"I would think long hair would, short is more practical for fights unless your hair is your power or the source of it. Either way you would look excellent no matter your hair style. As for Tommy's gift, I'm hoping that the rather collection of notes from some alchemists who held positions of power in their lifetimes is impressive. It isn't in their original scripts of course, that would require the covering of languages from ancient Chinese to Arabic, but I think a translated copy will do." Richard replied as he finished dressing himself, in his standard suit and tie no less. He had a brief thought of switching his attire to something more casual before deciding against it, he did need to keep up appearances.

"Just give me one second," Garrus called out as he took a thumb tack out of his mouth and used it to keep a banner that read
Code:
Happy Birthday!
up. After a few tries he managed to push the tack in at the very corner of the banner (nearly losing his balance and falling off the small step ladder he was using), jumping off the top step and taking a step back to make sure it was even.

"It's good enough," Garrus said nodding his head before walking over to the light switches and lowering the dimmer, causing the lights to fade until it was almost completely dark. "You're good to go," Garrus called out, feeling Renton holding onto his leg after the lights were out, "You're fine too, it's just the lights. They'll be back on in a second."

"I don't think water powers and hair powers are the same thing dear and thank you." Alex said kissing him softly then pulling away. "I managed to find an orb rumored to be used by Merlin him self. It glows a deep red when a hostile magic user is near by and green when a friendly one is as well. I hope he likes it." Alex said taking the arm of Richard. "Shall we depart?" Alex said.

Eric jolted awake to the sound of his alarm blaring in his ear. "Oh god I hate this thing." Eric said throwing it across the room and broke it into many pieces. "God I'll fix that piece of shit later." Eric said sitting up and looked in the mirror seeing his messy blond hair. "Oh Tommy's birthday is today." Eric said.

"Oh I know, just saying, and yes we probably should." Richard replied before kissing Alex and walking out to the garage.

"So which one do you want to take?" He asked Alex.

"We could take the Bugatti Veyron. It's fast as hell and flashy, I know you like flashy and this holds some good memories." Alex said smiling softly. "God and it's the FIRST car you bought me, the next was a Jaguar." Alex said walking around all the different cars her and Richard owned.

She stopped at the Bugatti Veyron and smiled softly. "Still looks amazing Richard." Alex said getting in the passenger set. "God I love this life, but I don't love it for the money and all the crap that comes with it. I love this life because it means I'm with you, I love it because it's your life." Alex said smiling softly.

Levi flipped the switch on the spotlight and quickly dashed over to the other spotlight, turning that one on as well. Then he pulled the remote to the disco ball's motor out of his pocket and pressed a button. As the lights warmed up, the disco ball began to spin, the fain whirring of the motor faintly audible. Light reflected off the spinning ball, casting shapes on the walls of the lounge. Levi grinned happily.

"I gotta say, this looks pretty cool," he commented. "And wait 'till I get the strobe lights on!"

Katie blinked as the lights from the disco ball began to play out across the lounge. "Hmm. Well, that's one way to decorate the place," she mused. Tommy would probably approve of it.

"I would agree, although I think we can skip it for any birthday celebrations we may host for me," Rowan chipped in. "Incidentally, I didn't mention that on my application form. February fourteenth, in case anyone makes notes of these things. And yes, I know, I was born on Valentine's Day," he added. "People mention that every year, it's kind of annoying. Anyways... I guess I'll have to come up with a gift for Tommy on my own, if you two aren't gonna help much." He cheekily poked his tongue out at Katie and Leland, making a face, and walked back out to the hall, heading for his room.

Once inside the room in question, he shifted back into himself and promptly flopped down on his bed, staring at the ceiling for a while.

"Here's an idea... maybe we could get him a conjoint present," Katie suggested to Leland. "Y'know, something from both of us. Like, maybe if you know anything about enchanting a ring or piece of jewelry or somesuch. I could make a small charm out of, say, a piece of wood. Then you put a spell on it to, I dunno, improve his thought processes in combat or something. Think it'll work?"

Upon entering the lounge, Jason couldn't help but smirk at the disco-style setup presented by the resident magnetic.

"It's like I'm really in the seventies..." He said in amazement as he made his way towards the kitchen for breakfast. Searching through the fridge for milk, he began to have a internal debate with his armor.

"So, have you decided on what we were getting Tommy for his birthday?" Erebus asked simply.

"Well, Tommy likes weapons, right? Maybe I might get him some custom made gauntlets or something." Jason answered, noticing the cake prepared for the event as began to gather a bowl and the cereal.

"Yeah. And they'll go to waste, just like those guns you bought for Alex."

"Now now Ero, i'm sure she has them framed somewhere in that giant house of theirs...with the several dozen mags of ammo and holster getup locked safely away where it's convienent." Jason replied reassuringly, though Erebus wasn't buying the guise.

"Yeah right. She tossed those aside and lost them long ago. You know how careless rich people can be sometimes." He replied as Jason began digging through his bowl of cereal.

"I love this life of mine because it comes with all the money and crap." Richard said laughing as he got into the car.

