If you have an opinion that isn't shared by the masses, then chances are you're going to be ridiculed for it. That's the power of a mob. Nothing else needs to be said about this.

You like Transformers 3; glad I don't have to talk with you often.

Hehe, but seriously.

What's wrong with Transformers 3? I've nothing against it; and I'd certainly have nothing against anyone else watching it.

That'd just be weird.

Obvious troll is obvious.

I would have believed you if you just said you liked Transformers. I guess I can understand that even if I'm confused by it, but when you go comparing it to Watchmen then I have to call shenanigans. The closest thing they have in common is Transformers neglecting the actual Transformers as opposed to Watchman where the most interesting character gets the least amount back story. Those are two entirely different cases though. So I can't actually say you are genuine and if you are then I feel bad for you.

another insult. You guys are amazingly predictable. And i did not compare the two films. It's just generally the people who act out like this are the ones who luuuuuuuurve watchmen because its so intelligent and all i saw in that was a film with ridiculous or uninteresting characters for the most part, and a story that could have started and resolved in 10 minutes.
I never insulted you. I didn't say "WOW, you are really dumb for liking Transformers 3 and not liking Watchmen!" I said that I didn't believe you and that I feel deeply sorry for your inability to know a good movie from a bad movie. So if you felt insulted at all, I sincerely apologize.
Your saying that if we like Transformers and DONT like watchmen our brains dont function at the level of yours.. your derogatory remarks are pathetic and your attempt to make them seem okay is banal.

I like transformers, I thought watchmen was very very average and probably will never watch it again.
I enjoy all kinds of films, some more heavy than others and some with more meaning than others.
Just a heads up 'Kid', but, I am going to insult you. To be more specific, I'm insulting your inability to take a comment in it's literal form, without reading into it as a personal attack. Sucks for you that you are having a hard time with judgmental people. Welcome to life, get thicker skin and grow up.

Hey Half Life 2 got money instead of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines.
Proof right there that nothing is fair, no ones opinions make sense. You just need to hold the knowledge that you like it and that's all that matters.

I didn't like the movie at all but insulting the people that did is never the way to express that.
There is like 4 billion people that liked that movie, talk to them, they know why you love it.

Now consider how people that liked Twilight must feel.
You have it pretty good.

It seems to be the new trend that makes people think they are smarter than the population because they do not like Transformers films.

I am sick of being told I and all my friends are 13 year olds

And what bugs me the most

is that most of these people like a movie such as Watchmen and hold it in high esteem. It's ironic that these people say Transformers Dark of the moon has no plot because Watchmen is 2 hours and 10 minutes of pointless, uninformative backstory for characters we don't care about (Ironically the most interesting character gets less backstory) and 30 minutes worth of actual storyline - a mediocre one at that.

I am still convinced these are the people who grew up with Transformers cartoons.

ps. I am by no means saying these films are perfect.

pps I am also not saying you cannot like this film because that is ridiculous, but aparently it does not work the other way around. Like this film and you are a F student waiting to man the assembly line.
Sigh.

Look if you want to go into a movie theater to see a whole lot of CGI 'splosions with little sense or meaning then fine.

Just accept that those of us with more taste are going to mock you for it.

Things that need to change in transformers are:

A) Kick the crappy romance plots.

B) Have action scenes that make sense. Michael bay has this problem with filling the screen with crap exploding left and right. And jump cuts. And more explosions. Calm it the fuck down. If an explosion isn't preceeded by meaningful tension and context about why it's happening then it's meaningless sound and colour.

C) Ditch the dudes in green. Michael Bay needs to accept that not everything is about his boner for the US military. This is Transformers not Black Hawk Down.

D) Michael Bay needs to drink some bleach and die painfully. Him and his pal Jerry Bruckheimer have been churning out dumb blockbuster after dumb blockbuster for decades. Because these dumb movies make money good movies don't get made. Those of us waiting for the next film in the vein of Alien or Terminator or BladeRunner or KickAss or Scott Pilgrim are left high and dry because of Michael Bay's fun explosion machine.

To quote MovieBoB:

"I've seen shitty movies based on the life of Christ, I've seen brilliant films based on a guy who dresses up as a bat and beats people up at night because he misses his mommy".

Something or other about dubious source material not being an excuse for bad film-making, he goes more in-depth here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/797-Transformers-Revenge

That rant is basically every reason why they judge you the way they do.
Implying MB does anything except judge movies on the target audience and what he thinks is "cool" rather than actual merit.
He might be terrible on camera like another fat guy that is on this site but if you read what they have to say, they usually have good points whether you agree with them or not.

