I can't see Apple buying Disney. If that ever did happen, I think it'd signal the End of Days.
EA? Possibly. Not likely, though. I mean, WHY? I could see them churning out several terrible games under an Apple umbrella. Apple doesn't do games all that well.

Disney - Generally successful animation studio. Home to Pixar, another product of Steve Jobs (a company that has not ever made anything save hit movies). Owns significant assets related to the production of films and other entertainment products. Generally represents an extension of Apple's capabilities more directly into the entertainment space. Significant real estate holdings with several lucrative properties including Disney World/Land.
Are you kidding me? The Walt Disney corporation is literally one of the most powerful companies in the world. I'd put about as much stock into Apple being able to buy out the Disney corporation as, say, Apple buying out Microsoft. It won't happen any time soon.
Current market value is estimated to be ~51 billion USD. Notably, 10 billion USD More than Sony.

Hehe, It'd be quite a nice reversal to see EA getting bought and ruined for a change.

That said, if Apple bought Adobe, it's game over. They already have the best video editing software with Final Cut Pro- if Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Indesign etc went Mac exclusive, then Apple would gain a total monopoly over office computing for at least the several years it would take for Microsoft to develop good enough rivals.

And I just upgraded my PC, too :(

The concept of an iSony literally strikes terror in my heart. It's not that I'm a ps3 fanboy. I have a lot of respect for Microsoft and even Nintendo but FUCK APPLE and it's non-apple app exclusion and its tiny finger requiring touch screens and faggy hipster douche fanbase. I have Sony everything, not just PS3. I've owned appliances, TVs, MP3 players, even Sony computers. I've never had a problem with a Sony product, not once. No company has created more stuff that I like. Apple will rape and violate it in every way possible to the point where it would be unrecognizable as the one brand I trust entirely in electronics and I'll have to buy Xbox consoles, HP computers and Samsung TVs.

Steve Jobs himself made it clear he doesn't want Apple to delve in the video game industry, so acquiring two of the biggest corporations involved in it seems a little fluffy.

Sony won't get a choice. The shareholders will, if an offer is made....

EA seems more likely - if Apple wants to expand their market on the desktop, they'll need games. Steam is a start, but getting EA porting, too, would be a big step and force the other publishers to take notice.

Sony and Apple do share a certain disdain for the consumer, though. they both love locking things down and making it tough for the consumer to modify their product of choice.... :p

Apple doesn't make bad hardware, but I'm not going to pay out the ass to get an Apple product. Sony and Apple both overprice their good hardware, but I like Sony only because they go for the best approach, instead of the minimalistic approachh. I don't care how sleek the touch screen is, it will never beat physical buttons.

EA is always linked with being bought by other companies, and I think it definitely will happen at some point in the next couple of years. They're not as big and rich as you would imagine and rely on a small number of franchises in order to survive.

So they will definitely get bought at some point.

Sony Computer Entertainment is also a lot smaller than you may think, and given that they lose money on every PlayStation sold then it is possible they could be bought by a larger manufacturer.

So you never know.....

Sony as a whole is monstrously huge. I'd be surprised if Apple was anything but a tiny bug compared to it. That said, Apple might have the ability to buy out just the PSP or SOE divisions.

I highly doubt Sony is interested in letting go of the PlayStation division or it's myriad of other consumer and industrial divisions. (Apple Aibo? Apple ImageWorks?)
