Seriously though, why are fanboys so oblivious to facts?

Well, it's about wait and see. Playstation 3 is getting better exclusives now, and Xbox 360's exclusivity is really fading. I expect that when that Perfect Storm of PS3 titles come in this holiday, It's gonna be outselling the 360. I can't wait when games like Resistance 2, PURE, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Heavy Rain, and eventually (it's a casual game, so this will have a huge amount of appeal) Afrika come, it's going to bring the PS3 on top.

If we're thinking about the same thing, PURE is already out, and it's not a PS3 exclusive.

Honestly, I don't see anything exclusive to the PS3 that would make me go out and buy one. I don't have an HDTV, so Blu-ray is useless (and my TV's not that old either, so I'm not buying a new TV for a system I don't want).

The Hardware is superior, but that should be the case, it's expensive and came out a year later. If the Hardware were worse, I'd be laughing at it. That extra year didn't seem to be as friendly to the Wii though, but that's a different story.

The most important thing about a gaming platform for me, is the games. Are there games on other platforms I'd like to play? Yeah, Resistance 2 looks saweet, MGS4 is something I should have seen, considering how much of an MGS Fanboy I was circa 3 years ago. I should play Little Big Planet, because it's getting HUGE HUGE HUGE press, and I, for the life of me, can't figure out why. So maybe there's something I'm missing in that.

All of those things worth me buying a PS3? no, they're not. Hell, I can even get Darth Vader on my Soul Calibur 4 if I really want him now. I don't play much multiplayer on my XBL (truthfully, I don't think I own a game other then SC4 that supports it), but even if I do, I still have a 1 month subscription card kicking around if I get that itch. the 360 offers me almost all the games I want to play, as long as I pet it's belly every now and then and don't cry too much when it dies.

So buying a PS3 offers me very little, but still, whenever I mention that I only own a 360 in a gaming forum like this one, I immediately have PS3 and PC fanboys crawling down my craw telling me what an idiot noob I am for not buying a PS3 or upgrading my computer.

It's a matter of taste at the end of the day. 360 is a great console for FPS games and shooters as well as amazing online, while the PS3 is more about the single player experience although now it's getting a lot more multiplayer based games like Resistance 2, and Wii is a party machine.

well i used to be a fan of the 360 till i sold my wow account and bought a ps3, now i just play socom and warhawk instead of halo 3

Console fanboys exist only because they are too poor to afford all consoles. Yahtzee already stated that

No; I'd never buy a 360 cause I don't like Microsoft (or the controllers) and I don't like Nintendo games, so I'd never get a Wii. That makes me a PS3 fanboy by default despite me having enough money to get all three.

I have a friend that always says "but it's still better than a ps3" on everything that can go wrong.
Annoying, especially when he insists that the wii is the greatest thing that ever happened to gaming.(ignoring the fact that all his games are completed 100% and never played again, something he didn't do with his GC/PS2 games)
He laughed when he heard that my psp died(refuses to go on, probably a battery problem) saying anything that breaks is not worth it, ignoring he himself had to replace his 360 four times because it scratched his games, and since karma sucks, not even a month after he laughed at my psp, he got a red ring on his 360.

And he told me that halo 3 looks better... so i kinda just... decked him in the face and drove home. So why in the world are fanboys so damn blind? Is there something in their brain that blocks common sense?

Because they can't accept the fact that other people may have different opinions than them or that, *gasp* they may be wrong from time to time.
