Mums are wierd like that.

BTW..DONT.
I've learned that, if I'm going to get anywhere I want to be, I have to ignore my mum roughly 97% of the time ><

She's been wrong about my schoolwork, my gaming, my girlfriend. I've lost count of it all.

"The crusts are healthier than the bread."
No Mum! NO! That is a lie!

My Mum also gives a lot of contradicting advice, she'd say one thing, and then say something else the next day which goes against the previous advice. So I don't bother asking for help from her any more.

I used to think my parents advice was stupid.
Then I grew up.

Now I see that my parents are very wise, and I was an idiot.

But in this case, I would disagree with your mother.
Cheaters only learn when they lose, not when they get away with it.
That is because you became one of them, one of those adults that think only adults are wise when they make more mistakes and more morally wrong decisions then children.
I never said all adults were wise.
As someone who worked in retail for over 10 years, I can guarantee that isn't something I would ever say.

But I will say that kids don't know as much as they think they do.

And I've learned that the older you get, the less you know.

My mom once told me "Never believe a girl when she says she is on birth control ever."

All though thats probably really good advice actually.

Oops, ok uh, I don't ask advice from my parents because I can figure it out myself.
I thought it was teapot?

Anyway, that's pretty bad advice. Please don't take it.
It's in south park when Scott Tennorman(i've spelled it wrong) gets Cartman to dance for his money back.

Your mom was convincing you to take him back? (I assume she knows he cheated on you) Maybe he's Jesus and you didn't realize it. I guess in that case when it comes to WWJD he would cheat.

EDIT: And o no I have never gotten strange advice from my parents, they are infinitely more brilliant than I am so I just follow their every order.

Gotta agree with this, it's sage advice.
I cannot fathom why your mum would suggest you take him back, unless she has shady ulterior motives. o_O

This.

To the OP: Sorry that you had to go through that, but you'll find someone better so no worries.

I'm banned from computer games forever apparently, cos I'm addicted and their rotting my brain.
Oh, and I'm in my twenties and have been in college for 2 years. So yeah, parents are funny sometimes...

To the original poster, Did your mother say why that would be a good idea? It really isn't, at all...

I broke up with my boyfriend monday because he cheated one me.. he came to my house last night begging for me back and i sure as hell wasn't giving him another chance. Then i talked to my mom about it and she was convincing me to take him back...what the hell?

so i was wondering if any of you have ever gotten strange advice from your parents
Urgh, the same thing happened with my current girlfriend. But her grandmother (whom she lives with) was desperate to convince her to get back with her ex (before me) just because he had money. I think they just want you to be with someone for the sake of it sometimes, just so you're not alone.

never I repeat NEVER! take back someone just because they ask you to, people don't change and everyone seems to get hung up on a past boyfriend/girlfriend for no reason other then the hatred of being alone, relationships are only hard because we let them be hard.

Honestly my suggestion is, watch the movie "The Last Kiss", and I suppose use that to help you decide. I agree with most of the other people though, don't bother with him anymore.
