"Thanks, Jase. But it was me or Alex," Katie said quietly, sitting up with her good arm as support. "That electric knife would have killed her, and I didn't think I would be that good in the fight. Or, well, it would have sent her into a coma outside of the Mindscape. And I've taken lightning bolts for her before, back when she had that animosity with Kin." She winced when she tried to move her left arm, even if it was just moving it up to rest on her stomach.

Victor was sent hurtling face-first to the floor by Garrus's well-placed shockwave. He felt his nose break as he hit the floor, hard. Blood streamed down his face from his busted nose and mixed with the water summoned by Alex. Scrambling to his feet, he was grazed on the left arm and right leg by the spikes summoned by Erebus. Growling as the pain began to mount, Victor met Erebus head on and swept his legs from under him, giving him enough time to throw the excess electricity from Taryn's attack at Brian. His constant taunting was beginning to grate on Victor's nerves. Although a small fraction of the technopath's powerful assault, it was more than enough to inflict great pain.

Physical pain, Brian was expecting. Electricity, this was not on his radar. The bolt hit him hard, he screamed out in anguish as he went down onto one knee, eyes shut against the pain. The shocks were coursing through his body until they seemed to concentrate on his temples. He put his hands up trying to figure out what exactly was happening. When the pain started to subside and he brought his hands down, he finally figured it out when he looked at them. He had always pictured a sort of light blue, calm energy when he was healing people, but now, his hands were surrounded by this deep purple aura. Oh my god. The implant things. This must be them. Holy shit. I can actually do something on offense. He looked up at Victor, his eyes showing nothing but white, the same white of the Northern Alberta plains in the winter.

"YOU JUST FUCKED UP NOW VICTOR!" he stated for the British adversary, his voice sounding somewhat altered as the implants were more in control at this point. "TIME FOR YOU TO DIE!" He thought he could see Victor make a move, but he sent a wave of the dark aura towards Victor, intent on messing up his nervous system and lowering his defenses. The bolt traveled in an instant, reaving the villain, and weakening him. "ANYONE WANT TO ATTACK THIS FUCKER, NOW IS THE TIME!"

The electric gloves surged more power through McPhearson then he was expecting. His armor thickened and turned a sickening shade of black. Light began to swirl around him. "Well...This is new" was the first thing he could think of saying. He saw Alex fall to the floor and instantly a black shield was over her. "This ends today, Victor! I am Helios the Demon Slayer! AND YOU WILL DIE!" His words were coming out in a deep baritone. Clasping his hands together, the light around him swirled and formed two solid forms of himself, one with a shield and bastard sword, the other carrying a double bladed Axe. All three of them rushed Victor, with the bastard sword sweeping for his legs, the Axe swinging for his head, and real Steven's halberd going for his heart.

Ethan held his gun steadier than any human could possibly do, the cybernetics helping to keep his body as completely still as possible. He figured that everyone had forgotten about him, and he was thankful that Victor had certainly forgotten about the man who had been firing on him like mad and making himself extremely known with the beeping. But that didn't matter to Ethan as of now, he was simply focused on making a good shot. He knew to wait for the right moment, that one moment where you get a tingly sensation in the back of your head. The moment where you feel all that energy built up inside and you know then that it is the right moment, that waiting any longer would be a waste.

His finger moved onto the trigger as he watched Victor fall to the ground after his brother's shock wave attack, tightening slightly when Erebus had attacked. He waited for it though, not feeling that it was the right moment until after Steven had already attacked.

Then he pulled the trigger of his luger, hitting Victor right in the crotch.

Victor saw the purple aura around Brian's hands out of the corner of his eye before he felt the effect of his attack. Instantly, he was immobilized and felt his very strength being sapped. His body wouldn't respond to his commands, which was perfectly timed with the three Stevens running at him. Although he couldn't manipulate his hands, Victor still could summon an electrical charge to both his hands with some effort. He mounted as powerful a charge as his "body" could handle, his hands shooting off chaotic blue arcs of electricity.

