I really hope Rush isn't that stupid and is just playing a character or something.
Nobody... NOBODY should ever be that hopelessly stupid.

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't NPR publicly funded?Jhooud said:I think there's certainly a proportion of his audience who fits your theory, but I think there's a larger proportion who are true believers. I don't have hard data to back that up, but anecdotally I've seen enough folks who feel "Rush is right" to stick with my earlier point.SaneAmongInsane said:I have to ask, are we sure his audience is the one that agrees with him? I subscribe to the theory his bread and butter are liberals that listen to his show just to rage against it.
Cause think about it, if people listened to who they agree with politcally then why hasn't there been a successful Liberal talk radio program? Cause people are more attracted to negativity.
I'm sure this was just a calculated plot by Rush to get his name back in the media. He's a brilliant self-promoter and bullshit artist.
As far as a successful Liberal radio program, how about NPR? Not the same format, but certainly a good place for more progressive news and opinion, no?
Partially yes, but the largest proportion of their funding comes from individuals. [http://www.npr.org/about/aboutnpr/publicradiofinances.html]SaneAmongInsane said:correct me if I'm wrong but isn't NPR publicly funded?
"Anderson Cooper gay? Come on, if that man is gay, then I'm secretly a liberal." -- Stephen ColbertEddie the head said:This sounds like something Stephen Colbert would have said. Although it dose help me understand the people who don't realize Stephen Colbert is a satire.
suggesting it might be intentional when the movie was no doubt written way before romney was even in the primaries is insane in and of itself. There is no chance in hell it was intentional, and it's purposely misleading to suggest otherwise.JoeCool385 said:Did anyone actually click through to the transcript on his website? And, y'know, actually read what Rush said in context? He wasn't positing the idea that the character of Bane was created as a representative of Romney. He was commenting on a prior discussion elsewhere that people may associate the character Bane with Romney, and whether or not this was intentional:
"And there's now a discussion out there as to whether or not this is purposeful and whether or not it will influence voters.... There are some people who think it'll work. Others think you're really underestimating the American people to think that will work."
I suppose it's a lot more fun to just fly off the handle and believe any stupid thing we hear about people we don't like. Same can be said for Limbaugh fanatics as for his haters.
