I feel that's completely untrue. I know that if i look up some more history that there will be some women that stand up to the white man. Jean of Arc comes to mind and a few of those African American (I try to stay away from saying "Black") Women protesters back in the 60s of 70s.

Women had many times to invent and be famous, it's just they were portrayed as homemakers back then and still are now mainly (that probably contradicted everything i just said)

I'm sorry to choose Alex to argue with because his/her points have been very insightful up to this point. That said, I must make an objection to this sentiment that "everyone" is harmed equally by such damage. That's like saying the stereotypes of African Americans were just as harmful as stereotypes about Anglo Americans. There is a very clear "us" and "them" mentality from both sides that was and is demonstrated through housing, education, employment, and acceptance. Perhaps the origin of prejedice is universal, but the results are not. The young woman who made the post in anger is not representing a new found prejudice but instead demonstrates a frustration that is historical in nature.

For those of you that keep up, a woman still doesn't make the same amount of money as a man. It hasn't even been one century since the U.S. allowed women to vote. I'm sure I don't need to go on here. Can we really be surprised that women might be a little bit sensitive about issues of gender stereotyping? I'm not saying that a huge hub-bub over a small game like this is appropriate. But I understand her anger and I certainly don't think she deserves all the horrible titles this forum of intelligent(?) individuals has applied, nor do I think its time to call feminism outdated and declare equality for all.

It's not ok to be fat. If you're ok with being huge, then awesome. However you have no right to be offended if someone calls you fat. Why is this you ask?...because you're fat. They take up too much space, use all of our oxygen for simple tasks like standing up, they eat all our food, and their gas is tearing a hole in the ozone layer.

You added the word "equally." I never said "equally." I didn't mean to imply it, either.

EDIT: I should be also clearer in saying that "everyone" is harmed specifically in the case of normative gender assumptions. Whether that's also the case for other kinds of constructs is kind of beyond the scope of this discussion.

"Herstory" is true bullshit as "History" comes from the greek root "Historia" which means "inquiry, knowledge acquired by investigation" not "His Story".

Sybban... that is kind of rude (Laughs) But really, its okay to be upset if some one says " you make Jabba the Hut look like Jarred (Subway)" But it's another thing if someone makes a game involving a fat person and someone fat saying "they made fun of ME!"
P.S. If we have enough plants, we can have as much oxygen as we need, so fat people dont "use it all up"

I try to stay away from saying African American personally due to my hate of PC and unnecessarily long words. And if women had 40 years and men had thousands, I'd think you'd feel ashamed that you can only think of 4 times more men who were inventors/rulers/discoverers .

What I'm getting at is the feminists NEED a central unified body with a reasonable stance towards the situation, because if they are all divided, no one will listen to them and their voice will be much weaker.

Feminist political action is fairly unified.

It's feminist theory and feminist cultural commentary that are divided. I don't think they really need to be united, though, since neither is about direct, concerted action anyway. The fact that two feminist academics or bloggers will say contradictory things on a lot of minutiae and call it "feminism" is a bit annoying, but I don't think it really has much impact on the "movement's" essential ability to get things done.

So people with naturally high metabolisms who don't have to work to stay skinny get a free out?

People who have slow metabolisms that they can't control are punished?

What about people with psychological eating disorders?

What about people who honestly don't have time to work out?

I understand the dislike of people who purposefully keep themselves fat but your logic is a little warped.

I have to agree with most of the people in here. The game doesn't seem to be offensive. It's showing that no matter what happens, they will always rescue the princess. Also, there would be no one really complaining if it was a fat prince. My only question is why she is trying to sound so intelligent when she can just come out and say how angry she is in simple terms so that everyone can understand it. She yells as some people posting because they don't understand every word she wrote in her letter. Is she trying to compensate, even though she says she isn't miserable? Also, I decided to try not to be ignorant and read most of the posts on that site. They end up going into which spell of final fantasy would be best to use against the "trolls" in the post areas. It only seems like she's angry but that kind of posting just seems like an attention whore.