When Ethan's well-aimed shot hit its mark, Victor howled in rage and unleashed his stored-up charge. The electromagnetic pulse radiated out towards the charging Stevens and disrupted his two copies long enough for their attacks to completely phase through him. The real Steven, however, pierced his heart and straight out through his back. The self-appointed demon slayer viciously yanked his weapon out of Victor's chest. Blood dripping from his mouth, he dropped to his knees.

Bloodied, beaten, and severely burned, it looked like Victor had finally met his match. No, he thought as he fought the coming blackness. I will not let this stand.. The idea of being defeated by such a pathetic ragtag group of "heroes" caused his very blood to boil.

Rage.

All Victor could feel was rage. Pure, unfiltered, primal rage. He had come too far to fall like this. He wouldn't let this happen. He wouldn't let them win. Clenching his fists, the charred skin screamed in protest. Victor was not done yet. Not by far. Despite the intense pain, he called yet another intense charge to his hands. The pain was good. It meant he was alive. Victor coughed up a mouthful of blood and looked up at Steven with a bloody, distorted grin. "You lose," he said simply.

Suddenly, the area around him warped with the intensity of the magnetic blast he unleashed. All who were near Victor were suddenly and violently flung into the air in every direction. Letting out a primal roar, he immediately charged for Brian and threw a punch at him with all his superhuman might. "YOU WILL NOT BEAT ME!" he shouted.

Brian was feeling it now. Athletes would call it being "in the zone". He saw Victor coming towards him, a figurative shadow of the cocky pompous ass that had gotten him to this state. Instinctively, he cast a Barrier, stopping Victor's punch and allowing him to say a few words. "GUESS WHAT, *****? I'M NOT BEATING YOU, WE ALL ARE! SO HIT ME, I CAN TAKE IT, I'LL GET BACK UP, BUT WATCH AS YOUR BODY AND YOUR MISERABLE EXCUSE OF A LIFE CRUMBLE, YOU SACK OF SHIT!"

After that point, the barrier's time had elapsed and Victor's punch connected squarely with Brian's jaw sending him flying back towards the wall. Teeth were sent flying as the Canuck slammed into the remains over the overturned couch, blood flying out of his mouth. He collapsed onto the ground, he was struggling to get up, but he was smiling through that newly gap-toothed mouth. His job should have been done, allowing the others time to get up and get him down. He fell back down onto the ground, the combined stress of the electricity coursing through him and the super punch leaving him unable to continue for the moment.

Brian's plan had worked; the other Society members were getting to their feet. Rowan was the fastest to get up despite a killer headache from banging his head on the wall, immediately whirling to face Victor from behind.

"You're as good as dead, you son-of-a-*****," he snarled, putting all of his willpower into a barrage of bolts, each one aimed at Victor's open wounds to agonise him further and debilitate him. Due to his headache, the majority of his shots were inaccurate, only causing damage to himself. One bolt lanced into the gaping wound in Victor's chest; the second hit the back of his leg, forcing him to drop to one knee for a few seconds. Rowan slumped to the floor, clutching his head in the familiar dose of pain associated with overuse of his power, and the rest of his attacks missed Victor completely.

Victor recoiled as Rowan's psychic blasts hit their mark. One bolt shot straight through the hole left by Steven's halberd, and the other sent him off balance and on one knee. Growling, he bolted for the slumping Rowan and grabbed him by the arm. Victor hurled the unfortunate man into the injured Brian and charged headlong into the other Society members. Sparks radiated from his horribly burnt and scarred hands as he pushed his horrendously beaten body even further.

Tyson watched on as the others fought Victor. He wanted to join them in fighting them. He wanted to join in defending them. He couldn?t do either. He couldn't draw attention to himself. He had a plan and he was going to have to stay off Victor's radar if he wanted to pull it off.

