Shin Megami Tensei Persona: Dissonant Strain (Private RP)

"That sounds great!" He fixed his hair immediately after Eber disrupted it, though at least now he was coming to expect it every so often. "Ah! Right! You're not supposed to be off campus in the first place! Let's get you back so you don't get in trouble!" Akinari hurried Eber back to the safety zone.

The two of you return to campus without incident. When you arrive, Eber turns to you.

"Go on to the dormitories without me... As I am already breaking the rules, I believe I will go to the fields and practice my sprints and lunges. I will see you in the morning, ja?"

Kojiro stared at her. She was nervous again? About what? Sometimes he didn't understand Rin. "Look, Rin, don't stress over it...we have each other. Let's let the popular kids do their thing and we'll do ours." He sighed and leaned back in his chair crossing his arms. "Sorry if my yelling startles you...I just get...really angry."

He was always angry, but rarely had an outlet for it. It was going to kill him to be so upset all the time he was sure...but for now he had to push it back down. If Rin was too nervous to work they would never figure out what this stuff was. And if they failed, Yamada and Mizushima were just gonna take it from them and do it. And then flaunt it around as if they're the gods own shit. he grit his teeth.

"Ok! Let's get to work!" He turned to Rin and mustered up a smile. He could gripe with Isoroku later....if he ever turned up again...

He frowned with disapproval. "Mmm...If you get an extended suspension, you're never going to hear the end of it. Don't stay out too late. Jya ne!" Akinari saluted Eber and headed back to the dorm shouting "I'm serious! Not too late!"

Rin did her best to keep how miserable she felt off her face. She couldn't even talk to someone who she considered a friend. She hung her head a little and gave a weak nod. She felt sick, but she would try her best since he seemed so eager. "Ok, lets get started." She just had to keep a brave face til she got back to her dorm.

And at that, Eber headed out--not to the fields as he'd indicated, but to the gymnasium to meet with the others. He arrived in minutes.

Kojiro sits up and watches Rin set for the experiment. "So...how are we going to do this? Can we like..test it with chemicals...or do we test it on a mouse? Or just study drops on a microscope?"

He leans on the desk, "What would you like me to do?"

Rin glanced at him. 'He at least seems eager.' She still felt crummy but the work in front of her was helping for the time being."Well first, we should um get a few samples out of the vial. One we can examine with a microscope, another we should try to break down to um maybe get a clue as to what it exactly is."She motioned for him to pass her a few spare test tubes and got ready to begin.

Kojiro follows under Rin's direction and helps her conduct her experiments on the fluid in the vial. He resist just going to grab a lab rat and forcing it to drink the stuff...

Kojiro/Rin: You conduct various experiments on the substance in the vial, using guidance from your textbooks. Putting it under the microscope proves to be a failed attempt as its liquid state seems to shift into that of thick, wafting smoke once it leaves the container.

Rin, as it starts to drift upwards into the air, you clamp your hand over it to push it back into the container. A small bit of it you find you have accidentally breathed in.

When you do, your Persona appears to respond, though it remains tucked away inside you. It seems to gather strength from the fumes of the bottle, regaining its ability to cast magic. Because of this reaction, and the circumstances in which the vial was found, you may infer that this is perhaps a bit of Shadow essence that your Persona can feed upon to recuperate.

Kojiro watches Rin as she sits still. He wonders if something is wrong with her. "Rin? Rin!? Oh god you didn't breath it in did you! Are poisoned? Are you ok!? Say something!"

Rin blinks a few times before realizing Kojiro is saying something to her. "I'm um ok." She looks down at the vial before making sure nobody was too close before she leaned closer to Kojiro. "Kojiro-san, I um did breath so in. It didn't hurt or anything, in fact it made my um Persona react. Like it had regained a bit of its strength or something."

"Really?" He leans in, "So...we could use this stuff down int he tunnels, right? Too bad we only have one vial..." He rubbed the side of his face. "Well have to look for more. Come on let's pack up and go."

Rin nodded and put the vial carefully in her bag. "hmm We're supposed to meet up with the others in the gym again right Kojiro-san?" She had finished packing her bag and waited for his confirmation.

Kojiro shrugs. "I guess so...We are doing the tunnels tonight..." He slings his bag over his shoulder and smirks. "I can wait until you tell them you figured it out, Rin." He pats her on the back as they head out.

Rin's earlier depression lifts for the time being. Partly due to their discovery and partly due to Kojiro's physical approval. Though the latter only made her face heat up. She quickly avoided meeting his eyes as the headed off to the gym. Gather what courage she had left she spoke with out looking at him. "I um know they upset you. But um in the interest of um figuring this out, lets try to not let anything they might say get to us okay?" Ri'ns thoughts drifted back to their last meeting where she had inadvertently set Mizushima off.

Kojiro nodded, but had a bit of a frown. "So what do you want to do while we wait...study? We coudl go get some food, we've got time to kill." He looks over at her, "We don't have to go strait there."

Rin glanced at him out of surprise. "I um, am up for anything really." She felt happy he had at least not reacted badly again.

'That'll do for now.' Kumiko packed up her gear and put the soccer equipment back in the gym. She felt a little silly for wanting to shower off the sweat if she was only going to be drenched in it again in a few short hours. But she'd be damned if she showed up anywhere looking like a mess. So back to her room she went for a shower. After which she began to get as much homework out of the way as she could.

He thought to himself for a moment, "Then lets go to the library and study for now. About an hour before I'll need to leave to go get my sword....I'll check to see if Isoroku's ok." He turned and started to head for the library.
