You didn't have to tell him twice - sometimes, not even
once - to prepare for battle. As soon as the alarm sounded, Masan-Ru was on his feet and slid out the door as soon as the lady captain left. He took off in a run, remembering the directions he'd taken to get here in the first place, comlink activated on shipwide for the
Dauntless Rex.
"All hands, prepare for combat. I want us prepped for launch as soon as I'm on board and to get going the very
second I get there."
His swift motion waited for no one, for nothing. He even kicked one of those floor-cleaner droids out of the way as he haded for the hangar in which his ship was docked and...Niko?! Wait, what? Oh, right. He'd asked the guy to bring the stuff. Fuel cells, the hyperdrive hodge-podge... It was on a cart he'd been pushing with a couple droids.
Niko: As requested. What do we do about the droids?
"Uhhh, let 'em go for now. They can do their thing and we can do ours. Let's go!"
They headed off to the already-powering-up Corvette. The droids looked at each other, nodded heads, and continued on to their ordered destination, which would be the engineering section of the
Endeavor, most likely needing directions on the way. Masan-Ru and Niko got onto their ship and it took off into space, the tall captain getting onto the bridge after picking up his equipment where he left it in the office. That was when the commu came in.
Soviet Heavy said:
"Captain Telani to Corvette leaders. Have you ever heard of the Marg Sabl Maneuver?"
Masan-Ru deadpanned. Was she serious about this? They'll see it coming a parsec away. She explained it for the un-savvy, and then pointed out the obvious flaw which nearly everyone would have on their mind. The tall spacer didn't prefer to turn his dorsal away during combat, except as a switch to spread out the return of fire AFTER he's let loose a barrage from all the cannons up there. Droids weren't the best shot in the world, but fire-linked to Niko's console, they had a very nice pattern of converged attack.
Well anyway, this wasn't really Telani's plan. Tactical information appeared on the screen now as she explained that this was...well now! Masan-Ru's eyes lit up at the sight of a REAL plan, involving the Nebula to execute a maneuver not too distant from his own preferred method of attack. Indeed, by moving in close to a perpendicular angle to the attacking Destroyers, they would be able to use much more firepower against them. Good! You've managed to make the pirate grin.
"I want the Corvettes running interference, screening the Endeavor from their fighters. Get in close, strike hard, strike fast and come around for a second pass after we've hit the first Destroyer. Is the plan understood?"
"Yes,
indeed, it is. You heard her, men. Prepare to bluff the opposition!"
Comms would close to his laughter as they moved into position with the
Endeavor. All the main crew were on the bridge and anxiously awaiting the fight. Kevin was appropriately freaked out, which meant that he would be extra-maneuverable today in his escape routes and swift actions.
"Any qualms against this action, Marcus?"
Marcus: None, O Captain. I'm quite bitter. Murder their faces.
