Sessler took to task the anti-fans for their bleatings, yes, but he also fired plenty of ammo at the fanboys for whom "5 out of 5" wasn't good enough. There's plenty of idiocy to slop around in the fan community, don't let any one group try to hog it all.

Actually it seemed to me that the majority of his vitriol was pointed right at the cuntbag fanbois who accuse them of taking payoffs to give good reviews and that they had to begrudgingly admit that Killzone 2 was so great. Granted he was aiming it at all fanboys but it was definetely the Killzone 2 fanbase that got the majority of his wrath, and for good reason. After all, they directly questioned his integrity.

I saw that thing and it looked to me like he was tearing into delusional PS3 AND 360 fanboys. Actually I thought he was being just a bit more harsh to the 360 fanboys except for the ps3fanboy who apparently insulted his integrity. He sunk to that guys level real quick.


I was more perturbed by his previous soapbox where he encouraged everyone to buy DLC: that's just irresponsible. It's easy for him to recommend, he never has to pay for it.

$10-$20 for what's usually a few more missions isn't a good deal on any system.

$10 for what took me 3-4 hours to complete is a good deal and I don't feel any sort of regret for getting it. Keep in mind that it used to be one might have to spend $50 on an entire game that was that long.

$10 is one thing but if I paid $50 for a 3-4 hour game, I'd shit in the box and mail it back to the publisher. I have movies in my library that are longer.

More likely I'd just sell it right away like I did with No More Heroes (which only had 3-4 hours of tolerable gameplay) but it would be somewhat satisfying to let my feelings known through deification.

But for the greater good, please tell us what these $50 4 hour games are.

When it takes stuff from CoD4's perks and exp system, you could say it's not a huge deal. When you take the class system of Team Fortress, the only real class based FPS to date, and water them down and rip off most of the classes, yes. It is.

only real class based to date? well i guess you don't count BF:1942, BF2, BF:2142, Resistance 2, Red Orchestra, I can go on.

Yes, Team Fortress ( a Half Life mod ) made class based multiplayer for FPS, but its been in use a lot since. TF2 is most definately NOT the only class based FPS.

Can somebody please explain to me why killzone's mp is so good? Looking at that video its just a cut down version of cod4s mp. Which was hardly a good mp experience in the frist place.

Dun Dun DUUNN!! My point exactly. They judge it though they haven't played it. I've played it once and I can say its a phenomonal new experience. Not worth getting my own PS3, but great nonetheless. If you don't compare one game to another, you will learn to like much much more. Oh, and how was it "cut down?"

I was asking you to explain seeing as I know bugger all about the game. All i've seen is the footage in the background of that video. But i guess reading is a little difficult for you.

Reading has been a problem lately since I went blind. Anyway; Touche, my good man. Basically, Killzone, that is, the original, was a generic apocalypse involving alien invaders plot but very well executed. It was good enough that they made a second and that is the glory of a PS3 game you see this forum being blown up about.

I am a fanboy but I am also a realist. I don't know how that happened, some kind of mutation, I think toxic waste was involved but anyway, just because I am a fanboy of a series doesn't mean the game gets a free ride. I am a RE, Silent Hill, and Part Killzone fanboy. But the way I look at it is that the series must earn my respect and love. If they make crap then I will call them out on crap. (IE Silent Hill Homecoming best and worst silent hill game) I look at it as a love of the series and knowledge of it not blind following.

Sessler is a sell out. He said to get Two Human for christmas and to get Dark Sectors for the B******s in your life. I love Darksector cause it has everything people whine about games having. It has Great Graphics, Gameplay, Unique Gameplay mechanic, Story, Gore, and more gore, ext and it properly rewarded you for your achievements when it came to bosses. Two Human was not a game I would recommend for Christmas. In my opinion if they would have held the game back taken feedback it and made it better it would have been a great game. If not a contendent for game of the year. Now releasing it as was and then saying people didn't like it cause it was too advanced and beyond alot of our comprehension is not the way to go. And yes the guy in charge of making the game did infact insult the gaming public.

