So I just got expelled for smelling a girl's hair, or the Quirkyness of The Escapist Community.

Edit: Fixed the thread title, it was far too vague. Hope it worked, sorry about that.
Really? This is less vague? What in the hell was it beforehand?

What annoys me most is twofold: deceptive thread titles, and failed attempts to be witty. You've neatly encompassed both here.

My least favorite threads haven't been around in a while and I fear mentioning them by name will make them return

I saw a couple of "Favourite Quotes from X" threads a while ago. (I say a while, it could've been 2 years ago, my concept of time is sketchy). I'm a firm, firm hater of quoting things, especially comedy routines. Added frustration points if the person doesn't REFERENCE what they're quoting and just try to pass it off as their own wit whilst I internally debate whether to call them out on it or not.

I don't really understand what's happening; did you smell someone's hair or not?

Hmmm...

Well I always really hate those 'Am I the only one?' threads.

CLEARLY you are NOT the only one in the world who likes/hates/does x.

Um what? The title is comepletly off topic and ridiculous.
Um, whos' life will be ruined because of that then?

Ok, have we all finished picking on the thread title now because our simple little minds cant handle a little suprise or 'dissapointment' now and then? ..Good.
Yes, because I have no right to comment on a title that clashed horribly with the subject being discussed. esspcially as I was one of the people who posted before the title was changed so that it had some relevence to the topic being discussed.
This is the internet mate. Do whatever the sod you like. =)
Just dont try and be the riteous defender of the forums because they're really not needed.
If we needed the obvious pointed out, or need saving from the evil missleaders, I'm sure we'll ask for it.

And your first post had no relevence! You just picked on the guy! ..great one.
I thought I put an O.T statement there. hm, Oh well.

This.

Also the whole number of threads which complain about how soceity frowns upon the OP's misogynistic, racist and/or homophobic views which is then deemed a double standard or "political correctness gone mad".
I want you to know that my hate for you knows no bounds.
I saw your avatar and my heart literally skipped a beat as I thought for a spilt second that the horror of the red button had returned to me.

How could you do that you Monster.

I hate any thread in which the opening post was written by someone that thinks their opinion is irrefutable and that they are some sort of demi-god that will always be better than you. Unfortunately sometimes you get quite a lot of that here.

You win the Title Prize for Best Titling (Titleing? I don't know, but you've won it).

On-topic: the "check out this crazy shit!" threads that begin with a link to something easily dismissed as insane. Seven pages of "OMG this is insane" makes a contrary opinion impossible to express. E.g the "a man is a rape supporter if" thread and the thousands upon thousands of pixels of drivel that followed it.

Any thread, the end result of which could be achieved with a search engine. The ethics or philosophy of X? Someone has already written on it, and they have done so in a more illuminating way than the forums will.

The "why can't we just agree on this terribly obvious solution to this terribly controversial subject?" threads, for obvious reasons.

And, of course the "humanity/society/[big-name Escapist contributer] has failed me" threads, also for obvious reasons.

I apologise sincerely, unfortunatly I have "Beiber fever" (only joking, until I youtubed him recently I had never heard a Justin Beiber song). Everytime I post my avatar kills a guitar!

I agree with your 'access to irrefutable truth' point!
