100% tea party's fault.

According to the CBO, entitlement outlays are growing faster than the GDP, and have been for some years now. If that problem isn't solved, then it doesn't really matter how the tax system is structured or what the rates are. There simply won't be enough value in the economy to pay for the government's policies.

That's the reasoning behind S&P's downgrade decision.

I'm just laughing. the politicians and parties went through all that political BS so the country wouldn't default and lose it's credit rating. And according the rating bureau (Standard & Poors) they are downgrading us because of all that political BS.

GO AMERICA!

Thank you tea party! You always know what's best for the American people. The CEO's hoarding billions should be completely untouched while the price of living continues to soar for the rest of America. And thank you inept monkeys of the American government for completely failing to provide an even remotely efficient plan to fix our growing debt. Oh well, we should just blame Obama.
Well, at least the Tea Party is consistent in screwing things up. Incredibly, because of this whole debt ceiling drama republican politicians are being polled pretty negatively by the majority, which I assume is the left and the right. All this tells me is that it takes a few crackpots with zero foresight and noisy radicalized views to ruin things for everyone.

As for our glorious el Presidente, an admitted Regan fan, he needs to stop trying to be an appeaser, grow a spine, and practice what he preached at his campaign. He can't win the republicans, there is no middle ground, John Boner is almost Blagojevich level corrupt, and the left needs a strong leader, not a partisan peacemaker.

Ultimately, people that voted in a bunch of fussy babies are to blame. They put the house in red hands, and this is us reaping the benefits.

we should just go to war with china, that way we dont owe them any money
Let's see ...

China has 300,000,000 soldiers.

The entire population of the US is about 300,000,000

This means that basically, if every man, woman and child, including criminals, the mentally unfit, infants, you, me and retirees were to arm themselves and go to war, the soldier ratio would be about 1 to 1.

Besides, look around your house at different items. Find the ones that say, "MADE IN CHINA". Now, remove those items. They kind of have us by the balls. We have no industry. We, as a nation, have lost the ability to build things. The things that we DO build usually fall apart just as fast as the Chinese stuff. Remember, those sweat shops in China that make things that we use every day are owned by the same greedy bastards who outsourced the jobs over there so they wouldn't have to pay as much. If they owned factories here, they'd still have the same mentality: "Make it cheap; who cares if it falls apart in a week?"

Sometimes, it's just funny to read the threads and laugh at how insane the commentary can be around here. I would have commented, but I think it would do as much good as trying to stop a bonfire with a dixie cup full of sand.

Good day to you all, enjoy your venomous and lunatic ravings which have the barest ghost of a relationship with reality.

This is annoying. Why do I have to graduate just as job opportunities in my field are the lowest ever due to all this? :(

I can't wait for the next boom to begin.

Well, I hope the silliness down south doesn't screw us up north. That's my piece.
Not much of a piece.

And by the way, it will. Enjoy!
The piece's size is directly proportional to the amount of which I care. The States is reaping what it has sown, I don't see why I need to suffer because of it.

And I won't.

there is one thing we still make, weapons, and we are pretty good at it, they might have 300,000,000 solders but that doesnt mean much with automatic weapons and bombs etc etc, besides, really unless we nuke each other, neither of us really has anything to gain from a war, neither country would want to occupy the other one, we would benefit because we could wipe out our debt and force jobs to come back here, ultimately a war with china benefits us the most, assuming that nukes dont get involved

The problem is that we, not you and me and the rest of the common folk, but the ones with money, don't want jobs here. If China were to get sucked into a black hole, we'd find some other country to do our labor. Why? To save $4 an hour per employee. :'-(

they would try but its harder then you think, india would be an obvious choice but still, if the proper incentives are offered we would at least get some jobs and such back

This is just madness...

Good fucking job, Republicans, for acting like petulant children and letting this happen. It's mostly your fault anyway, you war-mongering dolts. Over 7 trillion of this debt is made up by your party's unnecessary wars.

Growing debt? You should just shutup now since you obviously don't know anything about our debt levels, interest payments, or the reality of our economic situation.

I admit I don't know much about the Credit rating, but going from AAA to AA+ doesn't sound that bad. Oh course, there's undoubtedly much, much more to that.

Honestly this is both sides fault. Not just the Tea Party, S&P, among other things, said that both a lack of revenue and not enough cuts contribute to the downgrading. If I remember correctly, the left didn't want significant cuts, and the right didn't want significant revenue increases. The problem is that we need a lot of both cuts and revenue increases.

You're still forgetting that China has the US by the balls not just because they make everything americans use, but because they own enough bonds to crash America just by releasing them to the market.