Anyway, haven't seen Sessler's Soapbox in a while, thanks for reminding me. Totally agree with Sessler (except on the "Killzone 2 is great part" but only because I haven't played it yet, not saying it's bad).

Yes there is. I am a fan to Halo a fanboy to Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil as I own all Silent Hill games, Bought the second Fatal Frame twice just so I could have the box and book (the first I bought was used and didn't have ether) and I am a RE Fan cause I know the series love it and know a lot of facts on it. I didn't want to call myself a fanboy on that cause it was my belief at the time that I didn't know the little facts that a fanboy would then I got in this trivia thread and it became about re between me and this other person and now I am an RE fanboy. But I also happen to be a realist by nature.
I am aware of the difference between fan and fanboy. Many series I am a fan of but the ones I love the most and truely am a total fan over I am a fanboy to. (RE movies sucked. I have played the games and read the books. Nice addition to the third movie of the parts from the caliban cove book.)
Fanboy is a term used to describe any individual who is devoted to a single subject in an emotional or fanatical manner, or to a single point of view within that subject, often to the point where it is considered an obsession.

Clearly you have not heard me go on about Resident Evil. Or Silent Hill Please port the PS3 Fatal Frame to the US. Looking foward to the wii fatal frame.

Yo do realize that Too Human was in development for almost a decade, right? And just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's a bad game, same goes for Sessler liking it. It's a niche game, some people love it, others don't. It's unique and it IS very deep, but there are also plenty of people who hate it for what it does. Sessler isn't a sellout or an idiot because he recommended it, it just means he personally likes the game. It was his OPINION.

The reaction to the game was that it wasn't good in responce to this he said that people didn't like the game cause it was to complex for us and that threw us off. He basically called us stupid. AH No. I like complexity. It makes games great. The combat was slow and clunky. The gunplay was the same. The levels looked nice they didn't do stair animation like they claimed they would. (Fatal Frame looks better in that department) It is an average game at best.

I say and will continue to say that it had great potential. If they would have taken some feedback and redone a few things the game would have been better. They didn't and their answer is to insult us. I don't think that is going to fly. That asside when the game drops I may still pick it up. But the game still wasnt that good. There is a difference between liking a game and the game being good. I don't like sports games or at least I prefer not to play them, that doesn't mean I am not going to give them good reviews. I review based on the game. For instants I got this new movie a bit back. It said that the guy that did the special effect in the movie cabin fevor did the effects in this movie. My first reaction was well I would keep that to myself cause that movies sucked, but then I thought about it and was like yeah but the special effects were pretty good. I didn't like the movie Cabin Fevor but I am not going to take away from what the guy did in the movie that was good.

That is respectful. I am not saying hey you all have to agree with me that the game is bad. There are many games That I love that people say are bad. (Resident Evil Survivor) My point is when you go reconmending it like it is the greatest game and put down a game which gives players everything they want then that is where I have the problem. Especially when he then goes on to bash the better game.

They also bashed Eat Lead. I shot down every point they made. Especially how they weren't playing the game right...Noobs. Seriously they were standing between two enimies and let a zombie walk up and hit you then you are playing the game wrong. Anyway the point of this was I was telling my friend that he had to get the game cause it was a great game. He wasn't sure but when he was over last he said that I was right. He had rented the game and played through it and loved it. I don't watch the show. I just didn't turn the show off cause I didn't have the controler near me. When they weren't being serious stuff like that was passable. Now they are going for the reputable source aaahh no. No fly.

Worst yet is that the bash the people who disagree with them. I used to love watching that show too. I love the bit and Mr. Nemisis and Bob and Steve. I even learned the difference between sucks and blows from the show and still use it to this day. But now the show has taken a horrible turn for the worst. I mean I would rather watch Yatzee....Hell I would rather watch Yatzee when they were good but you get my point.
