And here we have another case of, it's the alcohols fault. It is not the alcohols fault!
A responsible person wouldn't have drunk that much or even thought about driving, even though he was drunk.

The responsibility lies in the person himself. Alcohol was just a small part of it.
I said 'influence' I didn't say alcohol was solely to blame.
Ah, sorry I seem to have missed that part, my bad.

We're cool right?

Since it seems you don't take the time to read before you post and are quick to judge much like the very people you are condemning, I'll go ahead an repost this.

oh what the fuck ever...I skimmed over the goddamned article cause I was in shock!!!!.....that still doesn't change the fact that Im sickened, irritated, pissed off by all the people who are going 'rot in hell Dunn' or 'no sympathy from me'
Fine you can be pissed I don't care but I'm pissed also but here is why

1. Dunn was the one drinking and driving he could have someone pick him and his friend up or hell get a taxi

2. He not only got himself killed but the person riding with him, and he could have killed others.

3. He didn't die because of a botched stunt, he died like ever other idiot who drinks and drives.

See Dunn is dead and has all his love from his fans, but I doubt the other guy will get a second thought same if Dunn took others lives with his because he chose to do something so stupid. How is it fair someone else's life is lost because of someones stupid choice, I wanna know how you feel if this happened to someone you loved.

Meh, I don't agree that it's "always sad when someone dies". It's certainly not that sad when someone dies being a complete assclown.

Why are you so upset that people aren't showing sympathy for a man who was reckless enough to drive at such excessive speeds and be responsible for both his own life and that of the passenger?

I'm actually curious.
Its more about the fact that two lives were tragically lost as a result of this accident
That's assuming that he was speeding and/or drunk.

"Speeding may have been a factor" is not proof of speeding, it's speculation. Aliens may have shot his car with a pulse beam and set it on fire for all we know. Maybe it was a vehicle malfunction or something ran out into the road and they swerved to avoid it. We don't know.

As for the picture; There's a picture of him having one drink hours before the accident. We don't know that he was drunk. We don't know that he had more than one drink, let alone enough to impair him. One drink isn't enough to get everyone drunk. Some of us can handle more than that. And some of us can shrug off a few drinks, especially after a few hours.

Let's all just cut the cynicism and passing off speculation as fact, and either pay our respects, or stay out of the thread.

RIP Ryan Dunn.
in hindsight I do admit that my stating alcohol as a potential influence and getting in the 'he was speeding' camp even though its not yet clear whats responsible for the wreck is jumping the shark abit. But thats besides the point we should either be here as you said to pay respects or reminisce and if not those two theres really need to come here!

RIP Ryan Dunn.....Salute *downing a shot in his memory*

Well, at the very least a celebrity dying due to drunk driving might make people think before they get in the car and do it themselves.

this isnt my name said:
He deserved it. All drink drivers do imo, its one think to risk your life, its another to risk other peoples.

I also find this quite stupid, people are mourning the los of a guy who got famous for doing stupid, unproductive shit. Anyone going to post a thread for every dead doctor, nurse, policeman, soldier, etc ?
It was a lot more then "Stupid, unproductive shit". No one did what those guys did at the time, they were just lovable rebels who made us cringe and laugh (for those who watch it)

No one deserves to die like that, its a shame you feel like that.

He always appeared to be a decent person to me. I'm saddened by his passing, though very disappointed by the whole drunk driving thing.

I wonder how his coworkers will take it. All the guys who worked on Jackass always seemed fairly close...

That's fucked up. Too bad many people here have their opinion ready. I'm just sad it happened, nothing more, nothing less.

I hate to say it but him and his friends did many, MANY dangerous things. Sadly it doesn't surprise me that "Speed may have been a factor". Live by the sword and all that....

He or his friend drove drunk and endangered the lives of others. The good thing is that their stupidity only ended their own lives.

Seriously though I looked up the road they crashed on, Route 322 in Pennyslvania, it's a fucking highway. They also crashed so violently that the car caught fire, three hours after he'd taken a picture of himself and two friends drinking together in a bar.

If any normal person had done this the world would say "Good thing they didn't kill any innocent bystanders" but because this guy is quasi celebrity he gets the childhood hero card?

He was an idiot, and he died of that idiocy.
