I can't give any advice but I will be keeping a close eye on this. I've been thinking about selling my Xbox in exchange for a PS3 for yonks now.
Don't. I own both and the xbox is better, the ps3 is basically just my dvd player now.
Except not. Better in what way? By being inferior in every way? About the only thing xbox has over PS3 is the online system and that's ONLY because everyone pays 50$ a year.
And, first fanboy post.

Anyway, see Lord Cuthburton's post for my thoughts on the matter.

First? So calling the xbox better to start with, isn't a fanboy comment? I have nothing against the xbox, but it's not better hardware than the ps3.

All I'm saying is that the PS3 is better for DVDs, music and other things. Everything except games Which, call me crazy, should be the most important thing in a games console.
And I have an Ipod for music
A regular DVD player (or an xbox) would suffice for DVDs
And most laptops do the internet and can play Iplayer and can be plugged it into TVs for equal screensize.

If you want a wide range of great games, keep your xbox, if you want a media centre, get a PS3.

Either way it makes no difference to me, just some friendly advice from someone who has experience of owning both.

if you bought a 360 supplement, and i hate to be rude here, what did you buy a 360 for?

//End of the day, did you buy a multi-media centre, a PS, an online-gameing portol, an X-box 360 //supplement, or a stand-alone games console?

//original question? games console or media centre bastard?

//Both are fully intended for use as gaming console. It's just that multi-platform games will be //bought for the 360, and very rarely...BOTH CONSOLES.

yes, i agree, and i'm sorry if i pissed you off here. I just think that yes, while both are intended as gaming consoles, they both bring other functions to the gaming/ multimedia arena.

If, as has been suggested, you are more concerned about gaming ( a) resonable for a GAMES CONSOLE, b) seems fair) c) XBOX has more games, then go ahead.

sorry, i was trying to offer advice on thinking outside the gamin' cube.

but of you're happy, get XBOX for games, and PS3 for longevity and graphics.

Another question...

How do I zoom out even further on the browser? The Escapist's video player is too big, even when I zoom the screen out as far as possible with L2. Is there a layout change or something else that can help?

Really? Because looking at my game collection I can't say there are any Xbox exclusives I'd miss. Why is it that you prefer the Xbox? Is it just the game catalog?

Stop the flame war before it starts. Games are all about your personal taste, no console is truly better than any other. Except the Cd-i.

Yeah, more or less, and the social features. I think they're fairly important in a games console.

NOW I HAVE THE 3 CURRENT CONSOLES! BWA HA HA!

I'm not asking for a ton of game recommendations, so don't do that.

In case you were wondering...here is what I bought, anyway.

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction
Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time
Little Big Planet GOTY
Valkyria Chronicles

Still no headset or HDMI cable. Store was out...

I just have a few questions:

1.
Does it have any sort of "private chat/party chat" system? So that I can talk to people while playing different games than them. Or even when playing single player games.

2.
What's good on PSN Store? So, I am asking for SOME recommendations. But not full retail games. And not the PS1 classics section, either. I mean stuff like Joe Danger, Flower, Everyday Shooter, etc.

3.
WHY THE FUCK WON'T IT ACCEPT MY CREDIT CARD INFO? Should I not put a space in my name, or what?

I want to buy FF8 and 9, Grandia 1, and Wild Arms 1 and 2!

4.
Will you be my friend? PSN account is in my Escapist profile.

Hypnotoad_Onyx

5.
Anything useful that I should know?
1.
Use the 'Text Chat' function. It's useful for long conversations.

2.
Braid is awesome!

3.
Not sure, you could use a PSN Card voucher thing.

4.
Sure, if you want. I'm ChaosRevolution :)

5.
Don't respond to chain messages. Occasionally someone will send you something like "Send this to everyone
on your friends list and get $50 (or whatever) on PSN Store!" They're all fake, as are the ones that ask for your password etc.

6.
Have fun :D

My bad.

Second fanboy comment will have to suffice.

1) Only text in-game, sorry

2) Afterburner Climax, Fat princess, Wipeout HD

3) Umm, Not sure, worked with my debit card

4) Add Darktau :D

5) Buy an audio adapter and use a PC headset, the ps3 headsets can be a bit low quality (Although my ears suck)
Actually you are wrong about #1. If you either subscribe to PSN + or have a friend who is you can do the party thing. But someone has to be a subscriber.

P.S.
I am NEVER getting MGS4.
first off, good choice of first games, especially A Crack in Time, that game is keeping me
from my Uni homework.

1. I'm not aware of any cross-game voice chat, but I'm sure you can set your chat to a specific group of people depending on the game.

2.If you want some awesome games from the PSN, go for SARPBC. Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars. YES IT'S AS GOOD AS THE NAME IMPLIES.
Also Flower, which I recently picked up is the bomb and FLOw is supposed to be great too. Other than that I do't really have the cash to routinely fork out cash for the latest games on PSN, but they're the ones I'd reccommend.

3. I dunno. It does the same thing with my brother's card., so we just buy PSN cards. It's easier, so if you're near an EM or something, check if they have them, they come in $30 and $50.

4. Sure I'll add ya, I'm captaincabbage online, so anything ya wanna ask, feel free to ask me.

5. Don't fall for those "If you send this msg to 20 friends you'll win $80!!!!!!!!!!1!1!" things, I get them sometimes and they're just spam.
Also, don't just go out and buy a game because a friend told you to, make up your own mind, but I'm sure you already know that. ^^

Well it is a good thing you asked. Cuz it looks like I am wrong. It was supposed to be included but now it looks like it is all over the place and all the "journalists" just seem to be spouting nonsense that contradicts each other. Its coming, it isn't coming, you will have to pay, you won't have to pay. Sorry bout that.
