Society of Justice 3: Crisis on the Earth

Renton initially crawled over to his sleeping dad and tugged on his dad's pants. When he didn't get a response he started to crawl over to the couch before standing up and holding onto it; carefully using it to help him walking over to the perched Talbot. The bird had awoken when Garrus first entered and was now watching the toddler slowly walk his way towards him, ruffling up his feathers sleepily as Renton finally made it to the stand and tried to reach up to grab Talbot.

After a long yawn Leland stretched out as he tried to wake himself up, feeling a little groggy from falling asleep late. He had helped cleaned up at his brother's house once his nephew's party was over, coming back to the Promenade late and then participating in some extra-curricular activities before finally heading to bed.

He yawned once more before looking down at Katie and muttering a good morning, giving her a kiss on the forehead as he sat up. "Man I feel pretty sleepy still. Nothing a good breakfast won't fix. Want me to make you something too?" Leland asked her as he put on his blue and red track suit, not in the mood to pick out his usual gaudy clothes.

Jason raised an eyebrow at Brian as he began heating up his bacon, chuckling as he explained the situation.

"Oh yeah, speaking of which, don't be such a noob tuber in CoD. Levi and Taryn would not tolerate that shit." He warned as he took the bacon from the skillet, putting the strips on the cheese sandwich before putting it in the pan. Letting the food fry, Jason turned around for a second.

"So, you guys got anything planned for today? I'm sure you and Richard just won't go through another session of 'talking', today, would you Alex?" He asked the being in the kitchen that looked like the water-user, raising an eyebrow.

Rowan laughed Alex's laugh, figuring that Jason wouldn't know he was disguised as Alex. He tipped a quick wink to Brian before turning to face the Keyholder, and said, "Nah, I figure we've got to get out of the bedroom sometime. Besides, as much as I'd like to stay there all day, we can't exactly stay behind if the Society gets a distress call."

Katie made a noise that sounded like a muffled "Mmmf" as Leland got up, too sleepy to form coherent sentences. Eventually she mumbled something a little more audibly. "Ehh... can't we jus' stay here? Don' wanna get up." She rolled over and let out a massive yawn, her eyes half-open.

Tyson started showering. He had just finished his daily two hour workout focusing on his chest and arms today as part of his alternating strength and cardio workout schedule. I wonder if my and Alex will actually get to that fight at this point. She gets called off on business. I'm told to cover the sick bomb technicians for the local police when they asked for the techies and the new explosives expert instead. Now that they are back to normal I'm hoping Alex gets here so we can do this. Tyson finished his shower and got changed into a pair of shorts and a plain black t-shirt before heading to the kitchen.

Tyson walked into the kitchen and spotted Alex. "So Alex you aren't going to chicken away because of business now are you?" Tyson said in a humorous tone not looking for a responce as he grabbed some bacon from the fridge and set the oven to broil. Tyson started cooking around Jason putting some rye bread in the toaster before retrieved the orange juice, milk, eggs, and natural peanut butter from the fridge. Tyson started the stove and put the pan on while he poured himself a glass of milk and orange juice. Tyson started mixing the milk and eggs for scramble eggs after he put the bacon on a tray and in the oven. Tyson poured the mixture into the pan before turning around to see who was actually here

Tyson turned to see Brian, Lillian, Garrus, Renton, Alex, and Jason currently in the general area. Tyson realized he was missing something due to the lack of him paying attention in the group right there but he was to busy cooking to notice. "So what are all of you doing up so early? I rarely have anyone else up at this time with me." Tyson asked.

Leland chuckled at Katie's strained response as he moved his hand over and caressed her cheek. "You can stay here and get some more sleep while I go and make us some breakfast. Now I'll be back in a little bit, hopefully not too many people will be up so that I get free reign of the stove," he told her, kissing her cheek before standing up and opening up the portal and stepping through.

The first thing he noticed was that Ethan was sleeping in his bed, beeping slightly as Leland sat down on the bed.
"Well hello there little brother. What are you doing here?" he asked, letting Ethan stretch before he got a few beeps in reply, "So it was cold and...wait where do you normally sleep then?"
"Beep boop beeeep."
"What? The parking garage?! Why would you do that?"
"Bop beep."
"Aw you were never given a room and you were scared to claim one. That's alright, no it's really okay. You can stay here and sleep a little bit longer then, and once you're up we'll find you a nice room," Leland replied, bringing up the comforter and tucking the sleepy Ethan in. Ethan made a slight beep before a few 'Z's showed up on his visor. Leland yawned and left his room, entering the lounge and sighing when he saw that a number of people were already up.

