OT: Lazlow never was funny. His "shows" were full of bullshit, just like him.
The parents who do buy adult games for their kids will never get that message. They just buy their kids whatever they want to shut them up, or they let the kids use their allowances indescriminately.
Wow I wish I could say this as well, at parents evenings. Your child can't read because you are a dumb shit who has never encouraged them too, your child cannot keep quiet in class because you have never forced them to do something they didn't want to do in life and they are malnourished because your new car was far more important than fruit and veg!

I hate the fact that many parents today are apathetic up until anyone calls them out on it and then they are vocal. They won't teach their kids morals but will attack a school if it criticises the morals of their precious little spawn.

However my Mum bought GTA 3 for me when I was about 11 or 12. In the end it comes down to if your children are mature enough to handle what they are seeing. If you are well enough informed to make the correct decisions and if you get it right then you're a good parent, no matter what you buy them or show them.

I've always found it amusing, but with the explanation as well, just down right funny. I'm rather annoyed that people would message you about it though, it just seems some people can't have fun.Jack and Calumon said:

I was playing GTA when I was 13, and you know what...amazingly I am not a murdering psyco. its all about the personality of the child (a how the parents raise it)
if the kid is a brat then no GTA is not the best game to give it (a slap would be much better)
if the child is responsible and mature then yes, let them have a go on it, if they show any signs of violence take it away. so boiling it down parents should stop passing on the blame to companies like rockstar when there little timmy runs around the street with a meat cleaver, and look at there own faults.

Well, I have issues with some of this. Grand Theft Auto IV didn't push the boundaries very far in my opinion, so holding it up as an example strikes me as being a bit ironic. Actually content wise it seemed to backpedal away from the elements of games that made "Manhunt" and "San Andreas" so contreversial.
Perhaps there isn't much "pushback" but then again Rockstar has folded every time it's been questioned. The "Hot Coffee" thing and of course the "Manhunt 2" fiasco. I actually lost a lot of respect for them when they didn't fight, and am one of those who has argued that "San Andreas" was a much better game overall than "Grand Theft Auto IV".
