I recommended Portal to my mum (I often hear stories of parents loving it), but due to the "outrageous" stuff she watches me play and the things I've recommended in the past, she refuses to approach it.
Thats actually what got my mom to start somewhat gaming. (it was the 3rd burnout btw) Of course I doubt she'll ever play Halo, Mass Effect, or Uncharted, she enjoys watching me play them for the story if she is ever in the room. But now she plays the likes of Puzzle Quest, some xbla games, and the kinect. And of course racing games.Wondermint13 said:As suggested in the title.
Your Mom approaches you one day and tells you she's thinking of playing a computer/console game.
Whether she plays already or not. I'm only asking..
What would you recommend now and why?
EDIT: oops I forgot about my own mom, sorry mom.
I would totally reccomend something like a Burnout game. As she is a very 'passionate' driver and I feel it would help her let out some anger once in a while.
animal crossings is the perfect game to start someone out on.Wondermint13 said:As suggested in the title.

See, I tried that but it didn't work. The wonky physics and the complicated notion of shoulder buttons seemed to be too much for someone who had never used a controller before. Instead I turned on my SNES (that I keep hooked up to a 32" HD TV for the lulz) and popped in Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World. The simplified controller worked far better in the long run. Besides, if I learned how to game on a SNES then it should work just as well for her. Once your mom can beat a few classics (must resist low-brow joke), then give her something with 3D and analog sticks.Innocence said:She did, and I suggested LittleBigPlanet.
The controls are simple to grasp, and it's got something in it to entertain everyone.
