he never died!
Yeah there is that very non-canon story that shows how he survived, but considering how much else of that book has been overwritten by Lucas, it's debatable.

Oh and his death isn't really sad, more pathetic. Jet Pack set off accidentally by a blind Han Solo who was only vaguely aware he was there. Not cool :)

Bill from Left 4 Dead. :'(
Also, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Dutch Van der Linde from Red Dead Redemption. Was I the only one who felt really sorry for him? He was fighting an unwinnable battle with progress and the future was killing everything and everyone he held dear, I really sympathised with him.

The first playthrough of Mass Effect 2 when I was careless. Funnily enough it was Legion that got killed, which you think seeing as a) he was the last guy on board and b) he's a freaking robot wouldn't affect me too much. But it did, because I knew it was my fault. Which is why I think so many people have mentioned Fable.

Also Fallout 3, when a certain character dies. But it was my character I felt for, not the dead one. After all that time... devastating.

Luisa in Red Dead Redemption. She really believed that what she was doing would make Mexico a better place, that Abraham Reyes loved her, and that things would be OK after this revolution. Then she got shot, and Reyes didn't give 2 shits. I was annoyed, upset, and a little angry when that happened.

Oh, and the spider in Limbo. It's been stalking you relentlessly, and killing you in a number of painful and messy ways. But when it comes to you killing it, it looks kind of pathetic, and I felt a little bad. Thanks to bear traps and me dropping a rock on it, it was a much weakened foe, dragging itself along on its single remaining leg. Which I promptly pulled off, and then rolled its body into a pit of spikes so I could use it as a stepping stone. I felt bad about doing that, despite the many times the spider had eviscerated me.

I'd forgotten about this, but when I think back, I felt kinda shitty about it.
John should've been the one to kill him (with a bullet and all) but with a deep sadness in him, hesitation and sad music etc, instead of him just looking a bit guilty when Dutch jumped

Mine is from Skies of Arcadia when

The purple gigas dies. I don't know why, but that's the only time a videogame characters death has really had an effect on me.
I'm almost ashamed to admit that I choked up at Drachmas last words to him:
"Oh, I see... It's time for you to go... Time for you to join your friends..."

*Sniff* Goodnight, sweet prince.

When T. K. Baha died...he was my second favorite character, probably because everyone but him and Scooter were so unlikable, and Scooter was like, hey go talk to T. K. he must be lonely...turns out he died!

Forget Aeris, everyone close to Barret Wallace dies. Biggs, Wedge, and Jesse were killed when Shinra took out the entire Sector 7 Plate, and Dyne died twice.

In The Legend of Dragoon when Lavitz died I was so conflicted with emotions I could barely go on with the game. He was my favorite character and I had him with some amazing additions and weapons but after Albert joined I refused to use him and still to this day have never used Albert in a fight. Lavitz is the only TRUE Wind Dragoon.

Im actually throwing out Emile from Reach. He reallly did have much screen time at all, but he still managed to have in my opinion, the best death out of everyone but Noble Six. MAde me sad when I realized that they were gonna kil the whole team. Well, almost.

Wow, modern warfare 2 multiplayer ruined the whole reputation of the game. Even the epic Campaign. When Ghost and Roach died, I was sad and pissed off and shocked.

Boba did not die. I would explain, but I've got enough Star Wars nerding coming up in this following link:

In a game, however, I really was sad AND psyched that

Auron is dead.

He was too cool for school...

ALSO:

When Jenny kicks it in The Darkness. Sure she was a major plot point kinda character, but for the brief time I saw her, I got a good vibe from her. You could just tell that she was the one thing holding back the monster in the man for Jackie. I can relate.

Carmine. Both of them.
Carmine A had it better. He died from a headshot. Quick and painless. His brother, not so much. Dissolved by stomach acid in a giant worm. If Carmine C is supposed to die...I fear what EPIC will do to that unlucky bastard.

I know he doesn't die, he just doesn't show up in the movie again so he might as well be...
