Society of Justice 3: Crisis on the Earth

"I dunno you two...Alex isn't completely serious about things. She'd might chuckle initially, but then get a bit festered if you start copying her completely, like, word-for-word. It really just depends on how she'll be feeling. She and Richard have been holed up in their room for the past few days, so I'm sure she'll be a bit chipper, but i'm not her, so I won't say for sure." Jason said to Rowan, feeling a little accomplished since he broke through his clever guise.

"What's the phrase, Brian?" Rowan asked rhetorically. "I believe it is, 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.' Having said that, Alex will immediately notice the differences between me copying her and the original. No necklace, no wedding ring, my mannerisms are different, I probably have different speech patterns..." He counted them off on a hand as he listed them.

"Personally I'm hoping for the less violent result. Besides, I want to talk to Alex about stuff..." Rowan added, remembering one of his reasons for joining up.

Garrus was still asleep and didn't hear Tyson calling out his name. Leland looked at his brother and then looked at Talbot, the bird understanding what needed to be done. He squawked and flew over to sit on Garrus' head, the steak still in his claws. It only took a few seconds before Garrus awoke and shooed the bird off him, picking up his son as he got his bearings.

"Oh hi guys...didn't even know you guys were here, damn guess I was just that tired. Oh Tyson, that crate over there is some of your stuff," Garrus muttered, rocking himself and Renton back and forth. He was starting to fall asleep again until he heard a beep and looked over as Ethan walked into the lounge, still wearing his dark blue with stars footie pajamas. Garrus muttered a hello as his youngest brother walked by and sat down at the kitchen table, giving everyone a wave hello.

Levi carefully put the CD into his vest pocket. "Thanks, Leland!" he said happily, grinning wide. With that, he headed into the kitchen and made a move to open the fridge when he saw what looked like Alex talking to Brian and Jason. Tuning into the conversation, however, it was apparent that it was in fact Rowan in disguise. Grabbing a soda from the fridge, Levi approached the group. Looking at Alex-form Rowan, he nodded. "Impressive. If I hadn't heard the tail end of that conversation, I would've guessed that you were Alex," he said to Rowan. Levi turned to Jason and Brian. "How long did she keep you guys fooled?" he asked in jest.

"Oh, you know, not that long man," Brian said. It was a half-truth. Lillian was the one who saw through him that quickly. He just happened to be there. "I was trying to help him set up Jason, but it didn't take him much longer than it took me."

Taryn awoke to the near silent hum of computers. She yawned and kept her eyes closed as she stretched her arms out wide. After her stretch she peered at her clock. The digital readout blinked to show that it was two minutes before the set alarm.

'Typical.' Taryn thought with an amused smile. After shutting off the alarm she slid out of bed. Taryn strode toward the far side of her room. Each step helped her wake up a bit more. 

Taryn wiggled the mouse on her desk to activate a few of the monitors on the wall. All of the machines appeared to be working fine. All of the power levels were green. 'Good..good. Next...' Taryn quickly retrieved clothes out of her closet and headed for the shower.

Fifteen minutes later Taryn had a brush in one hand and a shoelace in the other. Quick and practiced strokes ensured her hair fell into place. When she finished lacing her second boot Taryn dropped the brush onto her bed to tie her shoelace.

"Wonder if anyone's fixed breakfast today." she murmured to herself. Grabbing her jacket and phone Taryn walked to her door. She checked her clothes in the full length mirror before she stepped out into the hallway. Taryn secured her door and began walking toward the lounge.

Jason nodded as Brian explained what happened between Rowan and the others that woke up early.

"Yeah, what he said. Also Levi, We've been playing CoD in my room lately (well, Brian's been playing more since it's his game, but that's besides the point). Tell Brian about what you and Taryn do to noob tubers." He said to the magnetic with a smirk, getting up from the table to put his dishes in the sink.

"Dude man, I'm not just a tuber. I'm pretty good with the assault rifle, eh? The noob tube just happens to be another facet of my arsenal that I can deploy, you know?" Brian said, trying to defend himself. "Besides, I'm just tubing the tubers, the ones who need a good tubing, you know? Anyway, guys, I think I got up too early today guys, so I'm going to go try and pass out for a couple more hours. Wake me up if the world's in peril there, eh?"

