Society of Justice 3: Crisis on the Earth

"Alex? Infertile?" Jason whispered to himself before joining Katie, pinning an ear to the wall to listen in on the situation.

"I think that's for the best. Has she ever considered the risks that she'll have to take, bringing a baby into this world? Not to mention; being a superhero/owner of a very large corporation doesn't leave much time to spend time with a child, along with all the added paranoia and stress that'll come from this happening. So if anything, it'd just make life for her, Richard, and the baby itself even harder. Secondly, if it's that's much of a problem, why doesn't she just adopt or something? Shit can't be that hard. Thirdly, she wanted a family at 18? The hell? Why so young? Did she not have anything planned for her future? Did she think that she would be able to balance family life and such straight out of high school?" Erebus replied to the situation, pacing back and forth in the mindscape.

"You're sounding kind of harsh, Ero."

"No, i'm sounding logical. Besides, I'm just saying out loud, what you won't say to her face." The armor replied, Jason's eyes lowering in realization before turning back to the eavesdropping.

Alex sighed. "I guess but I never tried to change who I was before. I've never seen him like that Tommy and I never want to again. As for being good parents I'm not so sure in my case. If I keep pulling things like this it might be good that I'm infer..." Alex couldn't finish the word. It felt like poison on her lips and hurt to even say.

"I mean with me being a hero and a CEO, well know as well, it might not be good but if I do I might have to leave to Society. I don't want my children to grow up without mother or a father like I had to." Alex said.

Levi slowly opened his eyes to see Taryn looking up at him, a smile brightening her face. Her smile was infectious, and he couldn't help but smile in return. Eventually he became aware of the subtle tugging by Taryn's weight leaning away from him, which was pulling him ever so slightly towards his bed. Levi's smile slowly transitioned into a sly grin as an idea manifested itself in his mind. Bracing Taryn with his arms, he carefully lowered her down onto his bed and took his place by her side.

Sliding his arms around Taryn's waist once more, Levi pulled her in and pressed his lips to hers in a brief, but gentle, kiss. Pulling away, but barely, his grin returned. "Much better, don't you think?" he asked, his tone soft and quiet.

"Richard no matter how angry he seemed, it was all because Richard was afraid, because he cared about you." Tommy guessed, " As for being a parent, you don't need to sweat it, remember your dad was a bad parent because he was a bastard, not because he didn't have enough time, and whatever you choose in the future, you'll do a great job."

Alex just sat there letting everything set in. "I don't know how much time I'll have. People know who I am so it's not like I have an identity I can hide behind but that's a worry for heroes that can get pregnant so I have nothing to worry about really." Alex said pulling her legs to her chest.

"If I could I'd take back everything that happened today. Hell I'd take allot back if I could really." Alex looked down at her feet.

Eric finished his work and headed back to Alex's lab. "Well all I have to do is get rid of the forumal that Alex made and make sure she can't make it again." Eric said to Richard as he hacked into her computer and deleted everything he could. "I can't help but feel bad for her right now. I can't imagine what drove her to try and change her self. All for a kid. After all you can adopt or something along those lines." he added.

"Much better, don't you think?"

Now that she was settled on Levi's bed Taryn's shoulders shook with silent laughter. "Yes." Taryn replied with a bit of mirth coloring the single word. She raised her hand and brushed her fingers along the side of Levi's head just above his ear. Her gaze shifted to focus the movement. Her gentle touch continued to trace down Levi's jawline before her hand dropped to the mattress.

"Better..." she confirmed. She drew the word out just a little.

Richard had finished the vast majority of the paperwork in the time between when Alex left and Eric had spoken. He was finishing the last few pieces as he spoke to Eric.

"You and I both know it isn't quite the same adopting as having a child of your own. For some people a child that they were pregnant with is an important thing, and Alex is one of those people. I just wish she wouldn't risk herself so much, even to achieve a dream." Richard replied as he signed his name at the bottom of the forum saying Alex was on paid leave for mental health.

'Though I can't say I blame her. I mean I risk my life time and time again to make up for something that wasn't even my fault. Who knows, maybe it is time I let go of the guilt from what happened with Omoi. Learn from it but don't let it control my every action.'

Eric nodded some. "Yea I understand. Alex I don't think could see an adopted child as a replacement for one both you and her created. Not to say she would love the child less, that's a lie, because she would be a great parent. My point is she would feel like something is missing if she didn't have her own." Eric said.

"Good," Levi replied, his grin melting back into a warm smile. Slowly, he moved forward and closed the practically non-existent distance between them with another kiss, this one with more pressure behind it than the others. His eyes closed as the familiar feelings of warmth began to swell within him again, gradually becoming mixed with a much deeper, more powerful feeling. Their kiss broke, but only for a split second. It was replaced with an increasingly passionate embrace that made Levi's heart begin to race. His hold on Taryn adjusted and his hands slowly drifted to the small of her back, where they came to rest. He tightened his grip slightly, pulling Taryn in as close as possible.

"If I could I'd take back everything that happened today. Hell I'd take allot back if I could really." Alex looked down at her feet.

"Well, you can't and you shouldn't even if you could." Tommy said flatly, "My dad used to tell me that everything we do, every mistake we make, every victory, every deed good or bad, goes on to make us who we are."

"Point is, if we never made mistakes if we never did anything we wouldn't be anything, and fact is it could have been worse. I think right now you really just need to talk to Richard, I don't he's nearly as mad at you as you think, if we talk to him you might see that."

"That we do Eric, but I just wish she wasn't as dogmatic as she is about it. I want to have a child of my own to, but not at the risk of her or myself." Richard said simply as he finished signing the last of the documents. He got up from the desk and walked to the door.

