Its getting more and more annoying. Just legalize it and everyone will be happy. I have done reaserch on numerous websites, books, and so forth, and there really isnt that bad side effects too smoking weed. And alot of people dont go to harder drugs after. Its just a bunch of idiots that were brainwashed into believing that stuff like weed is the devil's ciggerate. And no, i dont smoke, i just support the idea.If we can smoke, drink, and do other stuff that kill millions a year, why cant a plant that has no recorded history of killing someone be illegal. The world confuses me.

Democracy triumphs again.

That wasn't sarcasm, btw. People made a decision. It may or may not be the right one, but it's A decision
The fuck?

thats like saying, Nature triumphs again ever time you take shit. Hell yeah it part of the fucking thing. How could you have democracy fail? them not reach a decision even though they all voted? is that even possible?

Moral of this topic: Vote, *****.

I don't have a problem with people who smoke marijuana. Not a smoker myself, but as long as they aren't lighting up at work or school or in public, there's really not a problem with it. However, the people voted, and they said no.

Look as Amsterdam. Extremely low crime rate, marijuana is legal there.
Look at the US.

Fondue is legal, and we have a growing elderly population.

Correlation? I think so!

/sarcasm.

More along the whole, "Drugs are legal there, and they don't have many problems with them", but I neglected to realize that there might be a slow person or two here. Forgive me, I should never assume that they can make the logical connection themselves.

But you know, what ever gives you the illusion of being funny.

No, I was just pointing out that just because there are two things in one place, doesn't necessarily mean that there is a correlation/relation/connection between them.

Drugs should be illegal everywhere, altogether, no matter what kind it is.

And this comes from a guy living in the Netherlands, where the dumbasses who actually get legal weed and such waste their time on the crap.
so also alcohol?
why?
The majority opinion on this thread seems to be "Because potheads are annoying."
I'm no policy-maker, but I think we can instinctively assume that's sound basis for a law.
So because someone is annoying there should be a law against them?

You annoy me with that statement, so by your logic there should be a law against you right.

This is what happened -

Pothead 1 - Man, I'm so totally amped over how weed is going to become legal! (tokes joint)
Pothead 2 - Seriously bro, we're finally going to be able to smoke herbs without the man breathing down our necks! (tokes joint)
Pothead 1 - Yeah man, all the people are going to vote it through! Should we go vote? (tokes joint)
Pothead 2 - No, there's not many people opposed to it and I'd rather spend the day getting high and playing video games. (tokes joint)
Pothead 1 - Okay bro, but first lets go down to the dispensary and get some more weed. (tokes joint)
Pothead 2 - Choice! Got any cash? I'm broke since my mom cut me off. (tokes joint)

Stoners are notorious for talking a lot but being too high to take any action.

I'll tell you this much, in 20 years when all the baby boomers are dead, I do believe it will be a new day for America... But I must say, based on educational statistics for your country that even if 60% of the population had voted any which way it's hard to say if it was the right choice.

It is your right to vote, even if you choose to exercise that right by penciling in Nader as your choice for elected official. To simply not show up, just shows them how voiceless you are.

To put things in perspective, I'm high right now, I'll probably have a puff tomorrow, and yes I was high the last time I placed my vote! Therefore Prohibition Is Fail!

I heartily agree with this philosophy. In our mortal universe everything can be a decided triviality. So the things we do for recreation (such as commenting on threads in the super amazing awesome escapist boards ♥ ) are all technically pointless, but still something we do to pass time, enjoy, relax, etc.

OT: The brewers smear and scare paid off, it seems. Pity, I figured our friends and neighbors out west would have been a lot ore progressive. Having grown up on LBC, I can at least see the repelling criminal angle, even though this would have done more to reduce crime than increase it. Seriously, this is a victory for beer makers and the cartel only, everyone else has lost out, smokers and non-smokers (like me) alike.

Things should not be illegal due to them being unsafe. People can legally drink bleach, but not use almost entirely harmless(when used responsibly) substances such as Marijuana. As long as the user is the only person hurt, any and all things should be totally legal, the government taxes it, impurity isn't an issue, it's measured out and given proper dosages, less space is taken up in prisons, among other things. I hate the arguments which claim how bad various drugs are for you, because honestly, it doesn't matter, if people want to sacrifice long life for personal pleasure, that's there choice and denying them that choice is unconstitutional.

It'll be illegal here for another 50 years and I'll still be able to find a house party full of 16-year olds who still managed to get it.

I'm actually for legalization, but Prop 19 was written in a horrible way. It made it so legalization and taxation was enforceable on the local level, not state. And how many counties do you know of that have the resources to actually do that? It needs to be written better the next time it's up on the ballot.

And yes, this is why you go out and vote, people. Believe it or not, those numbers are actually fairly close. If more young people that supported legalization went out and voted, it would have passed. And I agree that you have no right to complain if you don't vote.

The majority of people don't want this, can we move on now?

Besides, what are all the dealers to do if it became legal? Get a real job?!?! Blasphemy.

EDIT: The OP should really vote if you want to talk about politics. It doesn't make sense to choose not to vote, then pretend to care about the results.