"Though I do love sharing it all with you when I can. It's why I do buy all the stuff, life is hard enough no matter where you are. Have to take the small pleasures where we can get them."

"Heh, Rowan shares his birthday with Major Crime," Leland muttered with a chuckle before his face lit up after the lights were dimmed and the room was enveloped by the small lights bouncing off the disco ball hanging from the ceiling. "This present talk will have to wait Katie. I must bask in the glory of the disco ball!" he told her as he jumped up from his seat, only to have the lights be turned back on all the way by Garrus as soon as he stepped into the lounge.

Leland just glared at his brother who was now messing around by dimming the lights then suddenly turning them back on to full brightness.
"Haha, I'm sorry it was just to funny," Garrus laughed before asking Levi if he needed the lights dimmed anymore or if they could just stay on for now.

Alex smiled and cuddled to him. "Oh sure the money means more." Alex teased and kissed Richard softly starting the car from him and smiled hearing the engine roar to life. "Hmm reminds me of you in bed, power at the start and finish." Alex smirked a hand resting on his chest.

Eric quickly got dressed and cleaned up. "I spent so much time finding a gift for Alex to give to Tommy I almost forgot about my gift for him." Eric said pulling the wrapped gift out and gave it a look over.

Inside was and enchanted stone that was a deep blood red color. It's rumored to have the power to glow with incantation but Eric couldn't find it said incantation anywhere. Tommy might have some fun with it though.

"No not really, but sometimes I can almost pull of pretending it is." Richard replied still laughing as he pulled out in the vehicle.

"As for how I am in bed, well I'm usually a bit too busy to notice."

Alex cuddled to Richard kissing his neck. "Trust me it's amazing. It's like you're using your power suit in bed. Hmmmm like an auto hump function." Alex laughed. "Hmmm I love you." Alex said.

"Um...yeah, I'd like the lights dimmed again. I need to test the strobe lights, too," Levi told Garrus, inspecting the spotlight one last time before turning around. The lights dimmed, and the disco ball once again cast its rotating lights onto the walls. He headed over to the clearing in the center of the lounge that was going to be the 'dance floor', and found where he had planted the strobe lights. The machines were properly plugged in and set up, but Levi did a quick check to make sure. Turning the strobe lights on, they performed their primary function perfectly. That is, creating a rapid disorienting pulse of light.

"Now all we need are some glowsticks," he commented.

'If I set the cameras to record here and to shut off herethere's enough space on sub-drive V:\ folder C to capture the whole event in high-def in one single session.' Taryn thought to herself as she worked. After a few quick lines of code she nodded in satisfaction. The schedule program was finished. The one she'd spent the last ten minutes or so working on. It was designed to point a few of the hidden security cameras in the lounge to specific angles so that Tommy's birthday could be captured completely. 'For later review. And possible hilarity depending on if someone drinks too much.' A few clicks had the program loaded and ready to go. 'There' Taryn grinned.

Before exiting her room she grabbed a small remote along with her phone. Taryn locked her door and waited for the quiet 'whoosh' that indicated her room's auto-defense system coming online. Then she turned and began walking down the hall. She headed for the lounge, assuming that most of the 'awake' people would be there.

"I love you to Alex, and please never give me the mental image of my suit automatically pelvic thrusting. It's like either a horribly perverted construction worker is trying to pick up women in my suit or it's the humping robot from robot chicken. Last thing I want to think about is my suit getting it on with a washer, dryer combo." Richard said with a shudder as he began to drive.

Brian was slow to get up, as usual. After the disastrous weekend with Kayla, he went back to shutting himself off in his room, more depressed now than he was when he was sure he was going to be killed in the hallway. He made sure he just qualified as dressed, wearing the complimentary bathrobe and slippers as he headed out to the kitchen, where there appeared to be a commotion.

He blinked at the sight. "Huh, what's all this there now? The Canucks playing tonight?"

Alex laughed softly and cuddled with Richard. "Ok ok I won't I'm sorry honey." Alex said. "you know Eric, Levi and Taryn could make a partner for you suit to fuck." Alex joked. "Ok ok I'm done." she said.

"Aw yeah this is the stuff," Leland said cheerfully as the strobe lights pulsated brightly, "This is going to be one of the best parties ever!"

"It'll be a good one, that's for sure," Garrus stated as he turned the lights back on fully so he could continue with the decorations. He then heard Brian ask what was going on, turning around and telling him that it was all for Tommy's birthday.

"It's birthdays and holidays that we celebrate here at the Promenade. There has been a few other important things, but it's mainly those two things that get parties," Garrus told Brian, getting to work on inflating some balloons.

Katie blinked and averted her eyes from the strobe lights, not wanting to be blinded or disoriented at this particular time. Levi's comment amused her a little, although she had something to say on it. There was, of course, one big thing that was missing.

"Um, Levi? You forgot the all-important aspect. Music," she said to him, getting up from the table and making her way into the lounge. "And of course, a bit more darkness in the room for this to be more effective. Maybe cut the lights completely, get something on par with Jason's stereo system... Or maybe something a bit less ear-bleedingly loud."
