I don't have HDMI..and My TV doesn't have an HDMI port.

Right now I'm just using Component Cables.
I used my component cables too for HD. Look at your cables and just follow them down, at one point you'll see a little switch. That switch switches it between SD and HD. You don't really need an HDMI cable, but it's just a little less clutter.[/quote]

Well, I need to know one..and just one thing...does the new Slim come with Component Cables? O-o

yeah i'm way too broke to go get an hdtv to play on..my 22 inch sd works fine, except for the super small text of most new games..it's almost impossible to play dead space and try to read the logs =/ if there was a price drop i'd buy an hdtv though

I mean, I have a 26-inch, LCDHD TV in my bedroom... I just never got around to buying a HDMI cable. They were quite fucking expensive for what they were. So I enjoyed everything in SD.

Anyway, last week I was sifting through my local Gamestation when I came across HDMI cables at discounted price. So, being the impulsive asshole that I am, I bought it.

Sure, I could have used that money for food or clothes, but now I can enjoy my Xbox in shiny 1080i. The end.

Well, not any of my current-gen consoles, but with my GCN, N64, SNES, and NES, yeah, I still play them in "SD" (though it should be "LD" since HD is now the standard).

While it doesn't help with the price of a TV, HDMI cables can be found for cheap online [http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_so_1?rh=k%3AHDMI+cable%2Cn%3A172282%2Cp_4%3ACable&bbn=493964&sort=price&keywords=HDMI+cable&ie=UTF8&qid=1280434843].

I got a few for less then $1 each, along with an HDMI switch for about $20 from Amazon. Everything worked great, and even if they didn't, I had multiple spare cables. It makes me sad to see the gigantic markup on components at most stores. :(

And I love my Samsung HDTV [http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-HLP5063W-Widescreen-HD-Ready-Television/dp/B0002IRYWC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1280435052&sr=8-6]. While nobody needs an HDTV (or any TV at all), and nobody needs a PS3 for a Blu Ray player, they sure make for some pretty pictures. Along with making it easier to skip going to a movie theater when I can stay home and watch HD movies on my couch.

I switch between HD and SD, though I never got what the big deal was about HD. I can only slightly tell the difference.

Anyway, My PS2 and PS3 are hooked up to an HD tv in the basement somewhere in the 40" range (I wanna say closer to 50" but I really can't tell) My Wii is hooked up to another HD tv in the family room (again, somewhere in 40" range but closer to 46") and my Nes, Snes and Nintendo 64 are hooked up to a standard definition tv in my room (mid 20" range)

They only thing I prefer about HDtvs is that unlike many SDtvs, their display is completely rectangular, and with older tvs the display's sometimes rounded at the edges, which can warp the image on screen

I'm 23 years old and still going to college. (I've already earned my bachelors) I can't afford to get a HDTV... so yeah.

This, HDTV's are still quite expensive where I live, so I just use a 21 inch standard. It's not even flat screen.

Yes, and it sucks so badly because all games are made with illegible text. I hate it because I love to read through the text. A lot of background information is presented through text in Mass Effect, but I have no idea what any of it says. Assassin's Creed gives out instructions in that god awful print.
