Wow a simple slip up in phrasing, that's no way worse than not being able to realize that you can't eliminate a debt by spending more money.
uh... Did you think the stimulus was passed to reduce the debt?

Do you know how little money that actually costs when compared to Defense Spending, Tax Cuts for the top 2%, Bail-outs ?

In my experience, being a good speaker doesn't mean that a person is smart. It just means that they are good at communicating. The same idea goes in the opposite direction, a person doesn't have to be a good speaker to know what they are talking about. I've known a lot of people who were excellent in what they did but couldn't explain what they were doing at all.

I don't care what side a politician is on, I would never judge them for verbal slip-ups. What I do judge them on is their stance on the key issues and their ability to get stuff done.

Also, what Palin says doesn't make her nearly as stupid as you might think. Read a book called "The Dumbest Generation" to get an idea of what true stupidity is.

This woman could have a 5 minute, passing conversation with a 4th grade social studies student on a bus and still become more knowledgeable on the subject of geography.

You know, I'm ready to suggest that any idiot that makes a thread like this be outright banned for stupidity. Clearly we're not working on a level of political discussion that seeks to rise above mudslinging and propaganda. And speaking of which, why do you people insist on bringing this shit to Off-Topic? If you want to make half-baked posts containing superficial arguments based on smear campaigns, go to R&P. That way I can pretend you don't exist and you can pretend you know what you're talking about.

It's a win/win!!!
Why are Palin supporters always so eager to stamp out discussion of Palin's gaffes, even as they start dangling the "LOOK LOOK OVER THERE IT'S OBAMA/INSERT COMPLETE NONUNDERSTANDING OF ECONOMICS HERE" keys in front of everyone's faces?

Sarah Palin is cute, wears glasses and punches bears. What's not to like?
Seems to work well enough for the rest of her base, at least.

Still, she has a masters degree in Political Science. I can't blame her being a politician dealing with many issues at once, to confuse South and North Korea. Thou its kinda weird how much money she has, power, and fame and yet people still talk down to her, just cause shes a Republican, seriously any other party people would be praising her.
She's not a politician. She quit that job earlier. She stepped down from her position in order to pursue a more social position. She's now the star of a reality series, and is basically the figurehead for the current tea party/mama grizzly BS movement thing. Her attitude basically makes her this "down to earth" everyman sort of thing, but damn, if this is the American "everyman" then I'm afraid for the future. It means the everyman is just plain stupid.

Yeah I'm impressed by a Master's when she didn't know Africa is a continent and couldn't tell anyone a basic timeline of major American wars or what they were about. Political Science my ass.

Money, power, and fame means I should like her? That's a fucking odd view point. No, actually it's a weak, pathetic view point.

HAHAHAHA, YOU FOOLS!!!

The 2012 Mayan prophecy is starting to sink in a bit now eh?

Besides, presidents' not the president, you know that.

In all honesty, there is zero difference between republican or democrat. They are all related by blood or marriage, and do the exact same things. America has had a dynasty for I don't know how long.

All this bickering and side picking is irrelevent once you realize they own you.

Seriously, America? She makes Canadian politicians look keen and tactful. You should get rid of her as soon as possible.

On another note, I've been waiting for an occasion to use this:

If she's the next president I'm moving to Canada. I said that before the last elections as well.

To sound like a sexist pig, I know there's gonna be women who vote for her just because they want a woman in office.

My response is: Wait for a woman worth putting on the office, she is not qualified

Palin has no idea about anything going on in our country. Much like many politicians these days...

Seriously, it seems geography classes in USA suck, generalization and assumption of course. ;)
Tell me about it.

I grew up in a school that had about 13 kids in my grade (and two of them were me and my twin brother) Right before high school my family moved to a big city. Where I was than part of a class with 500 students. I was shocked when I was in a classroom of 30 kids; The teacher said Label all the oceans and continents. Me and one other student (my twin brother :p) were the only ones able to label all 7 continents and 4 oceans (yes I'm aware there are now, technically 5 oceans but this was 15 years ago) Most had far too many since he didn't say how many continents there are.
