...No. Emphatically not. MW2 is one of the worst online games around.

If you want a warfare-based shooter go for Bad Company 2, or Battlefield 2, or the original Modern Warfare... Or anything but MW2 really.

If you're not restricted to warfare shooters, then TF2, the L4D series as you mentioned, Shattered Horizon, and, again, anything that's NOT MW2.

All of the above are, obviously, better on the PC if you have one that can run them (like...anything really) but even if you played them on an iphone with only one hand they'd still be a better online experience than MW2.

On the contrary, it seems they have been doing you a favor.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

I actually really like playing MW2 online, on the PC though. Remember im interested only in 360/console exclusives. I have an i7 PC hooked up to a 28" monitor that can play anything, and will be able to for a long time.

I have been a PC gamer and only a PC gamer since I was a small child playing Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis, but iv finally been persuaded to buy a console by this offer:

http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/13665734/Xbox-360-Elite-Console-+-Halo-ODST-+-Forza-Motorsport-3-+-Gears-of-War-2-+-Fable-II/Product.html

Microsoft have been screwing us PC gamers good over the last few years. We got Halos 1&2 but not 3, Fable but not Fable 2 and Gears of war but not it's sequel. So I'm finally taking the plunge and getting a 360. In addition to the included games I am going to buy Halo 3, Brutal Legend and Halo wars. As the 360 has been out for a few years I thought I would ask those of you who have owned one for a while if there are any other great games I should look into. Bear in mind that if it's also out for the PC I probably already have it, and if I dont id rather get it for the PC anyway. I don't like sports or driving games so dont bother mentioning those. Thanks in advance.
uh... actually... just RENT Brutal Legend. it's not that good of a "keep" game...
Oh yes it is. In my oh-so-humble opinion [sub]that is way better than yours [/sub] Brutal Legend was one of the most interesting, fun, and unique games I have ever played.

Go for the following: Brutal Legend
Halo 3
Fable 2
Gears of War 2
Dante's Inferno (If you like that sort of thing)
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Bioshock 2

That should keep you occupied for a while.
i played brutal legend and ended up selling it
i have dante's inferno, still wondering about arkham asylum and own bioshock 2...
i don't bother listing halo 3, fable 2 or GOW 2 since i own a ps3, so i haven't played them.
I hope you know I was just joking about the Brutal Legend thing. :p

I loved that game, but I can see why you didn't.

(If you have a PS3, try a Monster Hunter title. In the Western Hemisphere it has a small cult following, but in Japan the game sells out millions. And it's NOT a JRPG!)
played monster hunter freedom for the psp, good while it lasted but ended up selling it

Wait... Gears 2 didn't come out on PC?

Why the hell not?
I think Microsoft said something along the lines of: "GoW was pirated on PC by more people then those who actually bought the game, so we're not porting the sequel."

Or atleast that's what I remember of it.

You should get Bayonetta and Mass Effect 1 and 2. Awesome games.
If you like online play, Modern Warfare 2 and L4D2.
A few classics that everyone should own and are very cheap now are Crackdown and Dead Rising.
Bayonetta, and Crackdown are the only ones you can only get for consoles... neither deserves more than a rental.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Bioshock 2

are also for the PC.

"GOW 1, Heavy Rain, Lost Planet 2, Brink is coming too, Red Dead Redemption also.." all of those are either going to be on the PC or are already. Also GOW 2-3 are both going for the pc (unless you mean GOD of war not Gears of war). Lost planet 2 is comming for both consoles (not to mention most of what you put up there except maybe red dead redemption

I believe you need a source, and no, if they said that, then every single game from the 360 would not be on the PC

Also Halo3 did not come on to the PC because they wanted to make money off of the map packs. If it came on to the PC, we would have cracked the source code and made our own maps.
(actually I think we already did!

I understand completely. If I can get a game on PC, I get it on PC...consoles are for other games.

It's quite hard coming up with ideas here. Soul Calibur can be fun(if you like that sort of thing), I heard Bad Company was good(don't know from first hand experience though).

Uhm...I'll just throw some more names out there.

Ninja Gaiden 2?
Conan(the GOW clone, not the mmorpg)...I enjoyed it.
I also heard that Marvel: Ultimate alliance was pretty cool, might be an idea for something to play with your wife.

I have to reaffirm the Crackdown love in this thread. I don't know why I loved it quite as much as I did...but I did.

Yeh...I don't know.

If you're wondering about crackdown, It's basically prototype meets Robocop. Personally, I like it, and you can probably pick it up for dirt cheap. Probably worth it.
I got it last year for $5.

Twas quite the bargain.

not a fan of zombie games so dead rising is out, whats Crackdown? also anything with strong co-op would be ace. my wife and I love playing games together.
I'd normally suggest L4D2, but that's a heavy co-op game against a zombie-infested south...

However, maybe Army of Two: The 40:th Day could be something for you and your loved one.

Both games are for the XBOX and PSP. So it's a good recommendation.

PC all the way, none of the games you have mentioned I feel even slightly inclined to play.

Where is the mod scene? NOWHERE.
And you get XboxLive fags. You know those annoying pre-teen tools. and those ones that act like annoying pre-teen tools.
And you don't get a mouse and keyboard.
And you don't get to use my BEAST of a computer.
Still, some games are just better with controller, fighters (tekken etc) raceing games, and hack'n slashers like DMC and God of War. And platformers, though they're sparse these days.
You can lie on your couch while playing.
Dunno how bad live is, but online PC gaming is full of retards with mics as well.

My PC dos get the majority of my game time, but i still won't decline my PS3 or Wii.

The problem with Xbox 360 is that MOST games (not all mind you) is or coming to the pc one way or another.

I bought a PS3 for 3 reason: More exclusive titles, free online and I prefer the PS3 controller (The xbox controll is good too but still...).

By having a PC, PS3 and a wii, it allows me a wider range of games then I would have if I bought a 360 instead of PS3.

But if you prefer 360, your money.

I think you'll find that's just your opinion, not a fact.
It may have a few problems but it's a really fun game when played with a bunch of friends over XBL.

Facts:

- Horribly imbalanced perks.
- Dreadful anti-game killstreak perks that are not only imbalanced but also reward camping.
- Almost all guns 2-hit-kill people with the stopping power perk, and you can even dual wield many of them (which is utterly ridiculous), resulting in a more luck-based "who stumbles across who" first gameplay, which in turn rewards camping.
- LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG. Peer-to-peer connections mean someone will inevitably have a considerable advantage, and everyone else can go suck it.
- Complete lack of any control over your game since it's matchmaking and peer-to-peer.

While liking anything is ultimately a matter of taste, you can like licking dog turds for all I anyone cares, and you can't really argue with that, I think there are enough factual evidence to argue quality.

Thanks for the info peeps. Any good fighting games out? Bayonetta is a maybe and I never bougt DMC4 for the PC as I found with DMC3 that you really NEED a controller.

EDIT:

Yeah, that "costumers" line is hilarious xD