"Feel free to stay as long as you like Eric, be warned though, any computer use is tracked here and I will have no problem prosecuting you if you decide you want to look at something you shouldn't. You can search through and lock Alex's files and data all you want, but don't go snooping into other areas." With that said Richard left the room and began making his way out of the building.

Taryn drew in a quick breath when Levi pulled her in towards him. It was startling, the rush of sensations from the sudden closeness. Physical heat radiated between them and seemed to echo the heat, the passion, building within. For a moment Taryn identified strongly with the electricity she manipulated. Filled with restless energy barely contained, shifting, and almost ungrounded. No...not ungrounded. Levi was her ground. 'Almost like...' The current kiss became more involved and Taryn's train of thought was abandoned.

Maneuvering her arm around Levi's to get between them Taryn pressed her hand against Levi's chest. It lingered for a second before sliding down. Static crackled quietly to follow the movement. Lean and firm stomach muscles threatened to distract but Taryn's exploration had a goal. Her knuckles brushed against rough, worn denim as she tugged on the bottom edge of Levi's shirt. Following the pull Taryn wrapped her fingers around the shirt's edge. Her grip gathered the material together without actually lifting it...much. Taryn hummed wordlessly against Levi's mouth. It wasn't a coherent request but the meaning was clear.

Eric sighed not really wanting to spend any more time then he needed to in the building. "I guess I should check on Alex and see how she's doing." Eric said to him self heading to his bike and looked over at Richard. "don't forget to check on Alex, she'll need you more then anyone else right now. Hell I can help better then most but she needs you, not me." Eric said to him pulling out and heading to the Promenade.

He was worried about Alex and it killed him that Richard could help her more then he could. Allot of things about Alex being with Richard was something that was hard for him to take.

Alex nodded. "Please send Richard in when and if he arrives. I really want to talk to him and be held by him." Alex said getting up and sat on the bed. "Thank you Tommy, really it means allot." Alex said smiling softly then sunk deep in thought.

Maybe I need to have a doctor take a look at what's going on but I don't really know what can fix it. I could work with Richard to come up with a way to fix my problem. If I ahve to I can adopt but it won't be the same as my own kid.

No words were needed to convey Levi's answer. Sliding his arm out from under Taryn, he put his hands on top of hers. It was a silent agreement, but it was all that was necessary. He pulled his shirt up a bit and let her take it from there, separating their lips only for a moment as his shirt passed up and over his head. With a renewed vigor, Levi kissed Taryn once more the moment the brown article of clothing was set aside. Intent on returning the favor, his hands slowly made their way down her sides and came to a stop at hem of her own shirt.

Levi's hands gripped a bit of the smooth, black cotton. The fabric felt just a bit thicker than that of his own shirt, a by-product of Taryn's fireproofing of all her clothing. Carefully, Levi began to pull her shirt up. Their lips parted again to allow the shirt to be removed. Tossing the offending apparel aside, he returned to their passionate, loving embrace.

Levi's hands began to wander, this time coming into contact with soft, bare skin instead of fabric. The feel of her skin against his own sent a tidal wave of warmth crashing through every corner of his body. It was an invigorating rush of feeling. More and more, Levi felt himself giving in to the whirlwind of passion that was sweeping them both off their feet, and was loving every last second.

Tommy nodded and left the room, and was suprised to find Kstie and Jason right outside of the room. " Wait what are you guys doing her?" He asked before immediately putting 2 and 2 together. " Huh, ok if you guys see Richard tell him Alex wants to talk to him. I'm gonna find the Doctor, Alex hurt her hand and my shitty first aid isn't gonna cut it."

With that Tommy left the two eavesdroppers and walk to the infirmary, " Yo Doc!" He called out, hoping the Doctor was in today. He found the Doctor behind one of the curtains.

" What were you... Never mind, Alex hurt her hand, can you stop by her room and patch it up, I did a bit of first aid but I'm not sure that it was enough."

The Doctor turned to look at Tommy slowly from behind the curtain; stepping out of them and walked over to a cabinet to get some bandages out. He quickly explained that he was not plotting revenge on Brian nor was he doing anything unsanitary, he had simply been lost in thought while he was cleaning up the new beds he had gotten for the refurbished infirmary. He muttered something about keeping all the new things in pristine condition for as long as he can, figuring that by the time their next real mission comes it would quickly turn back the way the old infirmary looked like.

He added that he'd enjoy the perfection of it while he can before walking out of the infirmary and going down the hall with his supplies in hand. He paused when he saw Katie and Jason near the door before shaking his head and knocking.

"Yeah, I'm actually going to head over to the Promenade now Eric." Richard replied before Eric left. Richard climbed into his car with thoughts of how he might be able to either convince Alex to abandon her dream for her own safety or at least find a way that wouldn't put her in danger to fix it. He had the feeling it was going to be a long day as he started the vehicle and pulled out of the parking spot he had constantly reserved for himself.

Alex sighed looking around the wrecked room, by that time on her bed and held her hurt hand. 'God this hurts like hell." she said then heard a knock at her door. "Come in." she said hoping it was Richard but knew it couldn't be.

She wanted to fix things and feel Richard's touch. she felt horrible and her broken hand didn't seem to help at all. She sighed not sure what to tell him or what to do.

Eric decided it would be best to give Richard and Alex space to mend things before he goes to talk to her. "I should finish my work on finding that information for Rowen, just need to find on one file and I'll have everything." Eric said driving off.

Jason returned the Doctor's disappointed visage with his own confused grimace before turning his attention back to Katie.

"Maybe...you should go in there? Y'know, since she's the most open with you...at least to comfort her further until Richard arrives...and so the Doctor won't do anything that results in Alex strangling him. For safety reasons." Jason quickly added on to the end. He figured Katie's presence probably wouldn't change much (and he figured that she was thinking the same way), but he knew he had to say something before the situation got awkward.
