"Oh, right, yes, that was mentioned on Leland's list," Katie answered Levi before he walked off off to be with Taryn. Seeing those two together always put a smile on Katie's face for some reason. They seemed almost perfect for one another every time she caught a glimpse of the couple.
Having little to do at the moment, considering that she would probably be little help in the kitchen and Leland was busy with Garrus, Katie elected to distract herself by going through the little fitness routine she had set up a few days ago. Informing Leland that she was about to go for a short swim, she kissed him - again playfully licking his lip in mid-kiss - and left the kitchen. Singing quietly to herself, she returned to her room, changed into a bikini and tied her hair back to avoid it weighing her down in the pool. Katie briefly looked herself over before she wrapped a towel around herself to avoid anyone catching an eyeful of her body as she walked through the Promenade again.
Once she arrived at the pool, Katie pulled the towel off and set it aside before diving in headfirst. The water raised goosebumps on her skin, just as it did every time she got in, but she ignored it and rose to the surface a fair distance away before she began to swim up and down the pool's length.

Rowan felt uncomfortable, shuffling around and repositioning himself, even though his bed was softer than normal due to a sheet change the day before. He couldn't help but mentally revisit the Cadizki incident, where he had first taken a life. He had never killed before that afternoon, when he had torn open the throat of that abomination that was crushing Alex to death. There was always a way to avoid such extreme conflict, he could have incapacitated it or knocked it out... but what was done was done.
Now he understood what Sabrina must have felt after she had been kidnapped and Rowan had saved her. She had never told him what the thugs had done to her, if anything. And she had gone into therapy sessions to help her recover; maybe they had concluded and she was okay. It had been a year, almost two now.
"It's time to find out." Determination in his heart and mind, Rowan sat up, grabbed his cellphone and opened up the Contacts menu. There she was, second on the list.
. The call button was right there; all he had to do was press it. Then hesitation entered the back of Rowan's mind, and grew quickly. What if she wasn't over it? What if she still didn't want to talk to him? These questions froze Rowan's thumb over the button.
Then he repeated his statement aloud. "It's time to find out." With that, Rowan pressed the button and raised the phone to his ear with a slightly trembling hand. The familiar monotonous tone began to play as he waited for what seemed like an age. Then it stopped, and he heard a familiar voice:
"Rowan? How have you been?"
"Hello, Sabrina," Rowan answered quietly. It had been too long since he'd heard that voice; not even the song of a nightingale could compare to its return to his ears. "Let's not talk about me. Are you... are you okay?" he asked in a softly shaking voice as he absent-mindedly got up and began to wander the Promenade with the phone at his ear. Sabi's response was bright and cheery, as she began to tell him the events of her life since
the incident almost two years ago. Avoiding the subject of
the incident, of course.
