All the buildings I have to be in (The Chemistry building, Biomedical sciences and the med school) are all at the other side of the campus from where I live so I have to walk 30-40 minutes to get to lectures, but I don't really mind. The buses hasn't been cancelled in Nottingham, so there is really nothing thats stopping me from going where I need to go.

I remember last winter. We had 40 cm of snow and -28 degrees.

You have no right to complain. =P

I'm snowed in too, out in Warlingham, I can't get into London due to the buses round here not running or the trains, I doubt I'm going to get into University tomorrow. Usually when this happens I sit inside and play videogames. I would be out with friends, but none of them can get to where I am and I can't get to them.

You do know that's a massive contradiction, right?

The view from my window...

This snow is probably the worst we have had.

I live in the middle of a desert in Southern California.

26F in the middle of the night/early morning hours, and not a rain cloud to be seen.
(Which is pretty low for us. Far lower then last year anyway.)
It just gets really cold.
Midday isn't too bad at 60-65F, other times it still shines at a warm, yet breezy 70F.

Sometimes we get a few flakes, but they never stick and everything just ends up wet,
which turns into frost and treacherous ice on the side-walk, where it puddled.

Well, suck my left nut and call me a leopard!
(You don't have to really)
Wish we had snow like that. We've barely got enough to warrant a slippy floor, and I'd really like a day off.

Funniest thing i have heard all day!

And trust me, the snow is havoc up here, roads are slippy, Schools/College's closed, Middlesbrough has near enough shut down, apart from our town, so much traffic and people walk through there, their is no snow.

I live in Edmonton, AB. There is no such thing as "snowed in" unless it snows five feet overnight.

Seriously, in Jr. High school I had to stand outside in -35 degree weather (not including the windchill) for twenty minutes before we were let into a -10 degree classroom.

Well, you could always get out of your house via window and dig yourself out. I've had to do that before, it's actually kind of fun. And wet.

Where I am it's up to people's knees. No shops have any food for miles around and there is literally nothing for me to do other than sit in bed (Or venture to my desk across the room if I feel a gaming itch that I need to scratch)and go on my laptop watching Evangelion stuff and listening to music. I am currently in my own little Heaven.

On a slightly sadder note it has gotten so bad that emergency services aren't being allowed out. So if my leg spontaneously falls off I'm pretty screwed.

Well unfortunately my university is well within walking distance from every part of town so despite the foot-deep snow nothing has been cancelled but due to the snow it takes twice as long to get anywhere and all outdoor activity is definitely off. Needless to say, I'm over this snow... though it was fun when my mate took his car out and we built a wall of snow so he couldn't get back in the driveway... and the huge snowball fights between lectures... OK fine, so maybe it's totally awesome but that doesn't mean I can't be pissed off!

That made my day
In Nottingham we got about 3-4 inches of snow. I would take a picture but I don't have a camera, I barely know how to work a phone and I really can't be arsed to set up an account on an image hosting site

Last time we had heavy snow in the Wasteland was December 7, 2009. I spent the day doing an accounting final exam online (because campus was closed, the professor set the test that way)...and filling out the papers for my divorce. Seriously. Even at the end that damn ex-wife of mine was intellectually incapable of doing anything herself, so she made me do it for her. Reminded me of just why our marriage fell apart and reminded me to apply more stringent standards to any future mate!
...Dude...
Do you want a hug?

I live in Texas so when it snows hard enough to stick to the ground we stop everything. literally business close for fear bridges will ice over and almost everyone under thirty plays in it.
