I don't really consider those networks to be on the same scale as PSN.
Never let the facts outweigh your opinion, eh? Good for you
First off, none of those launched in my country, so I have no way of knowing they existed
Oooh! Snap. Same here, but then that's Ireland for me. You should really try using that internet thing. We have it here in Ireland and it lets me look up things like the history of gaming, I think you'd love it! I heard about those Sega networks through it.
and secondly, Sony aren't the only people who store user data on databases.
No way! I demand proof!
Pretty much every website does that now. People would ***** and moan about a lack of useability if they didn't.
So basically you're fucked either way.
I don't think you see the difference between (A) a company that has a well thought out network, with up to date server updates that follows industry best practices and keeps their customers data secure, fulfilling their legal obligations and (B) Sony.
Yes Sega didn't connect the world over broadband to hi res graphics with live audio chat at an affordable rate. Their networks' scales were regional, slower, more expensive, using what could even at the time be argued to be somewhat dated technology.
But the is no evidence Sega were ever anything but (A).
But you're right about me being fucked either way. I'm too sexy for this shirt, too sexy for this shirt, so sexy it hurts. I'm on aspirin and barechested as I type this.