"Hello there everyone," Leland called out, giving Talbot a quick pet on the head and picking up Renton so that he could pet the bird.

Steven fell out of bed with his blankets, knocking his head against the side table. "Fucking nightmares," he muttered to himself, illuminating the room around him. Examining himself in the mirror, he found himself waring what could only be described as rags. With a wave of his hands, the rags shimmered and morphed into his usual grey suit. He turned to exit his room and found her sitting there, just like she had been last night.
You always did like your suits
"You're not real. Go away already."
We both know you want me here
"I don't want anyone! I want you all to leave me alone!" He brought his sword to his side. "Die already!" He took an almighty swing, destroying the chair she was sitting in.
Just admit that you want me around, and I'll leave.
"I don't! I want you to go away!" He took another swing, this time making a hole in the floor.
You miss me
"I hate you!" One last smash, shattering his mirror, and she vanished. Panting, Steven vanished his armor, and slowly walked out of the room.

"This is like, our regular wake-up times. I actually woke up a little later than usual." Jason addressed Tyson as he waved to Leland with the spatula. Finished with his cooking, Jason placed the sandwich on a plate before placing the skillet and frying pan into the sink, letting water run over them for a moment to get a majority of the grease off. After sitting to the table with his food and a cup of coffee, Jason began to eat. Looking up from his meal, he realized that Alex was missing something upon closer speculation.

"Alex, you're not wearing your wedding ring now? So, you and Richard are divorced already? That was fast." He pointed out to "her", mouth half full.

Rowan immediately hid his left hand under the table, figuring Jason would either dismiss the lack of ring as a trick of the light, or pursue it further. As with Lillian earlier, anything he said could give the game away. With that in mind, he focused his attention on his food rather than answering Jason.

"Eh, a'right. Love you," Katie mumbled as Leland left. Sleep quickly overpowering her, she rolled over onto her side and closed her eyes once more. Another yawn passed her lips before she went back to sleep.

Brian caught the nod and figured he aught to give Rowan a bit more to work with. Besides, if Jason was going to deride his skills with the grenade launcher, he wasn't going to get out of this one easily.

"Oh man, see that's actually what we were talking about before, eh? Alex actually lost her ring! Can you believe that? I mean, that's a total me move! But yeah, no, she doesn't know if it came off in the pool or it just rolled somewhere on her. That's why I said it would be an awkward funny, Richard comes in, she can't find the ring, laughs ensue for everyone but them. Totally sitcom stuff, eh?"

Levi was woken by a bright ray of sunlight that shined directly on his eyes. Reflexively turning to the side, he opened his eyes and waited for the colored dots in his vision to clear. Blasted sun. The blinds do nothing...

Slowly, he rolled out of bed and looked down at the messed-up covers. Meh. I'll fix them later. Making his way to the restroom, Levi took a quick warm shower and shaved. Looking at his clean-shaven face in the mirror, he was glad he let Taryn convince him to get rid of the mustache he had sported during his first year in the Society.

Stepping out of the restroom, Levi dressed in his 'hero' outfit, like normal. It was comfortable enough, and he preferred to stay 'in uniform', just in case something sudden were to happen. Donning his outfit was a carefully rehearsed routine, and in no time at all Levi was wearing his shirt, trademark vest, dark pants and knee-high boots.

He left his room, locking the door as he walked out. Making his way into the lounge, Levi saw that at least a few people were already there. "Leland?" he said, catching sight of the familiar head of long blonde hair. "Hey, I didn't know you were still here!"

"Yep, gonna be here for another month or so before I have to start promotional work and such. Speaking of which," Leland stalled as he materialized a cd and handed it to Levi, "And voila: the new album. Obviously no artwork and such due to it not having anything official yet, but I wrote out the song titles on the back. Congratulations, you now have the new album before everyone else."

Jason gave a look of unsureness as 'Alex' hid her hand under the table. With Brian backing her up on her 'lost ring', Jason nodded a bit.