As the fight intensified the urge to join in grew more. Victor seemed like he was going down but Tyson knew he had to wait. Someone had to stay back as a backup plan and without saying anything Tyson chose himself. You can't risk being hurt. You can't risk wasting your only use of it because you'll be removed. Tyson thought over and over again. Then a large force knocked Tyson down and sent most of the others flying. Victor was hurt but wasn't giving up on this fight and most of the others were down.

Tyson got up and watch Rowan continue attacking Victor before stopping in pain. He watched as Victor tossed Rowan in the Canadian and started to head for everyone else. No choice. I have to do it now. Tyson ran at Victor meeting him head on and grabbed Victor, lifting him into the air by his arms. Tyson ignored the pain from electricity Victor was feeding into him and instead dug his finger nails into Victor's skin and turned to face away from the rest of the team. Tyson opened his mouth and committed his personal sin. Tyson started his powers past the point of no control.

Everything went black for Tyson, at least inside his head. This was different than before for Tyson. He could normally see everything that was going on when he did this, but the only thing he could see was darkness. He couldn't hear anything, but that was normal. Tyson could however still feel. The pain of Victor's electricity was still alive and well but something else was being felt as well. This caused two questions to loom over Tyson's mind. Why can I still feel my body? Why does it feel like its radically changing?

As soon as Tyson triggered his power his body started to radically change. The back of his ears grew out and turned his ears round as the tops of his ears grew taller and tapered into a point. His jaw narrowed and grew out longer while his nose's bridge extended upwards till it was level forward extending to the same length as his jaw and the nose's width increased to the narrowest part of his jaw. A jet black colour extended from his pupil and completely eliminated the iris and cornea from sight. His fingers turned into claws and completely pierced Victor's arms. The most drastic change was a large set of bat wings that grew out of Tyson's back spanning twice the length of his arm span.

While the changes to his body were happening, the sound waves produced by Tyson's body were growing. First they started at around the sound of a motorcycle engine with frequency constantly jumping between sounds that the human ear could hear and ones that were too high for humans to hear. In two seconds the sound level was equivalent to being next to a speaker at a heavy metal concert without hearing protection and the frequency's focused into a person's normal hearing range. Three seconds after that the sound waves hit the highest possible decibel level and stopped focusing within the 2-4000Hz range. (Causes the most hearing damage in that range.)

While all of this was happening Victor's electricity was starting to cause arcs to jump between Tyson's limbs. Whatever had become of Tyson's body was ignorant to pain. Tyson himself however, could feel ever bit of it. A second seemed like a year and his mind was ripping itself apart. The pain intensified and there was nothing he could. Floating alone in the darkness he was trapped in Tyson stated to yell out, "Leland! You promised that you would get me out of here! Why am I still here!? Why am I still here!?" Near the end of the outcry Tyson's soul started to weep.

Victor's magnetic blast launched Steven into the air, and through the walls steel support beams. His armor protected him from the steel slicing him open, but the impact shattered his spine. He lay there, coughing up disturbing amounts of blood. He heard Tyson fall back in the battle, but couldn't see anything. It's all over, he thought. I guess that's the last of them. We'll be finished off soon. I never thought I'd meet my end this quickly. Any second, the demon will finish me, and my armor won't hold forever Sparks of electricity were shooting up and down his body; leftover energy from Tommy's electric gloves.

"You're not seriously going to give up that easily, are you?"

She looked the same as ever. Same dress, same sad expression. But something was different about her. She looked-for lack of a better word-real. For the first time in a very long time, he was glad she was here. It made sense that she was here, right before his end. "My spine is broken. I can't exactly swing a sword like this, much less fight."

She smiled and looked down at him, her voice taking on an eager tone. " You always gave up so easily. We both know you're stronger than this. I will not let you lay here and die when you can still win this! Now just think! Think about it, dammit! How do you conjure your weapons and armor?"

He coughed up another mouth-full of blood before his answer. "Umm...with my mind?"

