Take her and all people like her, and attempt to hit them with a bus. They should be fine, God will protect them
Ahahahahaha! Nice that! :D

OT: Never underestimate the power of idiots and extremists (is there actually a non-idiotic extremist?). Since they apparently have nothing better to do, they could theoretically devote themselves to the task with an extreme amount of passion. Logic is your key here. Fighting fire with fire is out of the question.

THE ONE WEAKNESS OF THE FANATICALLY RELIGIOUS RESIDES BELOW

Logic. Go talk to the crazy ***** and calmly and methodically tear down her entire argument. If she screams and rants then tell her that anger is not condoned by her God (make sure to include the word 'her' as it implies that there are other God(s) of equal importance which goes against her monotheistic approach). Also tell her that whenever she goes to church and worships God, that she is worshipping a false God as by her beliefs, God is beyond our logic and yet the fact that humans (priests) can somehow know the mind of God (main reference being that if you confess God forgives, if you don't you go to hell (as this approach implies that his logic is, in fact, quite simple to understand)).

IN SUMMARY: Use logic against her to destroy her entire argument but do it calmly and rationally. Also make sure to, in a semi-subtle way, imply that her beliefs are stupid (the key is to say it politely and almost as a side comment so that it is harder to respond to because she will have to figure out what was meant first and by that time you are aleady destroying the next part of her argument)
EDIT: ooh, ooh, ooh I came up with another argument to use (as it is best to keep them on edge by constantly changing the focus of the argument). Bring to her attention the fact that her God 'supposedly' gave people free will and by attempting to force her beliefs on others she is attempting to take away God's gift to you.

As I think somebody said before, she probably just wants a scapegoat to explain the changing behavior of her son and his friends (I.E. Puberty). But so long as she doesn't get the backing of any other parents, you're fine.

...

Also, burning her house down probably won't do anything.

How exactly would you do that, I would love to argue theology with you.

That is the most irrational ?locic?al argument I have heard when talking about dogmatic belief.

You have no logic apart from calling her stupid, if she doesn?t agree.

If she's so worried, tell her to put her son in another school. One which isn't awesome enough to have Steam on the PCs!

Ignore her. All what she is to your school is another bible-wanking fucknugget who's clamoring for attention. Eventually, she'll fuck off.
Yes. That summarises everything, thank you.

I don't mind if someone practises a religion in their own time; it's their life, and they can do what they like.
But you should not force your beliefs onto someone else just because you THINK (not know) that you are right.
but thats the problem, these people have no doubt that they are right, and they think all other beliefs are wrong

it is this certainty that causes them to force their beliefs on other people. its exactly like normal people forcing the belief of evolution onto other people, we just have a tad more evidence

"I can do what I want as long as I say God told me to do it!"
- Religious extremist

I'm in a bit of a pickle. In my high school, we are allowed to download and play games, borrow comics (Japanese and American alike) from the library, and do whatever during free time. It rocks, somewhat. But out of the blue (or maybe there was a build up I'm not sure), a parent decided that she should throw her beliefs all over the school. She's trying to get all the comics out of the library because of references to Satanism and evil and ooh scary stuff, and delete all the games (a lot of computers have steam for gaming during free breaks. you need a special pass though) because guns were created by the devil or something.

Now, i'm all for freedom of speech or the right to believe anything you want, but when you think that God told you himself that you should save this school for the evils of entertainment (or should I say enterTAINTment) then you've got to be a little loony. And yes, folks, she did say that. Here are some quotes from her letter the teacher sent out, its part of a 'parents speak' section in the newsletter:

"Kids these days are being controlled by the evil that is contained within the manga and comics. I do not allow my son(Poor guy) to partake in these activities because they take time away from what is truly important - the love of God. Every day I come to pick up my son I see the children absorbed in killing people and reading about the devil. I want to do what I can to help these kids realize the waste of their soul. Together we can overcome this addiction (Apparently to her an addiction is something you somewhat enjoy and have done more than once).

So what do you think of this, Escapist? Wait, before you answer I've prepared a FAQ for expected questions.
1. Let her do what she wants you have no right to stop her what if someone ______ YOUR _____?
I will not let her do what she wants because this affects me, and a lot of other students.

2.-insert personal religious opinion-
Great, I don't care. how about telling me what you think of her religious opinion?

3. She's right games and comics are a waste of time get rid of them throw them away BURN THEM!
Thank you for your input. I'm not going to flame you or anything.

