Then go join the Tea Party 'cause for right now that's all you've got instead.
No it's not. I refuse to acknowledge the two party system, and the Tea Party is just an extension of the extreme Right-wing. I still vote for a Republican or a Democrat on occasion, sometimes I vote for nobody. But I don't limit myself to either side. I'm a independent/libertarian/socialist. It's just sad that we no longer have the option to vote for various people who cover the spectrum of American ideology.
I'm really not trying to be rude here, but libertarian/socialist are extremely opposing ideologies. Now, I'm sure what you mean is the personal freedom supported by the libertarian party along with the economic safety net of Socialism (do correct me if I'm wrong, but if that's the basic idea of where you're coming from I'm 95% behind you) but it seems a really odd classification when libertarians and socialists are usually so at odds.

i haven't read his words but i have heard them so i know he is about 95% shit but this proves that he isnt completely made of fecal matter. it doesn't make any sense to censor video games when they are art. while not every game is a Picasso or a Van Gogh, you can't say every game is evil and wicked and i hope it keeps our staus of freedom in the gaming industry

I don't know what to think about this. I mean, I really hate Rush Limbaugh's pro-right wing politics, and yet here he is defending video games' rights to free speech. One particular thing I'd like to highlight is this gem:

Rush Limbaugh said:
"If you're gonna start saying that video games are raunchy, then how the hell do you leave cable television alone?"
(Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.)
OK, so in this one particular way, he's not an ass.

Corrected.
Hardy har har. It's not a left/right issue, it's a matter of common sense and the constitution, which unlike certain crazies on the television will have you think, both sides support equally. That is to say, they both take equally giant missteps.
I agree. But he still supports freedom of speech due to his right-wing politics.

Oh shut up, there are plenty of those on the right that wish to censor free speech.

I agree, I never denied that fact. My point was that Rush Limbaugh's politics led him to support video games' rights to free speech.

I don't really know enough about Rush Limbaugh to have an actual opinion on him. I don't pay him enough attention. But nor do I pay any attention to a lot of people with extremist views. Much rather just watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

It's a good rule of thumb to avoid any "news source" with a political agenda. No matter what the politics, they tend to be utter idiots when they decide that the other side is "The Great Satan" and can never be right on anything. This is a major reason that I hate our current political climate in the U.S. And I'm not JUST hating on the Republicans for this.

However, despite however you feel about Limbaugh, you have to admit that in this case he is right. If it bothers you so much, comfort yourself with the fact that even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Did you go to the rally? I was there ^-^ was all kinds of awesome.

Maybe this right here is an example of sanity making a come back. We do agree with something someone on the other side is saying and we build a middle ground where all are safe.

The Rally to Restore Sanity? No... I really would of liked to, but there was no way I would have the money and time to make it to the rally. Did they do anything special?

What did ou expect? Liberals are the ones that like to have the government tell you how to live your life, not republicans.
Yeah that whole CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO BAN GAY MARRIAGE and that IF YOU ARE NOT WITH US YOU ARE WITH THE TERRORISTS bit were soooooooooooooooooo part of the liberal agenda.
Fact: Obama supported the USA PATRIOT Act and approved its renewal.

Fact: Obama has gone on record as saying he thinks marriage should be between a man and a woman and has yet to make any statement as to the constitutionality of states banning it.

Dude, you picked the wrong place to say that. :p[/quote]

Yes, I did. My bad. Stupid, silly me.

On a sidenote: Fact: Obama is not a progressive and has a set of conservative views; for example, those you mentioned...among others. Just because he's not a conservative does not mean he is the poster child of liberalism, no matter how hard the most extremist and loud sectors of the conservative movement make it seem. He just isn't.
