Watch the more popular ones first, just to ease you in.
- Elfen Lied
- Death Note
etc.

Then after that, what I usually do is pick a random one, watch an episode or two to decide if it's any good, if it's good finish the series, if not move on to the next random one.

I recommend Kuroshitsuji, Pandora Hearts and 07-Ghost.
I like shonen anime. :D

I would recommend Naruto, Tactics and definitely the studio ghibli films. They may look childish, but i'm in teens and I still get a laugh out of My neighbour Totoro.

I dislike all anime.

Not my cup of tea.
I only went into this thread to see if my curious thought was correct. And it was. I knew I'd find you here, mentioning tea and all.

I can't watch it or read it. One being I never read comics or watch Tv, second being i have poor eyesight.

I used to like anime when I was like, 13, but I'm not into it anymore

I used to enjoy all the really weird anime but I can't for the life of me remember the names of any of them. Maybe this thread'll jog my memory

Everyone who said Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Bleach, and Dragonball Z is absolutely right.
After those, you don't need any others.

Gurren Lagann, or to use its full name: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. If you don't mind the innuendo humor whenever Yoko's around, the show is actually pretty awesome.

Until recently I had always thought that anime was for weird people, (U know who live with their mums at 30 lol) no offense. however after being a member on the escapist for a month I have noticed that a lot of people seem to like it so I started to watch some and I have enjoyed what I've seen, however I cant find any more which I might like. So any suggestions???

I have watched:
Full metal Alchemist
Bleach
Hellsing

So something like that...
I haven't seen an anime that I really enjoyed on any level in years, except Afro Samurai (with Sam Jackson, BTW). That one was pretty good.

I always loved Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion. People who like anime for different reasons, like people who were oxygen deficient before birth and therefore have an affinity for Inuyasha, will disagree with me.

I honestly haven't seen much of either, but Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell are 2 of the most lauded anime, and from what I've seen they're pretty damned good.

Also, if you want to watch something that will inspire you to self-castrate, might I suggest the series Bible Black? Please don't ask how I know this...

(So sorry)

If you're going to watch Death Note, just stop watching once L dies. Just pretend that's the last episode. Trust me on this one.

Ah, I adore Full Metal Alchemist.

Watch Death Note (psychological thriller), Darker Than BLACK (neo-noir, sci-fi), and Clannad (drama/comedy/romance). Oh, and if you can find it, watch Orphen; it's a lesser-known fantasy that's really, really good.

Welcome to the ranks. More people need to understand that anime is a legitimate film medium.

EDIT: Yes, of course, how could I forget. WATCH SUBTITLED. English dubs screw anime up like no other. Seriously only so rarely are they good. Orphen, Cowboy Bebop, and Fooly Cooly are the only good ones I've heard. Go with them if you want, but that's it. Subtitles are the way to go. Your ears bleed less.