Anyway, nice avatar, Lapfox does make some awesome tunes.

You... make me giggle. Guess what sweetie, not everyone is going to like the same movie you do. Not everyone is going to have the same opinion. When you get older you'll realize not to take things so personally. Just because I enjoy one type of movie doesn't mean its going to break my heart when the guy next to me tells me its shit and to get over it. Guess what. He doesn't matter. If you liked the movie, you liked it. Be happy about that. Dont go crying to the internet just cause some dude across the country/ocean/world doesn't.

It's okay. someday you'll get there. :3

It's not that I don't like the movie it's just that there are to many non important human characters if they would've just stayed with Shia Lebitch and his obligatory love intrest it would of been fine because then there would of been more giant robot fights, but to add non important military soldiers that have no input into the story just for the hard on that Michael Bay gets from seeing camo is not just stupid it's irresponsible. He is not only solidifying the fact that he believes that the human characters have a more important role in the story than the giant robots the movie is named after, but he is blatantly trying to appeal to the asshats that spend 8 days out the week playing call of duty and talking about how they pwned some noobs, and completley forgetting the other demographics that go to watch the movie. All in all it wasn't the worst thing that has ever been put into theatres but it definatley wasn't the best.

you know while I dont' think it's funny that you like transformers I DO think it's funny that other people think it's funny that you like transformers. why? because I play neopets and nobody has EVER made fun of me for it. I'm 19. the best part is even neopets has more compelling stories than watchmen.

EDIT
well prehaps compelling isn't the right word they won't exactly make you feel warm and fuzzy All I'm saying is they weren't meant to be moving or anything while watchmen WAS and I still find neopets plot events more enjoyable than watchmen... except the early ones those one suck.

1. Post a thread about people putting you down for your opinions.
2. Other people post their opinions about your opinion.
3. Put down their opinion about your opinion.
This thread is retarded, please avoid.

I happened to have invented a fool-proof system when dealing with people like this.

Step 1). Hold hands out in front of you. (to make sure you still have them)
Step 2). Put hands over ears.
Step 3). As loud as you can shout, "lalalalalalalala!"
Step 4). Run away to someplace free of the non-believers.

You're welcome. You are now free to enjoy whatever your heart desires.
I shall use this in future occasions....

OP has a point. I like the transformers movies because i go to see robots fighting because of some paper thin plot and its what I get every time. Everyone else hates it because it has not plot. Now i'm left here wondering if the plots really that important. If its cool and entertaining i'll watch the crap out of it.

Example? Monster trucks smashing things.

That's what YouTube is for.

These are feature length films. If I'm going to sit down for 90 minutes then I want reasonable back story otherwise it has no meaning. And here we're talking about films more than 2 hours long and instead of a story we're get the US Military butt-slapping eachother for 90 minutes.

If these movies had no plot apart from giant robots come shit explodes I'd almost agree with this idea. But Transformers includes tacked on shitty side plots about Shia Laboufe and his dumb girlfriends and bizarre diversions into hack political drama. Why?

This is what the plots of Transformers movies should be: Bad robots arrive, Good robots come to stop them, some humans help. Done. Easy. Instead Bay tacks on the hackneyed romantic subplot and "maverick vs authority" bullshit that he always does.

Really? Let me put it this way Transformers was flawed not just a little but overall it was a terrible movie if it were not for the actually very good action scenes the movie would be 10000 B.C. bad and if you like that movie you are just wrong. It is an objective fact that it was a crap movie. Also at some point when you are claiming that Watchmen was boring and lame because of the "pointless back story" I have to wonder did you understand the movie at all. None of the back story was pointless hell even the extra like 40 minutes of the directors cut was informative and helped you get a feel for the characters. I'm not even that big of a fan of Watchmen and I can tell you your statement is just wrong.(my roommate had the director's cut and he loved that movie)It seems like you are being insulted because you have an immature taste in movies. You want to watch things go boom, but when a movie like watchmen tries to explore deep concepts such as morality and justice but there aren't as many pretty explosions and things smashing each other it is boring and lame.

Good point. I'm sick of people mindlessly jumping on the "let's criticize this or that"-bandwagon just because they think it's cool.

You can't express your individuality by doing something everyone else are doing, morons.

I liked transformers when I was a kid, then I realized that it sucked balls. Then Bay got involved at it became a bunch of explosions and a plot that had more holes than an 1800's whore house. I also hated watchmen, Iron Man, every superhero film ever made and 90% of all movies ever made. If it isn't Scott Pilgrim and super sexy wallace wells, I'm not buying.