"Right!! How did you stop the lasers on MechaSnake?"

"With my mind...," he said, inspiration striking him.

She leaned in close, pressing herself onto him, her face an inch from his. "So then how do you still fight?" She was screaming at this point.

"With my mind!"

Slowly, painfully, his shining chest plate rose into the air, carrying his broken body inside of it. His arms and legs were limp, but he didn't need them anymore. Blood was spilling out of his armor from Victor's last attack, but he didn't care anymore. "Hey Victor!" he stopped for a moment to cough again, more blood spilling out of his helmet. "I haven't lost yet. I've still got one up my sleeve." The light shimmered and swirled around him, and a murder of crows appeared, each one with beaks like elongated daggers. "Dodge this," he said, laughing. And without a movement, the crows attacked.

"Hey man I was just waiting for you to tell me when," Leland explained loudly to Tyson as he clenched his hands and closed his eyes for a split-second to focus, sending Tyson out of Levi's mindscape after a moment. After that he ducked behind the debris Ethan was behind, the cyborg going on about what a good shot it was. "Yeah, it was great and all...hurt to watch it though," Leland replied rubbing his aching head, peeking out from behind the cover to see Garrus setting up another attack.

Garrus had been thrown a few feet from Victor's EMP, getting himself back up and moving to another point. He carefully aimed again before sending a shock wave to the small of Victor's back, ducking out of the way afterwards in case Victor decided to try and go after him.

Rowan cried out as Victor picked him up; electricity snaked down from his enemy's hand into his body, causing even more trauma than he had given himself from overuse of his powers. Upon crashing into Brian yet again, he let out another howl of pain from the impact, fighting to remain conscious.

"Come on, come on, Silhouette..." he mentally ordered himself through the fog of pain clouding his mind, trying to get up as he did so. For some reason, his body refused to obey, as if to say, Why bother getting up? You're tired. Lie down. Take a nap. That seemed like a good idea. He'd feel better after a good long rest.

With that, Rowan gave up and slipped into unconsciousness, sprawled on the floor near Brian.

Suddenly being lifted in the air, Victor struggled against his captor when he was hit by a painfully loud sonic wave. The aural assault on his ears continued to intensify, completely destroying his equilibrium. Eventually, Victor's hearing gave out and the only thing he could feel was pain. Claws dug into his charred skin as he felt as if his head would explode. Suddenly, his attacker vanished, leaving Victor to fall to the ground, deaf and bleeding.

Next, he was launched into the air by Garrus's shockwave, right into the murder of vicious crows Steven manifested. The birds instantly set upon him, ripping and tearing at his battered body. Howling again, this time in equal parts pain and rage, Victor launched a last-minute, desperate blast, eliminating the crows, but causing the skin of his hands to start smoking.

He landed once more, his anger the only thing fueling his grotesquely injured body. Victor rose unsteadily to his feet, his breath coming in deep, guttural growls. Looking the extent of his injuries, he should not have been alive. The entire right side of his outfit was completely burned off, revealing his gaping chest wound and skin covered in third-degree burns. The skin of his hands were blackened, smoking, and sparking.

With a slow, menacing gait, Victor advanced on the Society team again, his entire body beginning to shoot off wild arcs of electricity. "If I'm going down, then YOU'RE DOING DOWN WITH ME!" he bellowed as he called more and more energy into his body. The very room began to feel electrically charged as Victor drew massive amounts of power.

Suddenly, another figure entered the fray and immediately dove into Victor, slamming his fist into Victor's face. The blow broke his focus and caused his slippery hold over the large amount of electricity to fail. The energy erupted from his hands and harmlessly dissipated. The attacker got up to his feet first. It was Levi, whose gaze was focused on the now rising Victor.

