cagliostro, that should raise your expectations of the movie to a apropriate level.. : D)

He said no disney films.
And yes they are all amazing.
Well then I've clearly misread the OP, and I'm very sorry.
Other than Disney Films... I guess I could recomend giving 9 a rental. I never finished watching it, and though confused, I was relatively intrigued by it at the same time. Interesting concept, and very good animation.

I was going to recommend that steampunk reworking of Treasure Island, but since Disney flicks aren't allowed...

I would definitely recommend Tokyo Godfathers. It's a movie about some hobos, in Tokyo, that adopt an abandoned baby, learning more about themselves and each other in the process.

I thought Ponyo was a great movie, although most of my like of it can be attributed to Liam Neeson's voice. Mmmmmm, Liam Neeson (Not gay).

While I'm at it, does anybody remember when Toonami had a month of Miyazaki movies? That was awesome! They should do that again!

EDIT: Shit, I just remembered that Ponyo had Disney involvement. I change my answer to the original Frosty the Snowman. Nobody's posted that, right?