With that he grabbed his other pop tart and slowly made his way back to his room to try and get some more shut eye.

Levi nodded and snickered evilly. "Oh, yes. Taryn and I know how put the 'tubers in their place," he said, adopting a mock evil tone. "You know, I haven't touched Black Ops in a while. If you guys are gonna play any time soon, I can see if Taryn wants to join us..." he added, his words trailing off as he heard the doors open behind him. Turning to see who it was, Levi watched as Taryn entered the lounge. "...speak of the devil," he said as he stepped away from Jason to meet her halfway. "Good morning, you," he said quietly as he embraced her.

Alex cuddled to him and kissed him softly. "Well we've been in here for days taking full advantage of being married by having wild sex why don't we get up and greet the others?" Alex said getting off of him and ran a hand through her hair then looked back at him.

Eric got up and pulled on a pair of boxer shorts then headed out of his room and walked to the kitchen. "Morning guys. Why hello Alex. You still look amazing I see." Eric said sitting next to her.

Tyson finished eating and said, "Thank you for taking care of that Order Garrus." "I'll set up net as soon as I finish my dishes." Tyson replied to Brian. Tyson got up as Eric walked into the room and started talking to Rowan. Tyson snickered as he started washing his dirty dishes.

"May as well." Richard said slightly more awake now as both Alex and himself got up.

"Yea, got the basics down, but the specifics of your disguise need a bit of work." Lillian replied as she took another swig of coffee.

"Oh, hey, Eric," Rowan answered. Rather than toy with the alchemist in the same way he had tried to pull the wool over the eyes of Jason and Lillian, he simply said, "Surprise," and shifted into an exact duplicate of Eric, accompanied by the regular noises that sounded like cracking or shifting bone.

A distracted part of his mind wondered - certainly not for the first time - why those sounds were created when he changed form. There was certainly no pain involved, but natural painkillers didn't counteract the grinding bones.

Eric blinked watching him shift. "Wait you're not Alex? Dammit." he said sighing and looking at Rowen "Well you looked just like her, I'll give you that and damn you look just like me." Eric said examining him.

Alex quickly got dressed and brushed out her hair. "Hmmm maybe I should make my hair shorter. I've kinda wanted to for ages anyway." Alex said playing with the orb Eric gave her.

Ethan was silent as he watched Levi and Taryn embrace each other, looking over next to him for a distraction. He saw Talbot ripping apart the steak he had, getting somewhat grossed out by the bird who was now staring at him as it ate. He then looked to his brother Leland who was humming as he was making the frittata, watching as he placed the frying pan into the oven to finish.

He turned to see Rowan transform from the woman known as Alex into the man he knew as Eric. Turning away from them he laid his head against the table, deciding to try and distract himself.

"Hey...'morning." Taryn replied to Levi, smiling as she was hugged. She wrapped her arm around Levi and made a soft contented sound before letting him go. Looking past Levi, Taryn noticed then that a lot of the other Society members were in the kitchen.

"Oh wow, guess I'm one of the last ones up." Taryn raised her arm and pushed her folded jacket aside to look at her watch. She leaned toward the crowded kitchen and took a step in its direction. "Have you eaten?" she asked Levi quietly.

"There were a few details that I was missing to completely imitate Alex. Specifically, her jewellery and the fact that I had used a memory of her outfit from a couple of days ago," Rowan answered, unfazed by the fact that Eric was examining him closely. "Out of curiosity, is it weird for you, talking to a copy of yourself?"

"You'll look beautiful with your hair short or long." Richard said before quickly kissing her and dressing.

"I know it would be weird for me in any case." Lillian said.

"No, not yet. I was just telling Jason what we do to noob tubers in Call of Duty. I think we should show them some time," Levi said as he followed Taryn to the kitchen. Opening the soda can he took out of the fridge earlier, he took a long sip. Taking his watch out of his vest pocket, he opened it and checked the time. About 10:30. He could've sworn it was later.

"Oh yes her jewelery and acting like Alex isn't easy ether." Eric said sitting back done looking Rowen over. "As for you looking like me I don't really care. It's awesome." he said.

Alex smiled and kissed Richard back. "Awww thanks Richard. Hmmm well I think when I have the time I'll change up my hair." Alex said waiting for Richard to dress.