Victor met Levi's gaze with a twisted smirk. "Bartholomew. You've decided to show up," he said to Levi with a hint of annoyance.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world, Victor," was Levi's curt reply before he set himself upon the wounded Victor with a series of savage blows to his face. Victor was incapable of offering much resistance, throwing up weak counters and blocks that Levi easily broke though. Unable to keep up with the speed of Levi's attack, Victor began to laugh as each individual blow landed on him. Eventually, Levi had Victor against the wall, where he slammed his fist into his face without mercy.

After his barrage, Levi slammed Victor's head against the wall and held him against the wall by his neck. Completely beaten, Victor spat blood at Levi's boots and stared up at him defiantly. "You think you've won, you fool. You haven't seen the last of me, Bartholomew. This I promise you. YOU WON'T WIN!" he screamed.

"I just want my mind back," Levi replied flatly.

He slammed Victor against the wall again, which shattered like glass and exploded outwards. Beyond the destroyed wall was nothingness, an endless black void. With a final, vicious blow, Levi broke Victor's neck and sent him tumbling backwards into the dark abyss. He watched Victor fall until his distant form was swallowed by the darkness. After a long silence, Levi turned around and faced the group, his expression now somber.

"It's over," he said with a relieved sigh.

"And scene," Leland muttered as he watched the end of Victor by Levi's hands, slowly standing up once he was sure that everything was over. With that he left Ethan to bask in the self-glory of his shot and his future crying when Taryn and Levi have their moment, and headed over to where Katie was. "Hey there. I'll tell you one good thing, the pain of injuries don't carry over so you'll be fine once I get us out of here. Other than the headache you should feel fine," he told her, sitting down and giving her a quick kiss on the head.

Taryn sat up slowly, shaking her head. Victor's blast had sent her into one of the remaining Promenade walls. With her head pounding still Taryn shakily stood up. She look at the battlefield. Now things were a bit...blurry. And there were two Victors. 'No...wait.' Taryn squinted at the new figure. New-Victor slammed Old-Victor against the wall.

"I just want my mind back." the new figure stated.

'Levi!' And this wasn't a spectral ghost either. This Levi was...was...violent. Taryn shoved off the ground and scrambled quickly to her feet. She stumbled forward a few steps then stopped to watch as Levi slammed Victor against the wall and began punching him. There was a final sharp blow and-

*snap*

Taryn flinched reflexively and glanced away from the scene. For an instant it wasn't Victor being held immobile, it was her own image. The sound of snapping bone once again echoed in Taryn's head. She began to walk forward...slowly. She forced herself to see what was happening now instead of what had happened earlier. But the similarity was unnerving.

The technopath watched in silence as Victor's body was thrown into a dark void of some kind. 'Good riddance.' she thought. When she was close to Levi, Taryn paused. She smiled somewhat uncertainly and rocked back on her heels. She looked at the broken wall. The abyss that had swallowed Victor was still there.

"He's gone?" she queried softly.

Katie sat up properly and shuffled over to Leland, giving him a quick kiss in return before resting her head on his shoulder. She made sure not to lean on her wounded arm, of course; even though Brian had repaired the injury, it ached a fair bit. "Is that it? We beat Victor? Um... how did you guys beat him?"

Eric walked over to Richard. "You might want to check on your wife. She you know is dying." Eric said walking over to Alex. He rolled her over on her back and saw the gashed on her body. Deep wounds were bleeding water like a river and her body looked beaten far past any human should have to go through. Her noise was broken and her arms bent in a way it wouldn't be naturally.

Her face had an expression of pain but no fear, she knew she could very well die fighting Victor but dying would be a price worth paying if it gave the team time. She was whimpering in her knocked out state.

"We did, though Levi got the final hit in. Hopefully this means Victor is gone for good. And that we can head back soon, and never have to think about him again. Unless he comes back in some odd way but I doubt that'll happen; this seems pretty clear cut. He seems pretty dead," Leland replied back to her, leaning his head against hers.

"The important thing is that we're done here, and that everyone should be fine once we're out," he added, just waiting for everyone to be ready to head back to the real world.