"I guess that makes sense. Doesn't really explain why she hid her hand though...Is something wrong Alex? You seem to be a little tense all of a sudden..." He addressed Brian before asking 'Alex' with intrigue, suspicion levels rising again.

"Just misplaced the ring is all, and my necklace to boot. I'm a bit worried about them," Rowan answered, continuing the Alex act. Jason was certainly slower than Lillian, but then that was to be expected judging from what the latter had said earlier. Though perhaps Jason was on a similar level of friendship with Alex; he had no way of knowing.

"To be honest, I don't know what happened. I know it's weird, but... ah, you get what I'm saying," he added.

Levi held the CD and looked at it for a moment in disbelief. "Uh...wow, Leland...thanks!" he managed to say excitedly. Being a big fan of Leland's music, this was a great honor. "Hey, you think you could sign it? I mean, if it isn't a problem or anything..." he asked as he looked over the song titles. Vandal the House, The Construct, Newform, Innocence Discord. Interesting song titles to say the least. Levi made a mental note to take the time to listen to the album at the first chance he got.

"That's right." Tyson said to Jason. "I've had to wake up earlier to head out to cover for the bomb techies so I wouldn't know who would be here at my normal time."

Tyson smiled. I wonder how long before Rowan caves? Additionally note to self, never have Brian lie for me. Tyson moved the eggs around as the toaster popped and he put the toast on a plate before spreading peanut butter on. "Also, you didn't respond to my comment. Did Little Miss Princess Snake Alley loose her mouth when her husband isn't around?" Tyson asked trying to put the pressure on Rowan. I'm looking for some entertainment with breakfast. I hope he can provide it.

"Sure just give me a second," Leland replied as he put Renton back down and conjured a permanent marker in the air to write down his signature. "And there you go Levi. Once the actual cd comes out and stuff I can give you that, along with first choice for the merchandise if you'd like," he added as he handed the cd back to Levi before making his way to the kitchen to make breakfast.

Talbot flew off his perch and through the opening of the bar and into the kitchen, sitting on on top of one of the chairs as he awaited his own breakfast.
"Alright just hold on. Here's your steak," Leland muttered as he took an thawed steak off the kitchen counter and tossed it to Talbot, who immediately went to work tearing through it. Leland got out all he'd need to make a frittata: eggs, some cheeses, and some veggies. He started to make it in one of the frying pans, ignoring most of the conversation going on in the kitchen.

As Tyson put the hurt down on 'Alex', Jason's suspicion levels rose even higher.

"Just realized something...If you lost your ring, then why haven't you started looking for it? Why are you sitting here now, talking to us? Alex is a ambitious broad, I doubt she would let something like a precious memento like her wedding ring stay lost for long. Not to mention that you (and Richard) are totally wealthy. If it was that bad of a problem, then you easily just buy another, better ring. Also, if you lost it the water, then why don't you just go and get it? Did you forget that you could control water? Or maybe you can't...I'm pretty sure shapeshifters don't acquire the powers of those that they're posing as..." Jason said to her, casually finishing his coffee, the evidence piling up.

Rowan was about to answer Tyson, figuring Alex wouldn't like the insult he had used, but then Jason chipped in once more. He'd caught on. At the last comment about shapeshifters, Rowan facepalmed briefly before he said, "Alright, ya got me. I woke up looking like Alex this morning. And yes, you're correct in that I can't use any powers of the people I shift into." He paused before adding, "What are the odds that Alex is gonna either hit me or crack up laughing when she sees me like this?"

"I figure she's going to use you as a warm up beating before I fight her." Tyson replied completely serious. Tyson removed the bacon from the oven shutting it off before scooping his eggs onto his plate and shutting off his element on the stove. Tyson them put his plate and glasses at the table before turning back to soak the dishes in water. As Tyson walked back to his plate he noticed a large crate in the room next to the kitchen. "Hey Garrus." Tyson called out. "Is the stuff I requested in that box?" Tyson started eating before he could hear a response.

"Yeah, I dunno, buddy. I'm gonna put my money on hitting you. She doesn't seem like the type to let imitation go unpunished, eh?" Brian said, offering his two cents on things.

He saw Tyson looking at something. "Oh hey, man, your stuff come in yet? You think you can get that net up? That would be awesome, then I could actually sleep in my room and try to get my Xbox set up in there!"
