what about Ico and Shadow of the Colossus? they are technically a series.veloper said:I really can't think of one series that is 100% perfect though.
ah, toucheFredrick2003 said:They are loosely connected, I wouldn't call them a series. The same way that Marathon is loosely connected to Halo, but they are not part of a series.madman485 said:what about Ico and Shadow of the Colossus? they are technically a series.veloper said:I really can't think of one series that is 100% perfect though.
the sad thing is that my friends are still buying the games and thinking that they are the best thing ever. activision will do the same crap that they did with guitar hero for all there other succesful franchise. particularly cod mw 2. i call it the tony hawk technique.Dragonrabbit said:The whole "band simulation" genre, on the one hand you have Rock Band who has a good thing and has sort of adopted the whole "if it's not broken, don't fix it." Then there's the Guitar Hero series getting the good ol' Activision treatment, "You like this game? Here have it again with a different subtitle?"
I humbly disagree, but we're all entitled to our opinions.Valiance said:Anything?
Zelda.
Grand Theft Auto (Go back to 2's style, please. None of this gritty gangster shit.)
Civilization.
Super Smash Brothers.
Elder Scrolls (Daggerfall, RIP.)
i'm actually quite fond of the first tactics advance, in fact i still play it. i havent played the second one yetOnyx Oblivion said:Well...as for ones that aren't obvious *cough*Sonic*cough...I'd have to say that Final Fantasy Tactics series went downhill. The first one was great and actually had quite a good plot, but the Advance ones...they're just grind with no motivation to grind except to get stronger to grind against stronger enemies. The original kept you playing for the plot, too.
You must admit that the plot is crap at least. I understand the love of the grind, so I won't hate on you for liking it. I'm still going to finish Tactics Advance 2, but there's no rush as there is no plot for me to have to recall. Also, going to the Guild all the time is annoying as all hell.madman485 said:i'm actually quite fond of the first tactics advance, in fact i still play it. i havent played the second one yetOnyx Oblivion said:Well...as for ones that aren't obvious *cough*Sonic*cough...I'd have to say that Final Fantasy Tactics series went downhill. Word. I'm most dissapointed by the turok series, the first two were awsome, however they just keep getting worse and worse. It doesn't stop me from buying them though due to my foolish optimism. *sigh*LordSnakeEyes said:Personnaly, I think Every game with a sequel gets worst with time.
i will admit that it was all a little loosely strung together but it held me for the entire game. i usually spent most of my time in it trying to finish all the missions. so i guess you could count that as grinding but at least it was more interesting than walking around to battle traveling clansOnyx Oblivion said:You must admit that the plot is crap at least.
