The problem is that complaining about this game in terms of sexism is somewhat problematic.
In my opinion, singling this game out as if it's particularly sexist or aberrant is a horrible idea (this is how I perceive what McEwan is doing), but there's nothing wrong with using it as a general example of widespread cultural assumptions and messed-up tropes.

I feel daft now that I saw that quote. I should've read it to get a synonym in there somewhere.

The sentiment that you mention is pretty much where I stand.

I personally think anyone that plays a computer GAME is a looser. The feminists that get up all in arms about games about a fat chick game, really worry's me. Who the fuck cares. The individuals playing theses game are all week little homosexuals that live with their mothers. To me they amount to nothing just as much as lesbians and fagots. It is funny to, cause looking at this forum there seems to be a abundance of them. Fat people I hate just as much, I weigh 150 LBS because I care about myself. Fat people in this country really disgust me. They just do not care about themselves. In the end they die as white trash scum. Fuck all of you fucking dorks!
I was waiting for the voice of reason, Thanks.

These sound like rather emotionally driven opinions (given your attention to detail), did either gamers or fat people (maybe even a mixture of both) wrong you in the past or abuse/bully you as a child? To me it seems funny that you have such resentment yet...you've visited a gaming forum (only makes you slightly hypocritical).

From your casual hateing of two entire groups of people (granted, quite a fair chunk overlap into both catagories) I can probably guess that you probably aren't very sociable yourself or you're just that damn arrogant. (and being a dork/geek isn't so bad...give it a try before you condemn it).

But...it has blood! And gore! And Blood AND Gore! Top that off with a "Happy Tree Friends" cartoonish style and you've got the most asskick-en-est game ever!

There's something absolutely adorable about your sexual insecurity.

I just can't wait to talk to whatever throwaway troll account you create next.

Somebody's trying to compensate for something... Teenage BS? No friends due to confusion of which end the crap comes out?

For such a homophobe/Health-Nazi/anti-gamer you've gone to some effort to say something that will be forgotten in a few days... Or not, this does seem to be quite a popular thread. Either way don't expect us to do anything other than insult your rant and condemn you as stupid.
If this was 4Chan this would become a new Meme and you would go down as another individual who metaphorically stands on hilltop in a copper hat, during a thunderstorm and screams "All Gods' Are Inbred Bastards!".

Although I am curious how you came in the first place?

Perhaps it was his spelling and grammar, or lack thereof. Or it could be the psychic waves coursing through the intertubes triggered the troll brainwave detectors, and the Mod superteam was scrambled to save the day. Not that any fancy equipment would be needed to analyze the patterns in that post. Assuming the person behind it is in any way normal to begin with, he's a perfect example of "John Gabriel's Greater Internet Dickwad Theory".

Sadly, in the original blog post (and followup) she seems to be condemning the game for having a fat female at all, and then assumes her opinion is validated because of contradictory arguments being returned in similar spirit of her own initial post. I'll preface the following with the 'I'm no expert' caveat, but it really does sound like she's projecting her own issues here. I could be mistaken, of course, but I have better things to do than explore the site of some random blogger making drama for the sake of drama.

Which one is it?

You could be refering to the feminist blogger being a drama whore, which I could agree with. But I think his pure hatred of gamers and other sexual orientations was bit too much don't you? Unless the points you agreed with ARE his views of gamers, gays and lesbians.

Holly from Feministe:
The prototypical online gamer (at least the kind that burn their free time posting on message boards and blogs) is not only used to screaming offensive inanities at each other, but is crouched in a perpetual defensive posture, waiting to lash out if anyone dares slight their console of choice, claim that video games brainwash teens into shooting up high schools, or suggest that any game they like might be worth a political critique.
Yeah, pretty accurate.

Coz I think Holly has just been prejudiced to me, and also people like Msch., Gigantor, Russ Pitts, Blazethevampire, Susan Arendt and others.
None of which I have ever seen crounched in a defensive position ready to fling offensive inanities.

P.S. Or John Jonston, Purple Rain, Indigo (mostly ;)), Wilson, Nil (Oh flip, now I have to name everyone.....

Sounds to me like Holly(Feministe) is much more amiable than McEwan(middle finger). Besides, she did mention the word "prototypical", and doubly qualified it referring to forumites not all gamers.

We're pretty congenial here, but the much of the internet doesn't use the ban hammer as much, resulting in little to no accountability. That means more offensive inane comments (see: 4chan).
