So I just got final fantasy 7

Hello fellow escapees I just downloaded FF7 to my computer and was just kind of wondering how long it takes to beat I'm about 3 hours in and I feel I've only scratched the surface so can anyone give me an idea on how long this will be?

Be about 30 if you get a gold chocobo.

EDIT: 45 if you kill both Weapons.

My first time was around 36 hours. I didn't spend much time doing things like the arena or chocobo breeding. It should last you a fair while.

I dunno, I never look at time when I play it, but it feels like it takes forever, which is a good thing!

Took me at least 40 hours, judging from my PS1 save data.

Depends on how many sidequests you want to complete, but I would suggest grinding your face off early on, once you get onto the world map.

My saved files say something like 70 hours but I did everything and I'd leave the game running on it's own a lot ;D

I was on it for 68hours, but I did go over the top with leveling and at Golden Saucer.

Between 30-40 I'd guess, for a first playthrough that's done some things along the way as well as story.

edit: I think I have a file thats between 60-70hrs, don't have my PSX with me though so I can't check.

yeah if you wanna do like everything (use a guide!), then it will take you probably around 50 horus maybe 60, but if you just do the main story and a couple things, im assuming 30, i always do alot tho, the chocobo stuff is fun and getting the extra sidequests and seraching the islands was fun

I clocked somewhere around 50 my first run through, but the golden saucer took a lot of my time. My second time, I completed everything in the game and I clocked around 75 hours. Long, but great game.

I would guess about 60-70 hours of actual gaming. Per playthrough. I quit and started over again several times, sometimes for fun, usually because I'd messed up and once because I was getting my ass handed to me by the final boss. When I eventually managed to beat him, I'd owned the game for two years, and played through almost the whole thing at least three or four times!

It depends on how much of it you want to play, really. About half the stuff you can do is optional!

Can somebody tell me why it's great? I downloaded it recently aswell but to my PS3 and I have just got off the train to blow the second thing up and I have yet to be anything but annoyed by it.

yeah, if you want just the main story you can generally clock through at 30 - 40 hours. all side quests and what not add to that. like someone mentioned i would grind at points. there is a group of bosses than can be quite lethal for an under leveled newbie to ff vii.

I can probably get it done in about 50-55 hours if I sped through and didn't stop to enjoy it and probably as low as 45 hours if I go all bare-bones speedrunning. But I usually take my time, enjoy life, train like a demon, etc. so I've eclipsed 100 hours each playthrough.

Give it a chance. You've only just started. You haven't even met the true antagonist yet.

While I'm not a huge fan of FF7 (understatement), you're not much further than the beginning. Why does it annoy you?

You should stop right now and go play FFVI or FFIV they are just as long as VII and much more worth your time (also you will get maybe 15-25 hours out of it, but seriously for the sake of final fantasy stop playing VII!)
