They honestly didn't pay any attention to the subject at school 'till I was about 13 or 14 years old. Kinda had it all figured out before then. Still, it was rather amusing to see the biology teacher trying to wrap a condom around a wooden penis, failing miserably because he was more nervous than us youngsters.

By which I mean Sex Education is a pointless waste of an afternoon.

My Sex Ed consisted of people yelling penis and vagina in order to get it out of our system. It didn't. People just like saying penis/vagina. Aside from that, we got free condoms. Hooray?

Hysterical laughter. And no I'm not immature the videos were hilarious in the way they presented sexual activity. In all seriousness Sex Education was terrible at school there was so much important stuff I didn't know after it. Maybe it was because I was at a catholic school.

For me, it was the basics. But by then everyone knew about sex and that crapz.

For many of us, Sex Education in schools was the first time we got to know what exactly goes on in the bedroom. What are your experiences of those fathful science lessons?.
As I was a year 7 when we learnt about it, the videos, the leaflets and the people who came in th talk to us was pretty weird to begin with but we got desencitized after about two weeks of it.
And you know what I have noticed? It seems when the govenment tells sombody to make a sex education Leflet/Video, they go completely apeshit with it.
'oooh, we have been given permisson to put a young mans penis in our leaflets. Lets put one of every bloody page' Im all for not making us feel uncofortable about it but do they have to use it so much?

There's a difference between informing the youth and just overdoing it. Putting a single example picture of a penis and vagina as well as some of the more well-known positions isn't going overboard. Having a sex-ed teacher that goes apeshit as he/she explains it however is.

In our schools (just think of them as European) it was done alright I guess. The teacher came in on one afternoon and we spent about 2 hours discussing the dangers and pitfalls as well as the upsides of it all from a purely medical standpoint. No one was too embarassed about it, the girls were brave enough to relate and ask some questions about it, us boys were mostly quiet though and at the end they gave one condom to each freely. We were about 13 years old - I'd say that's about the right time to have this kind of talk. Maybe a little earlier in some cases...but mostly nah...13 is about the right time.

One part of sex ed at my school which confused me (I don't know if it was the same elsewhere) was the constant stressing that it was the man's responsibility to ensure safe sex. Why is that? It takes two to tango you know, and as far as I know there are female contraceptives as well. Are they not as good? It also makes Lesbian relations very complicated. Should there be a man to referee or something?

Really great, i had this really cool teacher for most of it, we all loved him because he just took the piss out of us all, all of the time, he was an older bloke who has just taken retirement, but he wasnt embarrassed to tell us everything, or to answer any of our questions, and because we liked him as a person so much we werent afraid to ask him. best teacher i've ever had, brilliant sex education and he had a great mustache
