Poor people do....or all Wii owners...which might be poor people too, lol.
You're a jerk, but so am I, which is why this made me lol.

OT: No, of course not. I even bought component cables for my Wii, though that just makes it look like a polished turd.

But yes, everything I watch/play is in HD now, except for when I boot up the classics (PS1/PS2/GCN/etc.) - many of which regrettably look like ass when you play them on a 55" television.

Not planning on buying HD unless it becomes more affordable or I have a hell of a better reason than "It just looks pretty"

I'm still playing on an SD, can't afford HD. And honestly I don't see a big enough difference for it to be worth it. My huge SD has kept me going for over decade and hasn't failed yet.

I play on SD, HDTVs cost so goddamn much, and to me it's not worth it. Even though I miss it sometime :-/

I have a lot of old consoles ranging back to the Magnavox Odyssey 2 so I always keep an SDTV and a back-up on hand for those (Specifically, a 30" Toshiba from 1992 and a 28" RCA Colortrax from 1984. Best SDTV's I ever owned).

My PS3, Xbox360, Wii and the computer I'm using right now all run through a 40" HDTV. Kinda stupid though that people will waste the time to insult the VHS format, we only had to use for over 2 decades. I even have the most recent VCR that JVC made (2007) hooked up to this TV for viewing my old tapes, they look so much clearer on a HDTV. Why would I do that? Because there are tapes that I own that have still not made it to DVD, let alone Blu-Ray. Some are rare gold, some are weird shit, some are humanly insulting but that's the appeal to them... get some friends around and blow their minds.

And something unrelated but even more hilarious? I have a Vinyl LP of Dutch porno from the 60's. That is, it was a reel-to-reel film that needed the record's audio to play in sync with it for the full effect. Sadly, or thankfully, I don't have the film to go with it.

But back to the SDTV thing... yeah, don't ever hook up an NES or Atari to an HDTV. If you do, you'll know why. Get yourself an old TV for cheap from a Flea Market that works reasonably well if you want to play those things. Probably the best reason to still own one.

Yes, and it sucks so badly because all games are made with illegible text. I hate it because I love to read through the text. A lot of background information is presented through text in Mass Effect, but I have no idea what any of it says. Assassin's Creed gives out instructions in that god awful print.
This is the one thing that may cause me to make a the jump to HD, which is pathetic really. I have to squint to read the writing on most games now-a-days.

I have an HD TV, because I thought it was a waste of money to have a pertty new HD system and no HD TV to go with it. Theyre affordable now. I highly recommend Vizio TVs to anyone who may be looking into it. Theyre priced real well and great sets. I have one and my roommate, who used to work for a Best Buy call center, swears by them.

nope. I mean, you can get a 32" HD for dirt at best buy. I have three in my house (the one in the living room is 42", though).

I figure everyone's moved up to HD by now..but I could be wrong...I may have to switch back to SD for a while if this keeps up..my MW2 360 keeps freezing for some reason...I'm not sure if it's the console, or if it's glitches in the games themselves that is causing it...either way, I might have to buy a new 360. o-o..and the new slims don't come with HD cables. T-T
I tend to play my ps3 and 360 on the HDTV in my room, but ocasionally if I want to chat on the pc while playing a game, I'll hook up to the Standard one on my computer room. I'm currently playing Digital Devil Saga right now as we speak, and I finished the whole of Darksiders in Standard definition.
I don't even know what that game looks like in High definition.

Still SD here, though more of a budget issue than a choice, rather buy new games than a new sparkly way of playing stuff I've already played a lot. Course when the prices are more reasonable I'll probably take the plunge, just a matter of time :p
Same goes for me but not only is it budget, but for me graphics are not as important as a good story well told and at least half way decent gameplay. Something to me is not going to be worth playing in HD if it sucks as a game. P.S. on my TV (which is an SD) I found that putting in the HD cables with the SD ones and switching to its colorstream function icreases the quality. Not HD but somewhere in between SD and HD
