You're joking!? People are really so idiotic nowadays that they find everything offensive? I don't see anything wrong with Watto as a character.latenightapplepie said:Good luck dealing with the whole 'four races of humans' thing. Could be more than a little un-PC.
"Send in the Redguard! He should be able run quickly and fight well with his longsword".
"No, I think we need someone articulate to negotiate with the enemy instead, tell the Imperial to go"
There is a subtle, awkward racism to the Elder Scrolls games that a mainstream audience might not receive well.
Remember Watto, from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace? I could be guessing, but Star Wars fans and nerds in general (myself included) did not, unlike the majority of the viewing public, see him as a space jew [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watto#Reception]. Mainstream audiences have different perspectives is all, and sometimes what appeared as totally harmless, is from another angle really really objectionable.
In any case, I don't think the game would translate very well into a film.
And all the actors should try and perfect a perpetual look of dull disinterest, even when you threaten to kill them and burn their children.Fredrikorex said:If they do a movie they should only use five or six voices in the movie to make It more like the game.
ahahah it could be that its 7 an i havent slept, but that is the funniest thing ive heard all dayFredrikorex said:If they do a movie they should only use five or six voices in the movie to make It more like the game.
I don't think George Lucas is anti-semitic. What with being Jewish and everything.latenightapplepie said:Remember Watto, from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace? George Lucas is Jewish? I never would've guessed. Lucas doesn't sound very Jewish.Valkyrie101 said:I don't think George Lucas is anti-semitic. I can see where they are coming from. I didn't think he was offensive. But I'm not Jewish. Another example of this is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen's supposed African-American Transformers, Mudflap and Skids. Michael Bay had to respond and has, I believe, cut them from third film. I haven't see it, so I don't know how offensive it may have been.burzummaniac said:You're joking!? People are really so idiotic nowadays that they find everything offensive? According to his Wikipedia page [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Lucas#Personal_life], he was raised as a Methodist and is now a "Buddhist Methodist". Whatever that means.Valkyrie101 said:I don't think George Lucas is anti-semitic. What with being Jewish and everything.latenightapplepie said:Remember Watto, from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace? People get offended quite easily these days, you're right. They think, rightly or wrongly, that people are trying to fly their blatant racism under the radar but hiding them behind fantasy or sci-fi characters.
Oh, my bad. Confused him with Steven Spielberg.latenightapplepie said:According to his Wikipedia page [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Lucas#Personal_life], he was raised as a Methodist and is now a "Buddhist Methodist".
