Guy and shaved, in various states. I don't do a ton of upkeep being single, but I like it much better than before I shaved. Also, body trimmer. For the love of god, body trimmer. People who use razors are insane.

I expect whoever I'm getting with to be at least trimmed so it wouldn't be fair to leave my own genitals ungroomed would it? The fact that I prefer the look and feel of not having hair is extra. As well, speaking from experience its a much better time going down on someone with no hair.

Also, don't worry to much about cutting yourself, as long as you know how to shave and don't have any tremors you'll be fine. Or use an electric.

I shave once a week, normally stick to a Wednesday schedule, with a razor.

But lemme tell you, if you do plan to shave, just like your face do not shave against the grain. I learned that the hard way when I first attempted downstairs grooming.

But the sack is actually not that easy to nick, the more dangerous areas are the areas that connect your thighs to your crotch and behind the sack if you wanna go a little lower. The only problem with the sack if you even attempt is that the rather rubberish/stretchy texture makes it hard for the shaving utensil to catch the hair. So if you even try there, you'll just have to pay more attention.

I've trimmed. Can't shave though. If I got rid of that much hair then my penis would look too big and intimidating.

Personally never done it, but I was wondering (possibly a lapse of judgement on my part) how many people do it. What does it feel like exactly? Is it less scratchy for one thing? I'm rather apprehensive because I'd like to not slit my balls open by accident.
Female. I keep that area shaved because I think it looks better and it feels better when I'm having sex (pubic hair chafes).
Actually, baldness chafes. Why do you think you grow hair under your arms? Surely it's at least partly to stop chafing.

My wife and I are both art models, so we shave... for the sake of ART! Because art does not exist without pain.. and itching. Or some such shit. Actually, we shaved before starting any modeling because we both think body hair is icky. I've seen a lot of comments on the subject of itching and nut laceration. In my experience, the itching is only bad the first time you do it. Perhaps, the skin in that region becomes accustomed to the process. As far as adding slits where the don't belong, we make use of two methods: one is sugaring- basically, a home made depilation process (DIY waxing). Very painful, that, but it's hard to argue with the (lasting) results. The other is taking a Schick Quattro to our naughty bits, because we're bosses. For the record, I have YET to get a cut on Pro Tip (that's what I named my penis. Think of that, the next time you encounter someone giving out advice while utilizing that phrase. Enjoy).

I'm a guy, and I don't shave. Never really had the urge to, and my girlfriend doesn't mind. She does, but I don't really have an opinion either way, since she's the only girl I've went down on so...

I have yet to attempt it, because I'm also in the camp of "I'd really like to not have what's inside my genitals outside."

But if I ever get to the point in a relationship where it's relevant, I'll just go with her preference. I have no attachment to either status. I'm just lazy.

Shaving my face is already a huge bother.

Wish the clip was on youtube, but does anyone else remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer tells Jerry, "It grows back but thicker."?

Honestly, this thread is hilarious asking this too personal of a question.
You mean this one?

As seems to be the consensus (who knew?!), I trim because shaving completely gets itchy when it grows back. And I am an absurdly hairy man (i.e. if my wife and I are going out for dinner, I usually have to shave again before we go out).

My views on men and women are about the same. Totally au natural can get a little too wild (i.e. no one likes having to pause repeatedly during oral to spit out pubic hair) and totally shaved requires a bit more maintenance that most people have time for, so a trim is a nice middle ground.

I keep it short when i'm seeing someone. I'd be willing to shave it if a girlfriend requested it, but i'm not going to bring it up myself.
I was in a ldr once when she visited and she'd had a waxjob. the difference between shaved and waxed was phenomenal! It's been three years and I can still reminisce about that silky goodness. oh the good old days...

I do it once every 6 months or so. I takes ages to do and leaves tons of red spots that itch for days. Frankly I'm leaning towards waxing next time.

Do it when I can be arsed to do it or it starts itching like crazy(which is about every other week or so..sometimes longer sometimes not).

Do you mean the actual shaving feeling or the feeling of being shaved? Either way the feeling of shaving is, to me at least, the same as the feeling of shaving anywhere else. The feeling of being shaved is better because as mentioned below, less itchy. Also I like the feel of it to be honest. I get more sensation out of it and more pleasure out of it(when I'm being sexually active that is aka not now) and that's really the best I can describe for myself.

For me personally? Yes. But that goes for my legs too. And is quite possibly the only reason I shave my legs is because if I don't semi regularly shave(about same time schedule as above I can sometimes go up to a month without needing to), my body where I haven't shaved starts itching like crazy and I wind up scratching hard enough/frequently enough to start taking skin off. Let me tell you, that isn't comfortable at all.

I have heard from other men however that shaving can make you more itchy but it depends person to person. Honestly if I were you, I'd start by just trimming to a manageable length and then just going a little shorter each time til you start shaving and be very careful when you do shave.

I keep a treasure trail leading to the base, but everything else is clear cut down there.

It's not as difficult as some suspect and you don't need some crazy 5 blade to do it. I prefer the three blade shtik that the whole blade bends, my choice in that matter is easy if you look at my avatar. Trying to shave your head with a flat blade sucks.

Anyways they key to resolving the itchiness is this.

It is extremely important to exfoliate, use a scrub afterwards! You will need a little patience too as it may suck for the first few times.

I also shave against the grain, face, head, and down there because fuck you hair!

As others have said, its much more pleasant to go down on a shaved partner, its also a matter of comfort for me.

I used to shave. If I could be arsed to, I still would, but I just don't fucking care at the moment. Maybe if I ever miraculously gain a sex life, I will. I prefer women who are shaved purely because I don't like the look of pubic hair, and would feel like an ass if I didn't shave as well. Though I really should trim. The loing hairs sometimes get caught in my foreskin, and it's uncomfortable as hell, sometimes painful, especially when it pulls. Not to mention it can get quite itchy, especially in warm, humid weather.

Well I never have, but that just makes me think about the story about the guy who volunteered to have a male Brazilian wax at a pub for charity... from people who were also drunk....

They ripped off every layer of skin on his family jewels except for the last one. *SHUDDER*

Being in a relationship with my boyfriend I have to say. Its better to be shaved both giving and receiving. Christ hairballs are NOT fun.

Also I tend to shave all over so that zone stays smooth almost all the time.
