So I just got expelled for smelling a girl's hair, or the Quirkyness of The Escapist Community.

I am disappointed this isn't a silly story about you being caught sniffing a girl's hair. My faith in humanity has been utterly destroyed by you, good sir!

But yeah, the "I've lost faith in humanity!" threads grate faster then someone running a cheese grater across my nipples.

As for posts, nothing really bothers me post wise, apart from the posts of one user whose ego literally knows no bounds. People who know me well know who I mean as I've complained a bit about him before. I've probably given away more there then I intended too but eh, I'm vanishing for four days after this post so I don't care.

And for the record, I like Jack and Calumon's gimmick. It's fun, something which this forum severely lacks at times.
Yeah, you're right. I also like their gimmick. I kind of wish more people did something like that...

The Russian: Come on, just do it! I know you want to just randomly stab one of these people! You know you always pack your survival knife, Allen. I know...

The fact that the points I want to make known are ignored, and people always pick out any mistakes I made hundreds of time. It's only when they disagree with me that they notice me

It doesn't make me want to rage quit, but it is always kinda odd, eh, whatever, I'll live

Um what? The title is comepletly off topic and ridiculous.
Um, whos' life will be ruined because of that then?

Ok, have we all finished picking on the thread title now because our simple little minds cant handle a little surprise or 'dissapointment' now and then? ..Good.

As for the forum habit I dislike the most.. Oh lets see. People picking on the way other people post, in a poor attempt to come across as witty and mature or whatever, honestly.
Other like-minded people dont come here to have their topics pissed on and unanswered by people who think its somewhat funny to point fingers at every little imperfection somebody has made. Willingly or not. "Oh, the title was misleading.. lets all post like twats on his clearly evil and misleading thread!" Please... give it a rest

Honestly. This thread just proves it.
Girls aint gonna want to sleep with you any more because you write like sarcastic wannabe cyber bully. Give it rest. You're nothing special, we all have eyes and dont need your witty comments to bring attention to every little mistake or outlandish trick another person does..

Some of us less insecure people actually enjoy these tricks you other suckers seem to feel the need to pick on... but carry on if it makes you feel real good.

Thankyou

Hello, Escapist. We are a community with certain traditions and mannerisms; topics of discussion recur reasonably often, 'the basement' is alluded to every time we gain a new member, and certain turns of phrase have become ingrained in our vernacular. It's nice, it's cosy, it's familiar.
Be it zombie threads, losing your faith in humanity due to an encounter with urine on a toilet-seat or the desire to understand why some people don't like that franchise you like, certain threads and posts can be seen every day on our forums.

So..which little forum habit annoys you the most? I personally hate the whole 'Skynet' scenario, whereby any article about robotics will be bombarded with tired allusions to the Terminator franchise and proclamations of our imminent doom. That sh-t is annoying, and a disservice to roboticists.

Edit: Fixed the thread title, it was far too vague. Hope it worked, sorry about that.
What the hell? This post makes no sense.
It's a very roundabout way of calling certain posters out on predictable, creepy and annoying behaviour. And asking if there are any particular examples that the community has noticed.

Hail to the Thief, by the way.

I hate how everyone thinls their about to get hate when they say religion bad or science is the best, expecting hate not realizing the community here is agreeing with them.

On basically every thread I hear people posting about 'losing their faith in humanity'.
The f*** does that even mean? And why would anyone care?

Yes, because I have no right to comment on a title that clashed horribly with the subject being discussed. esspcially as I was one of the people who posted before the title was changed so that it had some relevence to the topic being discussed.

Non-sequitur. Like this one, for instance. WTF does a girl's hair have to do with this thread? The irony of it?

The threads which ***** about other threads, and threads that descend into "it was much better before so many people came here!"

This is the internet mate. Do whatever the sod you like. =)
Just dont try and be the riteous defender of the forums because they're really not needed.
If we needed the obvious pointed out, or need saving from the evil missleaders, I'm sure we'll ask for it.

And your first post had no relevence! You just picked on the guy! ..great one.

I actually understood the title, because people frequently discuss things like in the topic. Still not very funny though...