4. If someone believes that God told them something to do then what's wrong?
Well there's a difference between doing just that, and acting on what you have been 'told', especially if its something like this.

Okay, now you can post. Sorry.
Thanks for your input.
im just throwing this thing out here kinda like a checkpoint, for people to refer to, and to get the guys attention

is this what you were hoping for??

1. Say that your God told you to have to play voilent games, so if she deletes them, she have offended your relegion

2. Tell the principel that her kid, secretly told you that his mom toutched him.
Even though the mother and her son would say it never happend, you would have the benefit of the doubt. If theres one thing schools takes serius its that kind of stuff.

3. Say to her "If you dont stop ruining my fun, God told me to kill you"

How ecatly would you do that, I would love to argue theology with you.

That is the most irrational ?locic?al argument I have heard when talking about dogmatic belief.

You have no logic apart from calling her stupid, if she doesn?t agree.
Well basically say these things to her .. preferable in this order
Me: "If you wouldn't mind, I would greatly appreciate it if you would stop trying to force you hypocritical and irrational beliefs on me and my school peers."
Her: "*crazy rant about the truthfullness of God*"
Me: "That is all well and fail but seeing as you worship a false idol I don't believe you are any judge of what passes as an acceptable belief system."
Her: "*interrupts with silly stuff about saving souls or whatnot (the key point to this argument is to ignore anything and everything she says and just finish what you have to say as though she never spoke)*"
Me: "I say false idol as your chosen belief system indicates that the logic of your (emphasis on your)God is beyond the comprehension of human kind and yet in the same beath, the God you go to church to worship is seemingly very ordered and quite easy to understand, such as with the rite of reconciliation where a priest, or in layman's terms, a misguided human being, somehow knows the mind of God and also is able to guarantee that God shall forgive you if you seek forgiveness, which is too predictable by human standards for a being of incomprehensible logic. Furthermore (this is where I would change topic to stop her from forming any argument), you are also attempting to take away your God's supposed gift to humanity of 'free-will'. If God gave us free will then it isn't your place to try and take that away from us and, if anything, you could be considered, from your own religious view, to be working for the devil as you are working against the working of "God" (use finger quotation marks when saying God).
Her: "I am a devout Christian *bleh*"
Me: On top of all this your entire belief is based around a book which had 100 years to be manipulated by the church, in case you don't get it, during the medieval times, the bible was abused by the Church to manipulate the citizens of the Kingdom for personal gain. (At this point, mention that this is actually glutony and that the Pope himself/selves were guilty of such a sin). It has also been shown that many Gospels were excluded from the Bible and the fact that the Gospels that are in the bible are so similar indicates that those that were in contradiction with what the Church wanted to portray ere removed as it is highly unlikely that all the Gospels were so similar in their description. And, fun fact, the vatican actually voted on Jesus' status of 'divinity'.
(change of focus yet again).
If God truly loves all people equally then why the FUCK (include the swear word to piss her off) would he let children get AIDS and DIE in Africa without ever giving them the chance to escape the horrific poverty in which they are trapped?? Why would he let people believe things different to what he 'apparently' told us, unless he was fine with it??? Why wouldn't he smite those he caused wars and therfore caused the deaths of millions, and he obviously could have seeing as, according to your belief, is omniscient, meaning he would be able to tell if a person would end up doing such a thing???

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the pre-enactment of my argument with her if I was forced to confront her beliefs.

. . . guns were created by the devil or something.
Funnily enough (I've just remembered this), the first guns were in fact invented by a monk after he took a trip to china and discovered black powder. Of course, he was later excommunicated for claiming that it was refracted light and not a magic man in the sky that caused rainbows, but by then the idea of guns had caught on. Unfortunately the church shut him up about light and Isaac Newton had to discover it all over again during a time when people were less stupid (apparently).

What other people's kids read or play is none of her damn business. We had crazy parents at my high school, but none of them went out of their way to control what the rest of us had access to. This woman is clearly not in her right mind. Also, as previous posters had stated, she has no right to do this if it's a public school. I do feel bad for her kid though, I'm sure he's none to thrilled about his mom pulling this shit.

I think she's bat shit crazy. I hope your school decides not to take her seriously because there is a few flaws with her idea. Number 1, God dosen't exist. Don't even start on me religous people, first give me some solid scientific proof and we can go from there. 2, It's none of her fucking business what the school does and what it's policies are, this is typical Fundamentalist christian behavior. "Hey I believe in something completely bat shit crazy and I want everyone else to join in my delusion."
