isn't healthcare GOOD?! just because he's spending fuck loads of money, doesn't mean its screwing the economy... which links to the next thing...

SPENDING MONEY IS GOOD FOR A RECESSION!!! it's what you do to get out of a recession! i don't particularly see why people can't understand this...
Printing money that has nothing backing it is BAD for the economy. Wildly printing valueless money can and will lead to hyperinflation and an utter economic collapse.
i know... see: zimbabwe. I'm not saying they should print more money and then spend it (i'm hoping thats not what obama's doing), i'm saying that in a time of recession, they shouldn't really have anything in the bank... spend all the money you have... just printing money jacks up the supply and blah, blah, blah, etc, etc

again... not PRINTING money, SPENDING money

Dear god this is hilarious, watching America is like watching a dancing bear in a tu-tu, it could be dangerous if it didn't look so foolish and it wasn't so entertaining.

Oh goody a bunch of ignorant nerds who play games all day and then watch CNN headline news for 5 minutes and think they have any clue what-so-ever about the world outside.

You little ignorant idiots calling these protesters "dumb" etc. is extremely fucking laughable and I think you're a bunch of morons.
Because only ignorant nerds play videogames and use the internet

It's at a rally designed to lure out the crazies AND it's on Fox news.
You can't possibly expect anything more from that video.

Hmmm... I wish their was a thread showing some of the good things about America, well things that the rest of the world would consider good. Sadly this is really all i ever see, or hear, or experience.

well with me being on of the critisist of the usa myself, I should actually jump on the bandwagon here and make fun of them stupid fucks...

but also living in the netherlands myself, wich used to be a free country... well with the levels of moronity going on here on my home turf I'm actually quite tempted to make a youtube vid of my own... but wait! I can spare myself the effort, just youtube "fitna by geert wilders" with a bit of luck it has enlgish subs and you can actually make out what he says...

and in the polls... well let's just say, a BIG part of dutchmen is saying they're going to vote for this misinformed fuck...
About dutch politics: whatever happened to NEE? That protest group had some really sweet ideas i you ask me. : )
I don't actually have a clue what your on about... wich is shite tbh, since I always used to pride myself on having quite an extensive knowledge of dutch politics... wikipedia it is...

EDIT: just found yer answer... it's actually belgian... but the idea is good, might stop people from voting for that peroxideblonde idiot...

I still think JP Balkendende (Dutch prime minister) is trying to become a left-wing fascist dictator...
I think the reason people vote for Geert Wildres is because speaks clearly. He doesn't change his view or stance on any subject like almost all the other politicians. This makes him seem a lot less insecure than the others.
I like the guy, though. Watching him debate is always treat, because he doesn't dilly dally around things. I wouldn't vote for him, however. He's a good politician and the country needs a voice like him, since all the other like-minded have been either murderd or driven of. But he still has a one-track mind wich isn't a good quality for a Minister President.

I hope you're kidding about Balkenende. He's probably the most harmless MP this country has ever had.

yeah, I actually am... :$ sorry...

yes he [geert wilder] has a clear stance on subjects, but his stance is always: spew the most populist rubbish you can find, and if that fails, find a way to blame it on the muzzers or other foreigners... for example: his last discrepancy: wanting to dedicate valuable government resources to calculating how much a single muzzer costs us... I mean... WHAT THE F00K? let's face it, the man is a racist pig and I would never vote for him and I hope everyone sees the light and gathers their torches and pitchforks form an angry mob and drive him into the sees.

on the other hand, I agree that netherland needs someone who says what needs to be said, but the LAST thing we need is the forming of an even bigger chasm between our foreign and non-foreign population.

ps: sorry if I get a bit worked up about this, but I really, REALLY despise the guy...

But anyway, for discussion, is America as misinformed as commonly depicted?
From what contact I've had with Americans, yeah, I'd say that you are as a people.

I was up in Scotland, on a Lochness tour boat, as you do when you're up in that area. And on the day I went, there was 3 Americans onboard - as an aside, I could spot them a mile off because they were waring the cheap yellow rain overalls sold to tourists who don't think to pack rain cloths before going to Scotland.

Anywho, so, these tourists were talking to the tour guide, and either he was letting them in on a HUGE conspiracy, or, PERHAPS MORE LIKELY, making fun of their gulliablity, telling them how they'd captured a few of the species of the Lochness monster, but were keeping it hush-hush for the sake of protecting it. And the yanks where nodding there heads and agreeing with it as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

As for the YouTube video, seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people? You've got one guy crying out to outlaw abortion whilst the crowd chants 'freedom' - can they not see the HUGE irony? And all those ridiculous banners with Obama having a Hitler mouschette and all. Its just....ergh.... and then these people vote in fuckholes like Bush who screw up the world. And then at the same time wonder why the rest of the world hate America (the nation, not necessarily the people)

I think I spoke of the "Americans being the Bane of humanity"-thread. The U.S government doing indiscriminate carpet bombings in other countries where thousands of civilians die because of it, you don't hear as much as a squeak from the american people.

But raise taxes, FOR ANY REASON AT ALL, and boy the streets of Washington suffers a bad case of over-crowding with disgruntled citizens.

-"Oh sure, go ahead mr President! Get our military to act like nazis in other countries, we don't mind. I mean it's just a bunch of 'brown people' of 'terrorist descent' dying anyway. But if you raise the fucking taxes then im going to rip you a new one, got it!?"

*facepalm*
Seconded. In general, the american public seems to be very ignorant about the world outside the US.

I like the part where one of the protesters said Glen Beck was a logical thinker. That had me laughing pretty hard.

I don't think most Americans are like this though. The majority do want national health care. Unfortunately, they are being drowned out or ignored by certain media.

GAHHHH, THE STUPIDITY! Ok, I've watched more of the video now and I can feel the stupidity getting into my brain! No wonder there are people in America who believe Fox news. I can't even finish watching the video, it makes my brain hurt.

National health care could do a lot of good for America, as well as putting down some strict controls on banks, after all they are the reason for this huge recession (at least the biggest factor).

Secondly, you NEED to spend money during recessions, or else the economy collapses. Strangely, the only reason that there wasn't all that much money spent during the great depression is simply because of WW2.

Y'know, I live in one of the most liberal college towns in the god damn country, and even consider myself more moderate than most here, swaying once in a while, but these are the people that have fallen off the spectrum and have no feet to stand on.

It's a lot easier to be a conservative than a liberal these days. As a liberal you have to face up to scary and different directions, but as a conservative you can at least pretend stuff isn't happening (oil will last forever, the earth can support constant economic growth, et cetera) and say any type of change that brings you out of your comfort zone is morally evil.

Wait, what? WW2 is when they started spending again - the Great Depression started BEFORE WW2 - And the sales of weapons and arms combined with FDR's public works programmes is what kick started the US economy....

Just another day I'm glad to be Canadian. We are likely just as good as the states, but we have a good instead of a bad reputation.
