Not me - After years of being told how great StarCraft was I finally had the chance to play it only about 2 years ago. I found StarCraft to be total rubbish and kept playing Battle For Middle Earth 1 & 2 which are both 1000x times better RTS games than star craft.

I prefer an RTS where a smart player can beat a massive army with only a few well used troops. StarCraft just felt like a spam fest of who builds the most units fastest wins.

I admit that after a few games i uninstalled StarCraft and have never given it a second chance but StarCraft 2 looks too much like the same crap with shiny new graphics.

Well I hate to say it but of course they are going to say that, if they come out and say "well we have this game we are making, it's not quite done yet, but we are going to charge you $60 for the first part then you can buy the rest as we make it as well" do you think people would honestly buy the damn thing? This goes under PR not wanting a clusterfuck of bad press about their game.
Or perhaps they're being truthful and you're just letting cynicism get in the way? Blizzard are a solid developer who've not steered me wrong before, I don't see why they'd start now despite their new relationship with Activision, who I'll readily admit to disliking a great deal.

And I don't like it because I'm not getting a full game, and then I'm expected to shell out $60 for something that's not a collectors edition.
But you 'are' getting a full game, or so everything I've read has led me to believe. Previous Blizzard games have had expansions, and in each case the expansions simply added onto an already fantastic game. Why should it be any different this time? Will there be the same uproar when the inevitable first Diablo 3 expansion pack is announced?

If the original game is a solid and entertaining experience, I see no reason not to buy it. And if I know there are expansions in the works that will improve the experience further, then power to them. I bought Dawn of War knowing there would be many expansion packs, same with Dawn of War 2. Just because a game will be improved later, doesn't mean it can't be good now.

But the game isn't even out yet so who knows? I hope I'm right and you're wrong, but there's no way to know till it's on shelves.

In the meantime I'll agree that we disagree, which is fine with me. If everyone agreed on everything this'd be one helluva boring world, and although I'm optimistic this time, there's no telling what's coming in the future. Maybe you'll find yourself defending a game against me? Hah! Oughta be fun!
That I might, but then again I argue against games I like(Alpha Protocol) so you never know. And for the record I do hope your right, and if you are I will buy the game when it's all in one for about $50 in a few years, but I just don't trust them and smell a scam. Probably a fun scam but still a scam.

I won't be. Never played the first one, don't like strategy games :/
This. Coupled with the fact it is only on the PC yeah it is a pass for me. My PC is occupied by my better half's MMO addiction. She would kill me if I bought a PC game considering how much I have invested in consoles so we can both play what we want.

I can say a giant cock will fall from the sky and become a new playable race, and that this came straight from the developers and it won't mean shit without any evidence. If you're too lazy to get quotes or links then don't expect to be believed. You might as well be saying "My uncle works at nintendo and he says you can catch mew!" But really, do you also stick your hand into bee nests and say you're tired of bee stings?
The difference between your word and his word is that he works for a gaming magazine therefore have access to developers whereas you don't.

Not me. I'm not really into RTSs, and not much into Computer Gaming. I might play it on a friend computer sooner or later, but even though, I've been thinking about researching the game a bit.

I played the original, a lot. To be honest, I got burned-out on the original and what I've seen of the new game hasn't reignited the interest to play again.

Me. I never beat the original Starcraft campaign and Brood War and I don't play enough online RTS to get it for that reason. So no, I'll probably get it some time in the unspecified future.

I will not be getting this game. Not because I hate RTS (I don't), I'm just not interested in getting Starcraft II.

Me. Fuck Blizzard. Also, I don't like RTSs. They all seem the same. More samey then other kinds of games.
Samey?

Halo icon?

O.K. never mind
I never said other games weren't samey. Modern warfare games can only be so modern. Halo icon was for the beta, and I've been trying to find something since then. Playing different RTSs and shooters, I've found I'm better working on the ground then commanding everything from up top. Samey in this manner: always the same units and buildings functioning the same way for the same objectives. They may look different and do different things, but they will do the same thing. This can be said of many games though: shooters objective is kill, racing is to win, and so on.

Not me. Got collector's edition preordered.

Honestly, the beta alone is one of my favorite games of the year so far. Soooo much fun.
Pretty much this minus the collector's edition.

More samey then other kinds of games, so racing games, shooters, fighting games are less samey then RTS games as a whole? I would say they are ALL around the same amount of samey as each other.

Also, I won't be getting it, not because I don't like Blizzard, but because I'm into RPGs at the moment. 2 weeks ago I was RTS-ing all over the place, I change frequently :/
