Actually, I found a helmet which fortifies enchantments by 25%...
Now I just have to find it again it that chest is Breezehome...
Do you remember where you found that? My High Elf mage would be indestructible... Of course, first he needs to train in enchanting, but I can get that done pretty quick.
I have no idea...
Some random chest in a dungeon, I think...
You know, one of those which fills itself with random stuff...

Damn... Sounds like a glitch, I can't find any mention of a fortify enchanting enchantment on the interwebs. I guess I can only hope I run into one as well, or use the roundabout method of enchanting equipment with fortifying alchemy, then creating fortify enchanting potions. I know both of those are possible at least.

47 hours in here. My imperial hero is focussing on preserving the Empire and slaughtering dragons is a hobby. He also hates magic.

I don't have the time to commit to a major, 100 hour playthrough, so I'll settle for my 20ish hours until after my exams.

I'm in 137 hours, I've only just crush the rebellion...
Though I've been the boss of every guild for a while... Like a boss.

Next storylline quest I have to do is "Diplomatic Immunity"...
But first I want to master enchanting, so I can enchant my legendary Daedric equipment so it at least recharges magica at the same rate as archmage robes and Morokei.
And maybe some resistances...
Those Forsworn Briarhearts with their lightning are a bit hard...
In fact, I have problems fighting most high level mage types...
I don't know if you invested into the Destruction tree, and I haven't yet seen the Forsworn Briarhearts, but whenever I'm confronted with a large group of mages I just start dual casting chain lighting. That usually drops them pretty quick.

OT: I think I was a master of both the theives guild and the mages guild before I completed the main quest, but I really wanted the cool shouts (which I never use no anyway).

If it is a glitch, then I like this glitch.

I´m on 70 hours, and I´ve yet to become a guildleader or master a skill. Take that! I´m the master of slow playthroughs!

92 hours, Level 44, and I only just beat the story mission, Diplomatic Immunity.

I'm taking my time and damn well enjoying it.

Guys, guys, you're missing the point. :)

I'm not saying it's wrong to finish main quest. I'm simply wondering why :
1. ...take on the main storyline, finish only it, without trying some subquests on the route.
2. ...stop playing Skyrim afterwards, leaving roughly 3/4 of map unexplored.

lol I still haven't beaten my first playthrough, and I got this game on its release day. Though I am about to retire this character because I have a serious itch to try other things out. Not to mention I just kind of spoiled the whole game for myself by finally hitting 100 Enchanting. Now I'm pret-near indestructible.

EDIT: Though to play devil's advocate, I -could- see why people would only want to beat the main storyline. I, too, like to have a clear goal, and it's always frustrating having to stray from the main story for hours at a time. The main story is definitely the most fun part of the game, too. You learn about your character's self, you learn about the world, you get some really cool scenes. And then there's the side-quests which are very well put together but still just makes me feel like some pointless errand-runner.

149 ish hours here, level 44. I'm head of the College, the Companions and the Thieves Guild, just joined the Brotherhood.

I own a house in Whiterun and Solitude and have 100k in cash, with Alteration and Destruction both nearing 100.

I have yet to pick a side in the war, or even go to Falkreach. I've only passed through Dawnstar and Morthal once each. My next main story mission is still Diplomatic Immunity. I still need to get 1 more mask as well, and find another 13 Berenziah gems.

I probably have about 100+ npcs to talk to still who can give me quests, and god knows how many dungeons to visit. Yeah, I'm gona be at this a while yet.

And at some point I might make a new character, so I can do it all over again.

50 hours ingame and you're only level 11
How'd you manage that?

OT: The only main quests I've done so far are the ones untill you get the third word of Unrelenting Force, and I did them only so I'd get that word. I'm thinking things will go like they went in Oblivion for me, or as close to it as possible: 90 hours of play and not a single main quest done. Didn't even finish it because I got bored of the generic questlines (seriously, what's with having to fight so much in the Thieves Guild questline? :| )

Because you can role play as a very focused adventurer who is concerned about finding the source of the dragon invasion.

It's still a choice in-game.

Hmmm.. passed 90 something hours last night and decided to just finish off the mainquest line. Didn't take long at all from Diplomatic Immunity.

Now to do some more quests..... :)

I usually just complete the main quest straight away so I can get all the rewards and stuff from it, then go off on my adventure. Usually.

I rushed it because there is no sense of immersion when it comes to Skyrim, because that is ruined every time I enter a town, complete a quest or even just get in the general vicinity of an NPC. I can NOT get immersed into a world populated by apathetic, lobotomized robot-people.
