Not as bad? In CoD everything you do except moving and dying get's you closer to unlocking that new weapon you want. In TF2 you have to either jump through a lot of difficult hoops (10 right?), get really lucky and get the exact item you want, or pay through the nose. That doesn't sound easier. Not to mention most of those eleven items will either be lock boxes (I hope you won't miss three dollars) or worthless hats. As to your second remark, you mean like stat padding? Most people I know look down on that big time.
Yet, unlike TF2, in COD you NEED those new weapons to compete. Which means, a new player is not only at a disadvantage because of their lack of knowledge on the game, but also because they don't have "teh best stuff" to fight with. Yeah. That sounds LOADS better.
I didn't mean "stat" padding. That's for people who play games like COD that require you to be of a certain rank to have fun. What I meant was earning a few achievement, by actually DOING them (not cheating or exploiting), and getting the item unlocks. Which, by the way, is not frowned upon. Even by Valve.
Pay through the nose? You don't have to pay a cent to get what you want in TF2. You get a random hat in a drop this week? Well then good news. It's worth, bare minimum, a refined metal. So, a quick trade and you've got yourself enough metal to craft just about any weapon you want. And that's off of just two or three of your ELEVEN items a week. And as someone pointed out, that doesn't count crates. Those are a separate drop. One you don't actually have to accept. But then, you can also trade crates for items or metal. Some people love crates.
You just keep repeating yourself over and over. You've clearly made up your mind so why stay in this thread and complain about it? Please, go back to playing COD as it seems your kind of game. One that rewards extended play instead of skill.

What crosshair are you using? The Heavy's default crosshair is a big circle for a reason; the bullets, rather than going to the center, go to the edge of the circle. I've taken out snipers from half way across the map as the heavy before, because I know how to aim with him. Also, teamwork happens all the time, and even mediocre players tend to win a lot. It sounds like you need to find some decent servers to play on.
As far as drops, as others have pointed out, they're almost entirely unnecessary. The default weapons are the general purpose guns; the other ones are highly situational, and don't give a huge advantage even in the situation they're designed for. And that 11 drops per day? That's not counting crates, which have their own separate drop rate. I'll give you that hats eat some of those drops, but you're delusional if you think they drop more often than weapons. I think I have more vintage Nataschas alone than I have all hats combined.
Edit: And I primarily play scout; Natascha's drop rate used to be way too high.
You must hate the latest update. Valve restored the 100% chance to slow on hit to the Natascha. The bane of all Scouts, lol.
